Now that we're talking about storage, is there any other game with a system similar to that of the Horadric cube? I can think of games that have minor combination events, but nothing as massive as D2.
Oh, and what about mercs that are schitzofrenic? Often those ranged shooters start to believe they're trained for melee combat.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
LMFAO yeah i used to hate my merc, and i used to talk to him (more like scream) stuff like you guys are saying like WTF ARE YOU DOING YA MORON, or "oh yeah just walk straight through diablo's wave of lightning, dont even have the normal human reflexes to move out of the damn way"
but...
then i got him an eth fort and a warpike ebotd...and now im like yeah you crazy son of a bitch go kick some ass lol

How about this idea for storage...
You either purchase or find a storage chest in gameplay. You can buy a small storage chest for lets say 2,000 gp and then later on, buy a much larger one for lets say 250,000 gp. I think that would improve golds worth in the diablo sanctuary.

anyone here played neverwinter nights? that inventory system was pretty good.
is that a Disk game? (like not some online free game that i might be able to quick DL and check out wut ur talkin bout XD)
yeh its a disc game. your inventory was similar to diablo but the bottom part (where most of your items are) is a bit bigger and divided into 6 pages which you can switch between., howver there is a weight restrcition.

i like the 'buying bigger storage over time' like OOT, as well as it's secondary use for gold.
in regards to transfering, i've been indecisive about a 'universal storage' since it makes the game a little more challenging when you are forced to use items found only by that one character rather than get it from another. on a contradicting note, at higher levels it may be better to xfer items between characters, especially items like sets/class specific uniques.

this is just me, but i think the storage was made so small because everyone would just hang onto items until the best deal came along. ppl have to sorta trade to make room for better items that suit them. although, i do agree w/ lord surfer.
Well...how about having a more realistic storage method in D2/D3. How about you have seperate storage chests in different acts? Say you find a shako in act 3 (when I found my first beating hell high coucil). You then stash it in the act 3 storage, but as you progess in the game to act 4 and 5 you have an empty stash to store whatever you find in that act. That way you can have 4 to 5 stashes per character. But maybe doing it that way can conflict in remembering which character/mule has what lol.

I still think something like NWN could work (see screenshot above).
but yes something needs to be done. well i suppose iventory size on your character is pretty good, but there should be an easier way to trade items between characters, like a "realm" stash, that all your characters can use, well assuming they are all on the same realm, ladder and mode.
it would be weird if you has a US WEST HC ladder character and were able to trade an item to an US EAST SC non ladder character.
much like entering games, a HC character shouldnt be able to access the same storage facility as a SC one.

I think it would be nice if in Diablo 3 your character didn't have to have such vagabond status and could therefore stash a much larger amount of things.
not sure about sotrage space, but one thing i noticed was it looks like -all- items take up the same amount of space, which imo is REALLY odd. a helm and an axe were both the same size, there was no difference....

You should not have a shared bank I think that is what is being proposed here. The idea of being able to see what is on other characters with a tab is intriguing but I still think there should be a price for muling and inconvenience is not a bad price when what your swapping for is a convenience.
