One thing I would like to see in Diablo III are the wounds you are inflicting on your enemy. I want to see slash marks and gushing blood, and limbs being chopped off. And I want to see them start on fire and smolder when they are dead on the ground. I want sparks and smoke to come off them when they are killed from lightning attacks. I want to see them freeze and shatter, but not melt away entirely.
i would like to see in diablo III that like the really tough bosses, not the big ones, like the same size as a hero, have there own equipment, as if a enemy had an enigma o.O.... thats different but would be funny to see that. a Pindleskin with a EBOTD CB!???!!
If anything, "smart" bosses would be fun. It just doesn't make sense when the only thing you do is run up and hold down the mouse button and click the occasional health potion.
Something of a combination between an Oblivion Knight, a Black Soul, coupled with Hoarfrost, Lightning Inferno and "Skull Lightning" (or whatever that thing is Mehpisto shoots) and we have a nice boss.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.

With the new graphics engine this would be easily possible, whether or not they actually decide to use it on diablo III is another matter.
I really hope they use the new system in Diablo, but keep the same diablo format. MMO style diablo isn't very fun sounding, I would like to keep it to players in rooms, maybe at max 25 players and tougher smarter mobs. Just like before the more players the harder the mobs so that the game is still solo playable.
(but not corny looking with halo's and horns, thats good for fable but not for dia )
good to see that someone else has played Fable and agrees with me.
almost time for a repost i guess then.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
i think that the gear in d3 should be more based off d2 classic items them xpac... like no charms and no rune words, kinda gets confusing and a lil rediculous when u got something adding 7skills... thats why i only play classic, its got resonable gear. other then that all the ideas so far are good

Naaa man, u need runewords and charms, that wouldnt be diablo, with out charms and runewords. thats y i like this game.
it could be diablo without runewords and charms. d1 is diablo and it didnt have them, lol
though i would expect them to feature in d3.

yah i think they're going to add more. So far its Charms and Jewels and Runes. i think they're going to add some other things which would fall under that category.
not really sure what such a thing would be. runes, charms, jewels, gems (and Skull)
think they have just about everything covered. maybe more magical body parts. those you wouldnt want it getting stupid like finger or toe, so maybe teeth and maybe ears, and thats about it. peoples make necklaces out of teeth and ears. though with ears having no properties i dont really seem them being used to imbue a weapon with new powers.

underage, we gotta have runewords, its more interesting to try to collect the runes and make them for betta trades. And if u dont trade, get a charcter to a lvl to use it.
-could throw in some cultural references to pop culture and other games for fun;
baldur's gate had a character called sir Garrick and he was modeled on sir robin from monty pythons holy grail, (he even sang the song brave, brave sir……), Warcraft had wirt’s other leg, and WOW has wirt's third leg
Diablo 3 could have a sorcerer called Tim or an npc called Roger the Shrubber, or a Knight who says ‘Ni’ or an item called the Doomhammer
Ick! NO!
I don't want any obvious references to anything other than Diablo.
Also, you speak of the game like its going to be more MMO styled.
That, too, I wont really like. Keep it similar to the way it is.

you do realize there was a dirk in d2 called the diggler. Dirk Diggler is a character from the movie boogie nights.
also there was a sword, a scimitar called the Blade of Ali Baba. Ali Baba as in Ali Baba and the 40 thieves, from Arabian Nights. Scimitars, are weapons used around the time the Abi Baba story is supposedly set.
Diablo II also uses the concept of undecidable figures to represent the "Arcane Sanctuary" level, since it is an extradimensional, magical construct of the wizard Horazon. Players are able to walk on a flat surface and find their characters below their starting point, similar to M. C. Escher's woodblock print Waterfall. The algorithm for impossible geometry was not difficult to achieve; instead, the program sees the level as a plane and the visual representations do the work of creating this effect. The level plays with and takes advantage of the limits of isometric projection.
Arcane Sanctuary
Waterfall
theres a distinct similarity, so you cant tell me Diablo doesnt on occasions reference popular culture and other such cultures.

I think I've seen that dirk. Thing is, never seen boogie nights, and so it wasn't an obvious reference. Even if I had, still not super obvious.
Small, inobtrusive, subtle references I'm okay with. But I'd rather keep them to a minimum.
I know Blizzard is going to make references to other things. They pretty much always do. But me personally... I think that Diablo should be relatively free of such. Just doesn't fit the atmosphere as much.
while its true WOW deals with most of the pop cultural references i think certain things could be in diablo, but they would have to be in context, which is why i went with something from Monty Python's The Holy Grail. is set roughly the same time as Diablo. im not taking about a reference like in WOW where you have Larion an Muigin, who are obviously Mario and Luigi.
also let us not for get the Cow Level in D2. its only there to quell rumours that started with the first one, and also because Starcraft didnt do that great a job of proving that "there is no cow level".

Ah, well, thats true. About the cow level, I mean. Thats still more of an in-reference for Blizzard though, seeing as how, like you stated, came from Diablo and referenced in Starcraft.
I guess I'll restate. I'm OKAY with SOME references, but not too much.
And Blizzard referenced Monty Python's Holy Grail in Warcraft, so lets try something new. (:
WOW can pretty much reference anything, its suppose to be fairly light hearted and comedic, Diablo is much more serious, so for it to reference something it would have to be like i said earlier, in context.

thats a pretty cool pic, i suppose something like that could be done. d1 had some pretty mutilated bodies in hell. then some how d2 lots all the scariness.
