Again, I'm not talking about that. I am the last person to care about the majority vote. I think SC2 will fail, but I don't think D3 will. I feel that there is more to add to D2, but I don't feel the same towards SC. You think SC2 will be awesome, I don't think it will, end of story.
And I'm not going to deal with anything. I will simply not play if SC2 is not what I expect, same goes to D3. I don't deal with stuff. I'm not going to buy Vista just because Microsoft tells me to, either. I will go my way.
I bet you will play SC2 and D3 regardless of whether they are what you expect because thats the only way to really know. Pictures and reviews don't do games justice.
And to siaynoq, this forum is all about patterns in the games. And if its patterns that people follow, it's SC's turn to get a new game.

I meant long-term playing. Of course I will play it for a while to check it out. Even then, I won't buy it, I'll torrent it, it's not my fault games are not rentable and you have to buy a cat in a sack.

Why do you think SC2 would fail? Warcraft 3 seemed to prove that these types of games are still very popular. And WoW aside, I haven't met many people who liked Warcraft 1,2, and 3, but didn't like Starcraft; and vice versa.
I hate WarCraft III, as I have told you before. It has NOTHING to do with WarCraft II or I, at all. That is why it had failed for me. For most people, it didn't, because WarC2 was not popular.
I think SC2 will fail because it's a very complex game. It is supposed to be heavily balanced, it's not AoE where you can add a lot of unbalanced features and be happy. I'm expecting too much a particular game. And if SC2 will sway to micromanagement like WarC3 did... I hate micromanagement.
And I'm not talking about what people like it or not. I'm only talking about whether or not will I like it, see.
Oh. Fair enough. Then I will just assert that I do like it. I never actually really played the first Warcraft. But I have some great memories playing Warcraft 2 and Warcraft 3 is still occasionally fun for me to play.
And I like complex games, as long as it's not to the point of being convoluted.
WoW already HAS an expansion, it would be stupid to make another
there will be another WoW expansion next year. they said they'd support it. Its almost certain that its gonna be in Northrend to face Arthas.
anyway, on a very credible site i'm visiting (for german speakers: www.gamestar.de) said that it might be as much as certain that SC 2 will be announced 19 May. Not sure if we are to expect a Diablo 3 announcement this year if this happens tho.
StarCraft's total sales worldwide = 9,000,000 copies
Diablo II's total sales worldwide = 4,000,000 copies
Hmmm....
Actually, it's just about the other way around.
Starcraft 9 million
Diablo 17 million
Granted that also inlcuded Diablo I, but even split in half it's very close, and I would be surprised if Diablo I sold as much as Diablo II

PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

This news is on the same day as the starcraft new patch announcement. I'm thinking Blizzard is doing all of this on purpose. A good marketing technique. Obviously, the new starcraft leauge system is being tested for starcraft II, just like the synergy system was tested in Diablo II, for D3.
As for everyone who says there wont be another WoW Expansion... Sorry, Blizzard stated they want more.
Bottom line, Blizzard is putting the hype machine in motion. Is there going to be an announcement at the Invitational? Maybe. I guarantee you though, Blizzcon is going to be the mac daddy. D3 for sure.
Starcraft franchise: 9.5 million
Diablo franchise: 17 million
Now, it says Diablo from Blizzard 17 million, so I am unsure whether that includes figures of Hellfire, which Sierra developed. Nevertheless, Diablo has some good numbers there.

Why wold tehy want to put a hype-machine in motion. Starcraft hsa enough rumours as it is, and the last thing that game needs is additional pressure. We all know what can happen to over-hyped games, but in Blizzard's case it's even worse, since it has yet to happen to them.

Gameplay wise, style wise. WarCraft I and II were cheezy, I loved them, you didn't have to think much, just make a bunch of knights + ballista and go! And the sounds! Remember how godly the Paladins sounded??! The Death Knights? Archers? Mmm... and all those funny RPG-style custom maps where you got a paladin, a mage, and a ballista and you have to clear everything up... OK, I'm installing WarCraft II right now!
oo thats not all it gets better once u dig deeper...

If you ever meet a hafling and a hungry dragon you dont have to outrun the dragon, you only have to outrun the hafling.
Ionno about this one. Maybe finally all the rumors are somewhat connecting together. The one with Starcraft II beta and now this. I'm only 60% sure this is true. I'd have to wait till May to decide for sure.

All we can do is hope
All we can do is wait
For Diablo III
Everyone is at each others throats. Awsome. Ive got a friend that is working on hellgate, i promise you that. it looks awsome. As for the MMO positions avaliable.. i think world of starcraft would be well... i dont think it would be that good... an RTS game THAT good, change its style, but they did it for WC, so maybe history will repeat itself. Im pushin for D3, and IGN hasnt made any significant annoucement in regards to the claims made by that korean site, so its all nonsence in my book. but who's judging.
Diablo 3 over SC2, any day of the week. hellgate looks good and ofcourse i will give SC2 a shot if infact it is the next title. but read my last post in this thread, MULTIPLE titles in the works.

UNDER OATH NOT ORDER. THE FEW THAT STANDS AGAINST MANY
Blizzard always likes to set the hype machine in motion. And fans go crazy and blizzard keeps feeding their craze. Anyone remember the almost daily screenshot releases before diablo II? There was so much to take from the screenies that fans went crazy discussing it. Though actually it had a good effect that DiabloII made selling history and stuff and communities like diabloii.net became very strong. Though the initial server crashes were terrible.
I bet you will play SC2 and D3 regardless of whether they are what you expect because thats the only way to really know. Pictures and reviews don't do games justice.
And to siaynoq, this forum is all about patterns in the games. And if its patterns that people follow, it's SC's turn to get a new game.

They are making another, they've already stated that. And it's not stupid, its a huge money maker. Is making millions stupid?
Also to get an idea of SC vs Diablo 2:
StarCraft's total sales worldwide = 9,000,000 copies
Diablo II's total sales worldwide = 4,000,000 copies

He. PLASTIC.
This MMO business is again done on purpose. Hype hype hype. It looks like it will be infact Starcraft II coming May 19th. Blizzcon = D3.
As for the MMO stuff. I see FPS starcraft, or something else, but I dont want to say...
(quoted both things to make ur statement more obvious)
I'd definitely go for WoD when it comes out. Would never try WoS tho, i hate science fiction mmos.
