I think there should be a search skill so you can find really hidden loot which would be really awsome loot. Like "Chance to find magic item" but instead "Chance to find hidden item". Keep them both but I think it would be cool to search for it. You can add it to the skill tree or use rings, amulets etc. or both to increase your chance to find. They would be extra places, not the normal ones like chests and bookcases etc. Remember the wall in the jail level you pushed and opened, but it will only open if your skill was high enough. There would be no way to tell anything is there unless you succeed.
I think in Diablo three, there should still Runewords, but an updated system that would include:
-"Old Fashion" Runewords (Have items with auras when you where them like in Diablo 2)
-Runes that can be used individually
-Special Runewords that can fail but if it succeeds, it will be very powerful. (There should be code that generates when items are dropped/bought/made that determines if it fails or not.
-And the ability the see the runes place in the sockets. (Either melding with the equipment or put in physical sockets.
-Items that change in appearance (Example: Glow) when made into completed runewords
-New runes with names that have meaings like in Diablo 2
And about the low rune that dropped in the trailer, I think that might have been identifiable so that people can sell runes as LOW, MEDIUM, or HIGH runes in Diablo 3 instead of specific runes and gamble on what rune it will be.
Assuming you're debating Runewords:
I wouldn't mind seeing Runewords, but I don't want any more "overpowered" Runewords, such as Enigma, etc. It totally throws off the balance imo. Good Runewords are fine, but not to the same level as right now on D2 Bnet.
the idea of "secret codes" being on the runes, or whatever you were saying, might sound alright on paper, but everything that is secret would be exposed all over fan sites in about an hour and a half.
Don't agree with all of them. The stash for example, should definitely NOT be made infinite. The whole point of the small stash was to force you to not hoard items (with mules this was really useless) and to make you choose what to keep. Also, as far as a TP skill goes, it was cool in Diablo 1, but Diablo 1 wasn't really made to be played online. I think D2 was better without it.
What i think would be tight is randomly placed -out of town- merchantsthat u can gamble from and they sell powerups/accesories
-merchants really hard to find(1-2 in a 3 mile radius area)
-found in a group of 3-6 other survivors in a well hidden or hard to reach place, like a small hovel in a dark room
-money will have to have value for this system to work(not just used to repair/buy potions like in diablo2), like WoW type currency system
-merchants and surrounding survivors are mortal but are safe from monsters unless you lure monsters too them or kill them urself
-click 'gamble' to access a display of items (stats dont show), then take a risk at a large amount of gold/money for a crappy or very good item
-click 'purchase' to buy stat showing accesories or potions/powerups
I'm pretty sure they are planning on implementing a few of these. in one of the panels I heard them saying they were going to make it easier to transfer items between your characters.

I meant, a code that generates when an item drops (Computer code, hidden...)
that determines if it can be turned into one of the "advanced" runewords that can fail
The ability for male and female characters to have sex with eachother, allowing for the production of offspring which can either be sold or trained as pets. Male characters can also engage in same-sex mating with eachother to gain experience, and females can do it just to make the game better. However, all this means the game's graphics need to become much more realistic.
Yeah... I have no idea what is wrong with this post.
I think traveling merchants would be a good idea, personally. Depending on the circumstances, one can spawn in certain places that would sell hard-to attain items. Perhaps even certain items that can only be bought from these merchants.
However, I don't think the gold will have much value in this once again, ether. Based on the gameplay trailier gold seems to drop on a regular basis.
While i think of it here's something else. After watching the gameplay video i noticed that the items in the inventory is no longer a big image who shows the weapon completely but just a tiny square. I would like the items to appear bigger in the inventory so i can see and appreciate the artwork, especialy the ones of the unique gear.

Lmfao! I love every post that you post.
Let's just have the same system as before? Everybody seemed to like it.

Im taking all my ideas from hellgate london lol
I don't see why you should gamble with them, but I think just out-of-town merchants are interesting.
