So lets delete this thread too and all the comments that criticize the same things i criticized in the petitions, it's the opinion of a part of the Diablo players, cant find any reason to delete that thread.
First of all that thread and the petition are the same thing. But you had to make a separate thread for it. It doesn't need one. You can store your petition here. This forum is not to go storing 100 petitions about what people like or don't like about the poor game.
In the grand scope of things, only about 25% (at best) of the people here like what they saw, the other 75% (at least) did not.
There is something called the vocal minority. It is very easy to see things as half empty while very few can realize something might be half full. Plus a good way of measuring the sentiment is to see how many mature post are being made vs the immature.
Personaly I think it would be a waste if they would turn to a more dark and less colorful scene. Why? Because im not a fan of gothic like scene in games. Dont get me wrong though, I played D2 and loved it. But the darkness and gothic style is not my thing. My guess is also that most of you who actualy want it different are probably all rock/metal fans, unlike me.
No, we want it to be like the original Diablo. I hate heavy metal and rock- I listen to mostly baroque and classical, and the occasional rendition by Nobou Uematsu What we want is a Diablo game that looks like what we've been playing for years, not something that looks like it came out of a Little Mermaid coloring book.
This is a website for diablo fans? Im not a diablo fan because im criticizing a game that i want to be better? For gods sake, what a stupid argument.
You can be a fan but just please realize that you own argument is loosely held together. Your argument dictates that your reasoning is the majority, which is a false presumption since 43% isn't the majority of your own poll. Some changes, or none add up to the majority which is what the more constructive post have been aimed at.
Your a fan yes, but your way to determined on your own goals and not looking at those who differ from your sentiments.
Sure, the more publicity the better, if everyone could advertise this petition in a lot of forums it would be great
Ultra, do you see how this proves my point that I made previously? Your pandering to your cause but unwilling to look at the critism provided to you? Your ideals are purely biased towards you goals of design, nothing wrong with that. Just realize that by your own poll your not the majority.
Ok, just a slight thought on the matter of making a petition. How secure is the petition and how safe is it from being abused? These are important questions that need to be addressed if your hoping to accomplish any goal. IP restrictions are good to keep people from using one computer, but becareful for having IP restrictions that reset. If you use a system that allows for IP resets, or you use a computer without a standard IP (cable and such) it allows for people to multie vote.
If you allow for a registration system then it will help, but then people can become imaginative and create extra names/gmail accounts and get by that. So be sure to find a secure way to send a petition out if you really do mean to have your voices heard.
Also it may be worth mentioning that no matter how much you do try a petition is better if printed and then signed by all those who are willing to support it and then mailed. That is the best way to get your voice heard.
Ah! Great! BTW... How many of you guys think the same way? That it should be darker and more gothic? I'm new here on the forum so I don't know
I think that the question can turn into "If Diablo II were made today with the technology we have now, would it look as dark?"
I'm not certain, Blizzard had a much more limited color pallette back then so that they could keep the game scalable. Also one thing of interest is that only Tristam is brought up in the layout as an example of the entire color scheme of Diablo series. The desert, Jungles (damn pigmies), and Mount Arreat were not displayed, with more blues and other color tones. Tristam wasn't the only aspect of Diablo, though I do agree with some of the opinions I don't think unsaturating the game will be the end all be all.
It's not just the color scheme we have an issue with...
really the original poster said nothing about anything but the color scheme

Is there a way to make it clear to Blizzard that Diablo III has too much bright colours? It should be as dark as I & II in my opinion, now it looks like a Diablo game with a smudge of WoW over it!
:
the artists at Blizzard are pros they get paid good money to do what they do. unless any of you are employed in similar position i suggest you leave the artistic design of the game up to the designer.
also they probably know it's in their best interest to distance the Diablo franchise from WoW as much as possible (at least form a visual standpoint) so they don't get WoW players leaving to play D3
You only love diablo because the way it looks. remember the inside is what matter's. then you are not a diablo fan fuk you.
We like that Diablo historically has a much different style than Warcraft. This game looks uncomfortably close to the Warcraft style. Get over yourself.

I was agreeing with you, i was referring to the thread starter.
Remember who's making the game and who have played it. They know what their doing.

Cool, has anyone posted it on the battlenet diablo 3 forums?
You call yourself a diablofan..

i'd rather the game come out as scheduled than have it pushed back so everything can be darkened three shades.

That's pretty dark... but it's not gameplay. lol
I love the background here. Ah.. and the background noises. *dies*
