why would you need to ever have more than 8 people there
You were in a clan channel, maybe. But otherwise I would agree with you.

I believe this was asked already to the blizz team, and they said they are already considering it, and since they already have it in WoW they don't see a reason not to have it in Diablo III. or the new version of bnet alltogether.
Yes I recall something about that. But perhaps in the interest of covering both bases, we should look to a ventrilo server or a similar program. Otherwise is a multiperson chat on Xfire.

Why is everyone so pro vent? Vent SUCKS. Use teamSpeak, it is so much better, i think it offers better quality and its free. But im a wc3 player so of course thats my preference

I'm only pro vent as it was the only one I knew of and really used.
If someone has a decent sized server on say team speak or another program, I will gladly use it to communicate with you guys, even got a new mic for d3.

Vent is free also if you host it off of your own comp or a friends, we used to do it for a lot of games.
i tried using vent so many times but something always went wrong, it was buggy way back when i tried to use it. And also theres no limits on# of users in a said room, its perfect for small groups or even 50 man wow raid groups

Never had bug problems with Vent, no limit of users on Vent either that I know of. We've had plenty on at once.

fawk ventrilo.
Fawk teamspeak.
Super-fawk x-fire.
Hated them all. If diablo has embedded mic, I will freaking explode with joy, and scream into my friend's headsets constantly, causing them to snap the sets in half so they can't hear me celebrate how much faster I kill monsters. And I will see that it is good.
wow, that is some diablo 3 mic harassment xD
I'm happy with skype and my Fatal1ty headset

I don't know if anyone suggested this before but say if someone has.
What do you guys think about microphone communication added, I mean you could still communicate through typing but you could also talk with a microphone. A someone good example would be like the game counter-strike if you ever played. Also if someones being annoying you have the option to mute them.
Not a bad suggestion but blizzard dosen't like using outside products anyway with most pc games I play with I play with friends and we use skype if you have ever heard of it you can have up to I think 8 ppl at the same time using mics

Ok, I won't fawk skype. I just really don't want to rely on the baby-blue computer program while I play a dark and bloody rpg. Also, I love that headset!!!
But shouldn't Blizzard be dscouraging the use of outside programs? It seems to me tha an embedded mike option would be great.
I'd like it as well. You could always mute, ignore etc such as you can with text.
Vent could be odd for public games trying to get connected. It would be very easy with friends of course, but I like to play with randoms as well and I can only see a mic option as a benefit.

"The gaming public now has focus on Diablo again, and with it comes the modern-age of trolling and jackassery."
Some people are way to obsessed with chatting via microphone. Sometimes I wanna sit and listen to music while I play or have the TV going or listen to in game sound. Its hard when you got some D-bag blaring into your ear. They said they are making it a co-op game so Im assuming it will be advantageous to play with others, it will be harder to find people that don't have to blurt into a mic to play.
Advantages: Faster communication in a small group setting
Don't have to take your hands off game controls
Disadvantages: Hard to listen to music or immerse yourself in the in game sound effects
Some people don't shutup and think they are always on the cutting edge of wit
If you miss what someone says they have to repeat it as opposed to checking a chat log
In larger groups people start talking all over eachother
Headphones/mics become uncomfortable after a while
Dialects or Microphone quality can cripple understanding between two people
In the event Blizzard does not include their own ingame microphone service, does someone have, or is willing to host a ventrilo server, or a server on/for a similar program?

I hate team speak, the quality wasn't as good.
