I like the 3D platform style, basically because its more efficient when talking down Diablo's minions. The bird eye view is nice and it gives you the same feeling as the original, but again for quality wise, I would have to go 3D.

I like the life I lived, because I went from negative to positive.
You know very well who you are, don't let them hold you down, reach for the stars.
It's not Diablo unless it's from that viewpoint. You put Diablo into any other viewpoint and then it's just another POS 3D adventure game. I mean look at Final Fantasy. Their combat system has been virtually unchanged through each iteration of the game. Why? Because that turn-based system is what made Final Fantasy famous. If they suddenly decided tomorrow "Ok, lets make the next FF a first person action like Oblivion." It just wouldn't work.
I absolutely LOVED Oblivion. Thing is, the first person view on Oblivion is well, Oblivion. It doesn't work for every game. (Yes Oblivion has 3rd person view but first person is where it's at). That play system is what made the Elder Scrolls line and Diablo's play system is what made it Diablo.
Diablo was immediately known as the mouse killer. Why? Cuz back when Diablo 1 was king, people would wear out their mice from clicking so damned much lol (believe me, I did). The staccato rhythm of clicking coming from a darkened room is what made Diablo such a different experience from other games of it's day and still makes it different from current games. You can't have that type of game play from any other perspective except the Isometric. If you make it 3D with a moving camera, you have to deal with a constantly moving camera. You have to zoom out to throw down a Blizzard, you have to zoom in to pick up loot; it would be an all around pain in the ass.
THAT is why I vote to keep it the same. If you change the perspective of the game, you will completely lose what makes Diablo Diablo.
BTW: if anyone votes first person I will find you and kill you
People restrain themselves from really picking what they think D3's view perspective should be like because they think that by choosing a 3rd person or something else, they're damning D3 to look something like a cross between a mule and a table. I for one would have nothing against D3 being viewed from 3rd person with the possibility to zoom in and out all the while retaining an isometric overhead view. People, don't be too lazy to post opinions. I personally am as lazy as they come. I find it very difficult to post long reasonable arguments, because they'll be 10 pages long. Keeping your opinions to yourselves won't help this forum, and by it the game itself. This is a forum after all... Share

The Barbarian is from Arreat, a very cold snowy mountain top, but they are much tougher than normal humans, so they don't need warmth.

Where are Barbarians originally from? Sumeria, or more specifically Mesopotamia, AKA Europe. Think the Alps and the Pyrenees
I like the D1 and D2 perspective but I want full 3D... however, I think it would be neat if they gave us some options where you could play with whatever perspective you wanted ^^
Like if you were a bow user (amazon, rouge, new class?) you could go first person and aim for good shots, game that did something like that was Zelda OoT... it was awesome, (I hated that they got rid of that for TP it didn't make the bow as fun lol) in OoT you could also lock-on (where's the fun in that) if you didn't want to manual aim, I'd like to have both for D3 for bow users, just my 2 cents

A nice, fixed 3rd person camera is what I'd like to see. I wouldn't be the upset if it was in the classic view either. But I really don't like the first person view in these kind of fantasy games. I probably wouldn't pick it up if that is the case. I have no explanation for why I don't like it... I just don't. Not in this kind of game.
like diablo 1 and 2, it;s classic and it fits best for the typr of game, atleast in the current view you get to see everything coming/attacking you unlike 1-person.
THough 3rd person isnt bad it's not that good eathier though i would take it over 1st anyday
What about the Guild Wars 3rd person engine. If it was placed in a more fast-paced game like Diablo with an improved fighting system (insert story as well) it'd be pretty-much a rampage.

To find the truth, you must risk everything.
