I would prefer it not to get as dark as Diablo 2 did, though. Not being able to see anything except in your character's radius was annoying and pointless. Or is it my gamma setting? In my crappy Russian version, this didn't happen.
Titan Quest Graphics could work, they dont look all that taxing on your comp. plus its somewhat Isometric (esp the top pic).
a bit darker, but not to the point where you need to tweak the shading or have mad Light Radius to see what your doing.
but then again (and i may be alone) i love the graphics of something like Baldur's Gate II , they are a little odd but i dont think it would take much to clear/sharpen them up
ok those shots are pretty light, but some of the scenes from the Underdark (not shown) are pretty dark.
i wonder if i should edit my first post to include screenshots of the games in the poll?

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
screenshots would be a good idea, cuz im sure not everyone has played all of the games on the list...i havent played the might an magic or even seen screenshots of it so it would be nice to have examples of each game.
BG looks awesome, if you ask me. The thing is, BG is a 3D render. Therefore, we can have a game today, that renders pretty much the same stuff as in BG... but... in REAL TIME!
i love that game, the graphics look really nice, and its an old game, so pretty much any computer can handle it, my old win98 comp could take BGII.

ok ill work on getting them up today, have to go to work, so they should be up by tomorrow.

If you render that in 3D, Elfen, not every computer would be able to handle it. That is my point. Today, we may just be able to do something like that.
i was just commenting on the fact that almost any computer can run BGII, and thats good.
but yeh if they were to render it and or improve the graphics the number of computers able to run such a game would be reduced sigificantly.
but still for 2000 or whenever it was that it came out, you have to admit those are pretty good graphics. some of today's graphics arent quite as good as BGII, IMHO

yeah diablo 2 and titan quest have the most desirable for the diablo series i think...maybe them graphics engine should be improved to a little bit better, but generally diablo's graphics are pretty amazing, lots of detail and that always better then anyhting.

Submerged rage writing unspoken words
but yeh update the DII graphics engine, sharpen/clear it up so stuff doesnt look so superimposed on the background like the druid in werebear form did.

That's where opinions split. Some people like WoW's graphics, some don't, but I think most people agree that WoW's graphics don't fit the Diablo theme too well.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
I hear you. I like all kinds of graphics too. And I also think that given the mood and ambiance of Diablo games, the graphics will really need to reflect that in order to feel threatened and genuinly in danger. That's what I love about Diablo games. The threat feels real. You really feel like there are things at stake, things to be lost. And the look of Diablo is a big part of getting that feeling across.
And people have criticized that the graphics for Diablo I and II aren't very good. But really when you think about it, if you are viewing people from that high above, it's not going to appear very detailed anyway.
Oh man, have you played Doom 3 much? I've never saved in a game so much in my life. I've gotten braver the second time around beating it. But my first time, that game just creeped me out too much. And I felt like each kill was a major victory and I had to save it afterwards.
At first, I thought the way it was so creepy and claustrophobic was kind of irritating cause it never felt like you were rewarded for all those intense moments you had to endure. Kind of like in Halo, where for awhile, things would be intense, but then you'd be rewarded by going into an open area with a contingent of marines and just blowing stuff up in a gleeful kind of way.
However, as I began to reevaluate Doom 3, the whole closed-in spaces, creepiness, etc, is what I truly came to appreciate about it. I've had lots of dreams about Doom 3 since. I'm usually firing the BFG 9000.
I actually thought DooM III was a pretty good game. Except I never felt like returning to it, but I really enjoyed the 3 days I spent finishing it on my computer.
And I know what you mean, Dopple, heXen terrified me in the old times...
I never played Doom3, at that time my computer couldnt possible handle the graphics and i kinda forgot about it later on.
But i was 8-9 years old when i played DOOM and i remember i was -when i first played it a couple times- to afraid to go past level3 or something
btw isnt there a version of DOOM3 with exp on xbox or something?
Yeah, I played it on the Xbox. It works on the 360 too, but not the Expansion. I highly recommend it. It's got the most interesting music in it too.
