I'm not a huge season fanatic and mostly solo so I'm looking at what it will take to accomplish that last set of goals, and some are substantial for the casual player (under 700 Para NS).

My current WD could do this in his sleep but this is a new character subject to the RNG whims of the game, so a character that can gear with a relatively high chance of drop success and still make these kills fast enough is my conundrum.

Truthfully, ignoring these criteria I would like to do a DH or WIZ, are they viable down the road to get there?

Yeah, pretty much every class is going to be viable to finish the seasonal journey up to the stash tab fairly quickly. Depending on how you play, groups, etc... I wager it would take around 4-5 hours to hit lvl 70 (as a casual) and then around 25-30 hours to farm and get that tab.

Wiz are one of the best DPS this patch, and DH is right behind them, if at all to be honest. WD levels the fastest in my opinion, but if you are looking for something new, I think DH would be a good choice for you.

I love it when people say it should only take 25-30 hours. I want to really know what people are doing that cause this. For me with my life and responsibilities I am lucky to finish one or two steps of conquest. let alone all but the final one for stash tabs. Even with the time I get I probably played a good 50-100 hours last season never got past GR equivalent of T8 let alone speed running it. If people really feel it's that easy to even compensate for RNG and shite drops than please let me know what I am doing wrong. I guess I am just not "efficient" enough.

Though to answer the OPs question from the leaderboards and from my experience on PTR Wizards, WD, and DH are best for speed DPS

agree with Doc...i can only play an hour or two a day. But no complain, i just like to play with my Barb.

BS. Very few casual players will get Conqueror, period, and certainly not in that timeframe...

Either DH or Wiz should get you there easily.

DH will be better for T10 in under 2minutes which, in my opinion, is the hardest of conquests.

I mean, casual and bad are two different things to me.

I played for around 100 hours season 4 and finished the entire journey and got up to GR65 solo. I also geared all 6 classes to be able to efficiently run T8.

I see Neph rift in under 3 minutes? And that's Guardian lvl... 4 minutes for Conqueror.
Diablo at 1.5 minutes T10 might be harder... Of course none of that's solo except GRift 60 solo...and it says reach, not beat?

So far out of all the classes and sets I've played with this week, DH with marauder cluster arrow build is by far the easiest to play and pretty easy to gear (unlike many of the Legacy of Nightmares builds out there). Did a GR60 solo in about 5 minutes and it felt like I was playing Torment I, and that was with a non-ancient Manticore. By wearing Zoey's Secret, Wraps of Clarity, and a cubed Dawn, I had around 250m toughness. Other classes can certainly match DH dps, but that much toughness does not come so easily for them.
