Hi guys,
I am big fan of D2 and been waitin' so long for this unborn baby from Blizzard :cute:, here it's coming our way. In D2 we had Normal, Nightmare and Hell levels, i personally love to have another level called ""Below Hell" for D3 and if it's possible I would like to fight monsters which are developed only for this level (the bosses can be kept - extremely high magic and HP of course, but the foot-soldier monsters should be something else
The reason is quite silly  cause i really dont want to finish this game so fast, 10 years of waiting i want something that can last me 2-3 months to finish 1 char-class completely b4 moving on to the new class. Blizzard can make this special level DVD and sell it like an expansion!! I know this is lame but BELOW HELL level plz !!!
Honestly, I think they should make hell even harder.
BUT at the same time make a few things easier such as immunities and such, cause i remember running Chaos on my wind druid, and finding the one mob that the only thing he WASN'T immune to was fire.
I think there should be only 1 level of difficultly because it gets boring doing the same thing 3 times in a Row by just changing the Monsters damage and HP
I want there to be that steady ramp in difficulty but Hell should be extremely difficult, with more strategizing about drawing mobs, encountering random dangerous situations...but not cheap shots like MSLEBs (Multi Shot Lightning Enchanted Boss)
I think Mythos and HG:L has a great difficulty system of elite vs non-elite. Basically keep normal, nm, and hell modes, then add an elite mode, where normal, nm, and hell modes are even harder.
elite mode has tougher mobs, more champion mob spawns, higher chances of getting a condition...lots of stuff.
Pfft Twilight? Below Hell? If they were to ever make another difficulty I would hope it would be named Armaggedon or Apocalypse or something that really states "like nothing you ever imagined before." I wanna do the cow level on that difficulty. I can only imagine some twisted looking insanely difficult...MOOOO! Death!

Twilight should be way above Hell in difficulty - team play necessary to finish the game.
I agree in that stance as far as team play necessary to get through. Just not the name of the difficulty. Twilight doesn't evoke a sense of danger to me quite like "Asshat was slain by Armaggedon Bovine" Moooo!!!

They are going to keep the same difficulty levels. It was answered in a Q&A.
Yeah, it's seems like a good idea to keep the Normal, Nightmare and Hell difficulty, but maybe they could allow for a 4th difficulty: something where you lose exactly 1 level with each death and 50% of all your gold.

lol it can still easily be a ranger since who said you cant shoot arrows at melee distance xD

The Barbarian is from Arreat, a very cold snowy mountain top, but they are much tougher than normal humans, so they don't need warmth.

Where are Barbarians originally from? Sumeria, or more specifically Mesopotamia, AKA Europe. Think the Alps and the Pyrenees
LMAO! I completely agree with Kwic on the idea of one mode. THAT IDEA IS HORRIBLE!!!. I have playd this game a countless number of times (thousands of hours), and i LOVE haveing the harder modes with better items in them. It feels new and fun...i mean normal was just the easy beginning, nm and hell is where the fun truly begins :).
LOL i agree that diablo 1 had a sucky difficulty for fighitng diablo...he was WICKED easy. I believe D2 has the difficulty and its modes RIGHT ON.
oh and where is it that they say there will be nm and hell modes? and do we know yet if they are modes you achieve by beating the previous mode? i sure as hell hope so. I also hope that there are better items in each mode.
i like the old system but normal should stay the same level of diffuculty, nightmare should be twice as hard as old game, hell should be harder then last and finally there should either be a really balanced game all around, or the should be a fourth diffuculty that could make the perfect, godly equipped character tremble like a b*****.

Agreed. Make it a real challenge, and encourage us very strongly to keep grouping.

Second Difficulty: Nightmare
Third Difficulty: Hell
Fourth Difficulty: Twilight*
*Twilight indicates a new set of monsters and quests.
Just my idea.

Cool! Just like to add all elite has done in hgl was cause problems.

I was thinking more of a new dimension. Similar to the cow level, except much larger, including new towns, and other such obstacles.
