Seriously, what a fucking let down man. i'm not trying to ruin anyones day here but I'm angry about the limited amount of classes.
They could have at least had 7 "D2xpack". To actually have less classes seems like a complete joke to me. I'm a huge Diablo fan, huge. But Blizzard is failing to raise the bar here. This isn't 2000 where this type of game was new.
I know people are here and excited, I'm excited too. But I feel really discouraged about only 5 classes.
Furthermore, I think it's fairly obvious the type of classes there will be.

Yeah I have to agree with you, I would like to see the originals which I said in my other post, and then a couple new ones. The game I play atm is Guild Wars but was a big Diablo 2 fan before. In GW there are 10 professions/classes which is good as you can get a feel for all of the different ones. But of course it is a different game.
There only being 5 is annoying especially from first glances at the "Witch Doctor" I personally dont like it and hopefully it wont replace the Necromancer as they were seriously cool.
Hopefully they might change this or Bring out an expansion with more classes.
I vote you to stop complaining, game. Seriously, 5 classes but they will have much more skills I assume, making a lot of possibility of build. Also, it's 5 classes because they obviously made hybrids (witchdoctoc being necro/FireSorc).
There will be more than 5 classes eventually, I'm sure

When the game has taken THIS long to even be announced, and will take who knows how long to be released. You hve the right to complain. Don't give me shit about "be happy they made it". This game will make huge sales, it's a no brainer that they will make it.
As far as talents/skills *possibly* being more diverse. Even if they are, more classes makes things much more interesting. If it were 7 I wouldn't complain, but 5? 5?!
Going from 7 classes in the last game to 5 doesn't seem like a smack in the face to you? So we have to wait for an expansion for more classes, when the game has taken this long to come out already? I think you're the idiot.
I guess you just have lower standards, too blinded by fanboyism.
From what I got from the trailer the whole class and skill system seems much more sophisticated and deep so I think five is plenty. I'm just glad they announced the game lol.

I think you should decide on standards once its actually out and you can play it.
Yea D2 had 7 classes after expansion, but with the way skills were balanced sooo many of the builds were useless or underpowered. I am assuming that these five classes in D3 are going to be balanced in a way that there will be many many different ways to make the same character.
So long as there are more viable builds for each character, I don't see a problem with only 5 classes. We hardly know anything about the skill system, it seems a bit early to pass judgment. Simply my opinion of course.
I think 5 classes is fine especially if they are extended. In reality, DII had more than 7 classes, because you could play each class in some varying ways. The necromancer could be bone or poison or summoner. Perhaps DIII classes offer more than DII classes, or they indeed intend to add more in expansions.
Nothing is FINAL. It will PROBABLY be five characters. Very likely to change so just stick around and wait.
Stay awhile and listen, as cain would put it.

EDIT: Blitzer beat me to it
I can assure that some serrious imagination role playing will ensue.

I really hope they add a couple more.
It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.

by that logic you would be happy with a trash can with a letter 3 on it.
I think 8 classes would be good.
