Something I would like to know from General_Ryan about D3 is:
1. System requirements.
2. If there will be any directx10 features.
I can assure u that D3 will have high system requirements...
Im going to get a new Pc when it comes out just to make sure i get to play it at its max settings... Of corse no one know the exact spec but im sure the min will be like 1.8 , 512 , 256Vcard maby 128 but i dout it.. if its using this havoc engine then it will be like doom 3 or 4 what ever the new one is so your ganna need a beast to run in clean... Just to buy a 3.0 2G duel Gforce 7900s
Hello, my fellow brothers in arms, haven't been on in a couple of days and wanted to see if there was anything new. Well looks like no new information about General Ryan's findings. Another thing I would like General Ryan answer for us is 3d graphics, gameplay compared to D2, and more detail about D2 characters switching over to D3.

This would never be in Diablo 3. If that were the case, you could never power down potions and continue attacking at the same time. You would have to wait for the Animation to end, before you started to attack again. That is very Un-Diablo-like.
Titan's quest did this, and it slowed down the Gameplay so much.
The only way I could see this happening is if you were in town, and that were the only place it would play the animation. So if you took a potion in a hostile enviorment i.e. Blood Moor, it wouldnt play the Animation.
This is highly unlikely. They wouldnt spend time making the animation just so it could be seen in town and not where else. Especially when there is a healer in town i.e. Akara and there is no need to use a potion at all.
We all know that the converting D2 chars to D3 chars is bogus, and i have a hard time thinking of interesting spell ideas for the Chronomancer, (Blizzard wouldnt make an interesting char like the Chronomancer and make his spells like Time beam [a beam of time that hurts enemies]) I could see Chronomancer in a single player game, where you could technically go backwards in time ingame, but multiplayer games, this would be impossible.
And starting off in Harogath seems kind of like a weak beginning to such a prestigious title.
All of this leads me to believe that General_Ryan and/or his accomplices could be just tooting their own horn.
So imma go ahead and be a newb sense i am one on here the very first Trailer seems real enough to me but is it fake too... if it is you all got my hopes up : (
Oh, you're so right. This completely sucks. Diablo is a hack'n'slash, no times for sissies to drink potions. So yes, this is completely BS. And if it's true, so the whole game is BS.
Or maybe he can fight and drink a potion at the same time... A third arm ? No i don't think so... So, should we consider all that stuff as :
- Diablo 3 is likely to suck

EDIT : Oh, and Havok is in ? Yay, a physics engine for a hack'n'slash... Ok, so it means there are things you CAN'T control. This is a hack'n'slash, right ? With the inclusion of physics, this game becomes a hack'n'probably-it'll-slash,-depends-of-physics...

its a fact that stopping each action to drink a pot isnt the best thing to have. I've seen that in all Gothic games and its one of the things that indeed slow the gameplay down and i dont really like (having to run away from monsters, pop a potion, run back again). WoW has a small animation that gets interrupted while attacking. It also happens alot that instead of a weapon u see a bottle on ur hand while hitting a monster. Not quite realistic either, dont u think?
Playing an animation or not while drinking a potion is a minor thing. I dont believe anything i read on this thread cause theres nothing to prove them. Nothing anyone couldnt have thought by themselves. I always expect from Blizzard the best, and usually i get it. I'm patient and dont believe anything without evidence.
All I'm saying is, it SHOULD be in the game and it should stop your current task in order to show the animation for drinking the potion. If the gameplay gets slowed down because of it, then good. At least it's more realistic.
i do think taht whatever they do wont make the game slow down or fuck up. i think they realise diabo is all about click click death stab pow actiona and not about WOW animations. i really want some Hard evidence ah wells what can one do.
i want d3 like d1 and d2 without animations only a click-slash and kill many demons and other stuffs in the way... of course also a good story haha....

No NO NO they should just slow the healing process down a bit so u cant dive into a group of monsters and rely on potions to stay alive it will take a bit more skill and tactics
First. the people wanting the animation. i just gotta say. stfu go kill urself plz. in chaos runs and baal runs. do u have time to watch urself drink a potion while fanat+fast+cold aura venoms chase u down? or the council guys in baal with -res aura + w/e they come up with. no i dont think so. play the game some more and ull find out just how quick a animation would suck.
2nd. demind. have u ever had a hdin, have somone release infector of souls or lord de seis on top of u, and u spam ur 1-4 buttons to keep ur hp up with red pots? no u cant tank with a red pot in anything that is worth killing in hell. the only hope u have of living thru those is if u got full juvs or a merc who will take the first few hits while u hammer.
The said animation on the whole is a stupid idea. Whether he made it up or not whoever gave the idea shud be shot and killed. whether it be a blizzard employee or himself. let d3 be like d2 and d1. the only thing we want is a story and items. i wana go invisible or some shit this time. and i actually think that time mage thingy could work. maybe not going back in time all the way. but certain things u can do.

Guess what guys, Baal runs are cheap. I hope that they make it so that its extremely difficult to make boss runs for uber items. I hope they have the animation. I also hope that the game has havok. Titan quest has physics and it has absolutely no affect on whether or not you hit a monster. If anything, it will make it easier to hit monsters so stop bitching. Some of you guys need to get a life seriously. How many of you make references to Diablo in real life. Let's say you are talking to someone you work with and they are telling you how hard it is to do their job. Do you ask him if he has ever made a Baal run in Hell mode? Yes, you probably do.
if you want the gameplay to slow to drink a potion (character stops moving, takes off his weapon, takes a potion, drinks it, gets his weapons again) in the middle of the fight then go play the Gothic series (especially 3). Its pretty good and very realistic. theres some hack & slash action too, if u manage to stay alive long enough. Diablo is supposed to have fast action. maybe add a cooldown on each potion would be alright, but not make u stop everything u do to drink a pot. Its nothing like what Blizzard used in their games till now (Warcraft 3, Diablo 1 & 2, WoW).
about Havoc, the only thing i can think of that would make it interesting gameplay-wise and not spoil the usual Diablo gameplay would be traps. Nothing more. Applying physics on everything would make it from strange to annoying. (Woot, the ranged attack classes arrows/javelins fall down after a few meters and dont hit the target they're ment to hit!)

The only reason making an animation is a bad idea is because it slows the gameplay down. D1/D2 didnt have it. D3 shouldnt have it either.
Right... and I guess they shouldn't add more monsters or items either because D1/D2 didnt have them... right?
