Hell, Blizzard's choice of colours couldn't be any worse.
Purple cap? What about a pink dress for the barbarian and fluo green boots for the witch doctor while we're at it?
That could be starter gear. By end game, the gear could be much cooler and demonic. We don't know. No ones knows. .....Heck, there could even be a Dye system. Could turn that spikey purple helmet into a spikey black helmet.

It's 3am. rain. thunder, lightning. silence. silence. thunder. wind, howling wind. pricks of sound the rain makes. slowly. as it trickles down your roof. behold the solemn nature. behold the beauty of the storm.
I'm pretty sure it was a death animation, meaning the Barb was near death/dead already and the animation was prompted. I doubt a boss, any boss, will be allowed a "one-hit kill" skill, that would be absurd.
I don't quite like the death animation from the bosses. Sure it's nice to see and all but it takes a second or so away from the boss to be attacking you.
On topic of having these mini-animations for your own character...
I would disagree with having them included. That would be far too "over the top" for my taste and the GOW influences will start pouring in. The game is a simple hack'n'slash online RPG with some great lore, if you want death animations go play GOW3 when it comes out.
If you want simply animations and simply flop over deaths then go play D2.
-If anyone hasn't noticed this yet, they're trying to combine classes. Now, the barbarian, from what i've seen (albeit isn't alot) has nto changed. Then again, i've seen 10 mintes of footage and 5 skills.
-Now the witch doctor was interesting. They seem to have combined the Sorceress and Necro together. Again, we've only seen 5 skills, but he does use a fire bomb and does have curses, and can raise minions.
-Now my thoughts on the other 3 characters are scattered. i wonder what the creative minds at blizzard will come up with next? Maybe a paladin/angel, or an amazon/assassin. no one knows, we'll just have to wait.
The Barbarian now has a "Charge" type skill, witch before was Paladin only.
I posted this in another thread a while ago (no one seemed to pay attention to it...
But, here is what I think a cool class would be.
Demomancer Skill Tree 1- Demonology (Summons Basic Demons, Future Skills will allow you to transform the basic summons into more powerful demons. Would probably include passive skills to increase the power of the basic and transformed demons.) Skill Tree 2- Shapeshifting (Allows the hero to transform into a demon and learn ability that can be used in those forms.) Skill Tree 3- Curses (Same idea as the Necromancers skill tree.)

What do you guys think?
Sounds like it would be fun, sort of a .... Overseer/Summoner would be really cool, like a re-build of the Necromancer... But if they were to make a class like your idea I think it would just be a re-built Necromancer that is much different then the WitchDoctor.
very very very well thought out, i would accept this, especially the much thought put into it, even if they already made a paladin class, renaming it inquisitor would be awesome
Very nice, and very well thought-out. I'm glad to see some effort put into the class discussions, rather than just "generic warrior," or "typical mage."
I'm going to merge this with the big class discussion thread, just to help clear up some of the clutter around here.
The background is awesome. These guys are fierce. Truly fanatical. I like these guys better than the Paladin because these guys have a touch of evil. The Paladins seperated themselves from the Inquisition because they felt that the Inquisition was too fanatical, so instead the Paladins went after the source of the evil itself. The Inquisitors are the type that burn witches.
I especially love the skills you gave him. Blessing of Tyrael/Auriel/Imperius is just awesome. And the Exorcism spell. They have really awesome names.
Make sure you keep a copy of this on your computer. Not that it would actually be implemented into the game, but its just too awesome to let it sink into the bowels of a bottomless thread forever lol.
Luckmann, very good post my friend!
That whole build/class you have going there seems very cool and fun.
You should work at Blizz or at least send them some of your ideas! Although I'm sure if you post great ideas like that on Diablofans they will see somehow!
I hope they take your idea into consideration, would be a fun class, I'd play it first out of all the characters to choose from
Anyway here is what I think the other 3 will most likely be:
1. Wizard (Sorcerer/Sorceress) Mage class.. pretty much needed in any role-playing action game.
2. Ranger (Rogue-like class) Some sort of leather-wearing agile class that can use bows or 1 handed weapons.. can fill in the role for both Amazon and Assassin from D2
3. Knight/Paladin some sort of melee/magic user hybrid, will most likely fill in the role of a "healer" for D2. And by healer I mean someone who uses holy magic. (not necessarily heal people like in an MMO)
If there is room for a 4th class or a chance that Witch Doctor could get scrapped, I strongly suggest keeping the Necromancer. This character fit so perfectly well into the Diablo universe, I cannot see a game without him. The Witch Doctor has more similar abilities to a Druid than a Necro if anything... He even makes the same noises that the Troll Shadow hunters make from Warcaft 3... which i think is goofy and just seems out of place. His character and custome design also looks silly. Seriously, just scrap the idea of the Witch Doctor

Bring back the Druid/Necromancer!
Witchdoctor looks decent to me, remember we haven't seen barely anything yet, and don't know of the other classes so we never know.
And Paladin > Necro to me.
Druid > Necro also, they are very fun!
I just saw the trailer and the game play
(yes, i know i'm severely un-updated)
I kinda liked the witch doctor, it'll be those whom you'd like in a party team. The locust attack was pretty darn awesome if the strength of it could be increased.
I'm really hoping they'd bring the Assassin back. I've always used her in Diablo and her traps and combos are out of this world when used correctly ( I spent a mass amount of time training and learning technique ) so i guess if they don't bring her back, i'd be very dissapointed.
The Paladin has always fit very well in the game. He's the typical kind of hero one would use in stories with monsters and such.
The amazon was not a big thing for me, I ultimately enjoyed the assassin more than her. But from reading the threads, I think it'll be a good idea to merge the two. I just hope the character design of the both of them is awesome.
I've always saw Assassins as attractive but deadly. So i hope both the male and female characters look sexy or something.
My pick for the 5:
Barbarian
Witch Doctor
Assassin/Amazon mix
Paladin
Sorceress
Just adding on, I've always had these awesome ideas for the sorc. Like merge the Druid and Sorc. So you kinda have a black witch/sorc or something. She can do all her spells but summon demons as well. I don't know, just an idea

Sorc/Shapeshifter would be sweet, with a tad of evil thrown in the mixture
I was thinking of that, she can shapeshift into a really cool wolf or something. She can really be expanded upon.
And scrap her green dress/rag thing
sorry thats just the female in me.

Would be perfect if the Inquisitor had the half robe, half armour look...like angels.
However, this is supposed to be in an already existing thread located here: http://www.diablofans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1288&page=159
