@vans: Huh? Do you mean mix some weapons and have a small chance of getting an awesome one? You can actually do that, I have a friend that beat Uber Tristram with Blood items and stuff, the ones you forge.
He is mentioned in that paragraph by the way

I just got an idea! What about chat filters to weed out internet lingo and display it in good English? I think it would help the game atmosphere- it would seem less weird from transition from reading player text to reading npc text.
In pvp, instead of every ear taking up 1 inv space, would it not be fAR better for every char to start with(or be able to find/purchase) an 'ear chain' which act's like an album, to which you can deposite any ear you want to to keep track of the smacktalkers u have pwnd. Ears should be stackable.
I would even go so far as to say when you pwn someone they drop a random bodypart, legs, ears, eyes, teeth, ect. Possibly something could be created in the h cube (if there even is one in d3) from different level char's body parts, like it would be super rare to see a lvl 90+ char drop an eye, maybe as rare as finding a HR or something, while you will almost always see arms, ears and legs, which could be used in useful potion combinations or something.
I just think it would be awesome to tell someone you just killed you are making a powerful shield from their teeth , also the teeth would be visible in the shield and some kind of acknowledgment towards the player would be viewable, like "RIP, (insert your name), and the date it was made 09/09/09.
I just always hated not having enough room to keep my foe's ear's on my pvp char.

If you don't like someone's ideas, please keep it to yourself, where it belongs. I see a lot of horrid suggestions that could never work, even in my own idea's but I can still fantasize can't I.
I know I go to far sometimes, I do not need to be belittled. Thank you.

i have always thought that you should keep ears on a string and wear it like a necklace (string of ears :)) and i like your idea of it acting like an album. that way you could always pick up ears when u dont have any room in your inventory. i dont know about the body parts and the cube though... pvp should not be necessary for cube recipes.
What i want to see in the game is blocking as a key stroke, and the ability to parry with a sword. that way pvp is more based on skill (reaction time). i dont know how they would balance that though.
I've just had an interesting thought.. i dunno if someones already mentioned this but you know when you are trading between two people online? How about when you are in the trading window you can have another window where you can take an item that the other person has, the programming would include safe guards to disallow the item from being stolen, and put it in this "dummy" window and it would show how the item would affect your stats? Is it just me that thinks this would be an interesting idea?

String of ears! F'n Perfect!!! I think everyone should have one in pvp, and I'm hoping that it will be clearly visable. (If your duel'n a barb with 100 ears on his string you should be able to see a clusterf of ears on him)
I know, sometimes I go to far with the body parts , Imagine arms and legs and teeth and eye's hanging off it too...
I agree tho with the thought pvp should be based on real time reaction time, but it must have that unknown factor, (no matter what kind of char/build u chose in LOD at least one different type of char had a huge advantage on you) (ex: light zon vrs shockerdin)
It is incredibly hard to balance as many characters as they did as well as they did. So we know they have what it takes to live up to their predecessors. People say that the heart of Blizzard was divided, I say that it never left. Diablo Three will show us the awesome power of Blizzard Ent. still rules.
I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet but what about being able to play both sides of the story? In one you can be all the humans characters and then once you beat the game or something like that you can play the demon side? maybe a good thing for single player but it would be cool to have a choice of humans and demons and the multi-player. This wouldn't be like WoW, just humans and hell spawn. sound interesting anyone?

Hello All ! ! ! My first post/reply here on D3.com . . . I'm so Excited =) . . . Ok, and i'd love anyone else's opinion on my idea...Now, as i have played diablo ever since it was released, i loved having quests to follow and the game basically "set" for me and all i had to do was follow guidlines. but think of this everyone. i've seen "relations" to this theory but i'm saying it like this, would you like the fate of your journey to defeating the Deamons be in the depths of your own decisions??? like one action causes 1 thing as another action in the same situation would've caused another one. but since technology is SOOOOO amazing now-a-days there would be endless possibilities as to how your game could go/end? Just something i was thinking about now . . . what do you guys think about this concept ? ooooh, and has neone been on planetdiablo.com recently? i read on there that D3 was "basically" announced! idk if the information on there is LEGIT, but if it is then that would be pretty frickin awsome, would it not? ... here's the link, so you can check it out, lemme know what you think of that also :). http://www.planetdiablo.com/features/articles/d3-04012008/
Another brainwave has come through and I was wondering if anyone thought that the AI for the buddy that you get in D2 is a little slow with the get go to attack? The merc that you get in act three is tremdously powerful (with upgrades of course) but ive been noticing that when you are walking through tunnels and w/e else they get trapped behind a wall easily and leave you to fend for yourself. I coaped with it but now it gets really annoying. Also, he seems slow to attack other monsters in some situations. Am I crazy or does anyone else feel the same way?

I want beer in Diablo 3 (and no its not a joke ;)) I saw beer, liquers, vines and other alcohol in other games like Icewind Dale 2 if im correct they gave some bonuses to stats for some minutes
Thats sounds like what they did in Fable. Only you got incredibly drunk and the screen goes blurry lol. But all in all an interesting idea

I definitely agree with most of what you said, Troller. Although I would want the lowest possible requirements, I'd really like the game's graphics to be superb and to last... If that means high requirements, so be it.
I just want the game to have a long story and mostly linear game play. I don't want the game to be short; however, I also don't want to run around for hours doing random side quests.
Not sure how I feel about character creation. If multiplayer is upped, then I could see the use of having it. But the single-player side of me would want a fixed portrait. I'm pretty anal about how my character looks and often I end up hating my own creation after just a few hours.
Skill sharing is definitely on my "Please don't do it, Blizzard" list. It works in a game like Guild Wars but it would fuck up a game like Diablo.
Jeru5, I don't understand why you want beer in the game. It's a bit too silly. And not the good silly like a secret cow level!
Also, I'd want them to keep out things like emotes. God, I hate them.
When will ya be done, and what website or program are you using and where can I find it to make my own Diablo 3. I love games, but can I do programming in this program. I wonder.
I agree with skywalker. Since graphics are getting better and better these days i would rather have a high graphics requirement for something like this then the original D2 graphics.

I am getting a bit annoyed that some things in Diablo II are not apparent at all, are mentioned on websites or manuals, but not inside the actual game. Never did I know that melee weapons in the game actually had range, besides spears. Or that certain types of armor slow the character down. For some mysterious reason, item range didn't fit on weapon description, well, I can understand that. The game is old, space is little, but I need so somehow find out that, yes, weapons have range, and the range of each such weapon, without going to a website or reading a file that I may not even have with my version. Make it an in-game encyclopedia, if you wish.
The range of melee weapons is so small that it doesnt matter realy...
Well, I have 2 questions then:
a) if it doesn't matter why is it even there? I always treated all weapons as having 0 range...
if it's there, it should be visible. E.g., you kinda missed the point of what I said. I don't care if it's pointless or not. I want to know about it.
This is just purely a thought of mine. But say bare handed may have a range of 0. A claw or dagger with a range of 1. Certain swords, clubs, and such with increasing range. I did not research the ranges of any items, but maybe they go into the formula for damage or ability calculation?
