"Whois info on Diablo3.com shows that it's currently owned by Roger Barr, who runs I-Mockery, another link on the sidebar. So this could all just be a hoax or publicity stunt. We'll find out on May 1st, I guess."
Over the years the site has expanded greatly, but still continues to live up to its original slogan: "Dedicated to making a mockery out of all things adored by the general public. Dedicated to exposing people who take themselves far too seriously. Dedicated to shattering empty causes and empty words.

Are you stupid? What does diablo3 have to do with anything I said? The owners here are still the owners, just with a different domain pointer. Point is they lied about "half the web" linking here on May 1.
Actually, something good came out of this. Now gamers won't take this site seriously anymore or believe anything said. It's been pretty obvious anyway. I-mockery owns this site which makes fun of people like diablo fans. Go read wiki on it ya doof!

It wasn't meant to be a factual statistic. "half the web" was meant to be exaggerated. It was meant to create hype for its loyal fans. If you think the site has lost any reputation due to overhyped information, you would be incorrect. Before guys like you came along, there were plenty of us. None of us are going away, we're loyal. No reputation was lost, only gained.
If you're referring to the kids who never contributed to the website in the first place, then were let down by an overhyped announcement. Why would their opinion matter? They've never invested a single thing into this website. I care not for their opinion. I never saw them before the countdown. I won't see them after. They'll play Diablo3 regardless.
The purpose of this thread has been proven incorrect. An announcement did take place.
i said it before why idiots are logging to this website ihate newbies who thinks that they are rite ,go to hell greyman u dont belong here go and play mario with u friends

LOL. You know I think you talked me out of abandoning this site Timber. I'll think I'll visit from time to time. 1. For the entertainment. I don't think I can find more hilarious theories and rumors anywhere else. 2. In case some real diablo news pops up I'm sure I'll find it buried somewhere in the clutter. I admit, this is probably where most diablo fans hang out. I just won't pay any more attention to official communiques. The timer said "half the web". So he meant us to think "half the web". I don't want to hear your spin on it.

There is no 'spin'. There is only your misinterpretation.

Greymann, I have been in contact with Umaro quiet often. I am sorta co-webmaster at Diablo3 since a few weeks, and owner of Blizzplanet -- which is hosted by the same network as Diablo3. So I guess I am able to deny your point.
This is not a hoax. Blizzard approached Mockery. Mockery gladly agreed to give the domain name to Blizzard Entertainment at no cost. Free.
Other people would have wanted a ransom selling the domain name for $10,000 if not more.
The Registrar info still displays Mockery as owner, because Blizzard is giving him the privilege of keeping the domain name for a month to help transition the forum community from diablo3.com to Diablofans.com
It would have affected this community if people who do not visit the forum for weeks, return to suddenly find the domain name is now pointing to Blizzard.com -- people would be lost not knowing where the forum community ended up.
In that sense, I suggested to make a countdown so that people would be alert and catch up to May 1 simultaneously. As well as bring everyone's hopes and hype up -- because this is no mere rumor. This is a big clue that something is going on soon.
On June, Mockery is officially transfering ownership of the domain name to Blizzard Entertaiment. Consider seeing the domain still under Mockery's name a Grace Period to allow the community to make a transition.

greymman, we did not lie. Sure it is hard to measure exactly what's half the web -- but I am sure it shouldn't be considered literal, but as a expression. Even so you can see a list of BIG Gaming News sites who have so far linked to the Domain Name Acquisition here: http://www.diablofans.com/forums/showpost.php?p=197067&postcount=360
Hope this reply covered all your doubts and conspiracy theories.
As for me, I have been into the Blizzard Fansites thing since 2001. Blizzplanet has been a registered member of the Blizzard Fansites Program since 2003. I have contacts in Blizzard, Upper Deck, DC Comics (WoW Comic book), White Wolf Publishing (RPG Books), Pocket Books, and other places.
I have interviewed many book writers, including a Blizzard sound editor, music composer, and voice actors such as Glynnis (Kerrigan) and Robert (Jim Raynor).
I wouldn't put my "reputation" in the line of fire with a hoax, unless I was lied to. And I really doubt Umaro and Mockery lied to me. You can see that Blizzard confirmed the domain name acquisition at Next-Gen.biz
Many Gaming News sites also use Blizzplanet as source. I was who reported the Diablo Film by Legendary Pictures to the Gaming News sites. Sure Legendary took the list down within 24 hours but everyone saw it was indeed listed.
I reported to Kotaku and Newsarama there was a WoW Comic book in the works, ten days before the official announcement from DC Comics.
I reported BlizzCast was in production a month before BlizzCast Episode 1 was released.
I also reported a Diablo patch in the works two months before it was officially said at the Zerg Demonstration in China.
I have reported many upcoming Warcraft, Starcraft and Diablo books over 6 months before they hit the bookstores. I knew about Starcraft: The Dark Templar a year before it shipped. It shipped simultaneously with the Starcraft 2 announcement.
There are other newsworthy things I have reported to the Gaming News sites, but you got the idea.

Fuck you, I'm a dragon.
It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
o you just made my diablo boner go a little limp.
