Well let's look at the Necromancer's storyine then shall we?
Stated in Diablo lore, the Necromancers had no allegiance with Good or Evil, so much as 'balancers' between the two, if one side tips over the balance, they are there to fix it.
And also, from, a previous thread in this forum, we have came to the conclusion that the necromancer class is indeed the one who destroyed both Diablo's and Mephisto's soulstones.
Now, if the Necromancer was indeed the one who destroyed the soulstones, wouldn't this be a great impact of the paladins? A lone wanderer who dwelt within magicks of the dead defeated evil where a Zakarum Paladin could not? A jealously sequence might occur here
I like that thinking.
It's true the Necromancer is an essential char to Diablo lore.
It's really up to Blizzard whether they decide to keep him in or not tho.

My friend only played the pally because he was black.
Does anyone think they'll have another Black character is the pally is gone, that is if they don't implement character color options?
Just a question he just asked me.

Watching 240 guys talk trash about cavaliers is like two retards having a slapfight over a sippy cup.
Necromancers will probably return.. they are what Druids are to Warcraft - preservers of the nature of the world or whatever. Seriously! a guy that can summon an army all by himself is surely not gonna get owned by the events that happened

I would like to see some better graphics in this game... all blizzard games look like the same shit as all their games.. they all look same as before just bit "Shinier"... would like to see some inprovement as far as this goes.
Graphics are not a big part of Blizzard games because they focus on gameplay over graphics.
You should know this if you play Blizzard games... I have played most of them and I love them even if the graphics aren't the newest top of the line graphics.
The gameplay is top of the line and that is why WoW and Diablo and Starcraft all sold MILLIONS of copies, people care more about FUN and GAMEPLAY then graphics when it comes down to it it is a game... Do you know what games are for?
i hope d3 still has the same loot system, like in d2, so if you wanted you could be an asshole and just jack other's items it just matters on your clicking speed + skills with the mouse

Has it even been confirmed that the Necromancer is out, or is this just paranoid assumption? I'd like to see him as a re-imagined character for Diablo III, but if he wasn't included I'd like the game all the same.

Don't try to be a great man, just be a man... and let history make its own judgment. -Zefram Cochrane, Star Trek
I personally loved the necro the ability to summon undead corpses and revive stuff with triple health was awesome.
I'm not saying that the wiitch doctor isnt awesome to cuz i love the way they designed it
i dont see why its getting all that hate.
I love the necro, i doubt we will see him @ releasre though, since there is allready one summon class in the game, maybe we will get him in the first expansion.
I think the Witch Doctor is a perfect 'replacement' for the Necromancer. He's kinda from the same general background... dark magics, etc. He's pretty much got corpse explosion already and the locusts are pretty similar to the poison abilities the necro had already. He'll be tough enough to fill the absence of ole Nek, I think.

oh damn that sucks lol... getting your loot stolen is gay especially if it was like a super item and you killed the monster all by yourself, also an even xp distrubition would be good, so if your hunting with a party you can evenly share xp,or you get as much xp as the damage you dealt to the monster or a party which shares both loot and xp (for an example you randomly get an item that one of your party members picks up, like if there are 6 people in the party and 6 items, each player gets one, randomly making it fair. as long as you dont whine about someone "stealing" one of your items
The Necromancer should return for the sake of the story at the very least.
From what I've read digging into the lore they have on the new site it seems that the Necromancers have been blamed for the disasters that have happened in the previous games. I do think that they are a great lore figure but do to their creepy nature I don't think the average towns folk trust them. More than likely they have all but been pushed to a humble few or turned to darker purposes. We still don't know what the destruction of the world stone really did, it might have removed any connection with Trag'ol the being who helped guid the Necromancers to their values.

FUN....
Callew, read the quote
They even stated that the witch doctor was not a replacement for the necro.
Jesus people.
Edit: As a playable character, I doubt he'll return.
It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
Link to vid/statement/ or whatever else you have on that?
I guess I missed that one.
