-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.

first post. Reading some of the ideas from this thread reminds me of how Fable plays. Choosing your path alters both storyline and physical features. the Warhammer universe is similar in its use of worship (particularly with choas). First off, i also agree that all characters start out as human. I think it would be fun to worship/quest for different divinities of heaven and hell (i.e demons-Bhaal, Mephisto, and Diablo etc; and a set of powerful angels Tyrial and so forth). completing quests for demon dieties would grant gifts of physical alterations such as swollen skin or horns. Those who are on the side of Light gain Auras and Halos (kinda femme but im sure some cool stuff can be worked out). eventually by completing more tasks and serving the Dark/Light, players can become powerful Demons or Angels themselves. I'm assuming this'll be an MMO (from what ive heard it'll most likely be that). of course, if a player wishes to remain human, they can undertake the human quests and leave the divine quests to the aspiring celestial. I think "divine quests" could be rarer/difficult therefore making benifits such as wings and spikes more rewarding. Hope this sparks some imaginations!
I think it would be great to have a character editor that would let you choose everything about how your character looks from hair, eyes, skin, height, weight, even scars and tattoos and piercings, hair length, style, facial hair, what their voice sounds like, even their habits for standing still, rather than just swaying back and forth like a drunk. From there, you could choose your weapons, skills, etc, and it would still be linked, but there would be more variety. One could make a sorcerer with HIGH strength and many different enchanting spells, or an archer that would be able to fade from sight like an assassin. There would also be more armor you could wear, and different layers, too, like a light shirt under heavy armor. And also, the greater your strength when using an armor, the faster you would move with it. With these additions, I think that characters would be WAY more unique, with not so many people doing the same thing, like all those hammerdins with the same gear...
I'm 18, looking at colleges and thinking of jobs. I would love to work for videogame companies drawing characters and maps and stuff, but use only my pencils and stuff, never using a computer. The two companies I'd most like to work for are Blizzard and CapCom. Since Diablo 3 is in the making I'm sure they're looking for artists. I am among the top artists in the school, and with strictly pen or pencil, I'm ranked even higher. I'm in a college level class, and I'm always drawing in my other classes. If anyone knows about how I can get in on drawing for blizzard, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE email me at zambarano720@yahoo.com. I love drawing monsters, where imagination goes crazy, and with working for Blizzard, there'd be a LOT of crazy ideas to go around. I also like drawing people, and have drawn all different kinds of people, and sometimes I'll draw a whole separate picture just because I have an idea for a cool jacket or boots or weapon. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

lol, i think it would be tough to get quests from the enemies side...but let me elaborate on that thought. Example, as a character who is going on missions for the Dark, you will find yourself edging further away from the Light. If an angel or priest can feel the presence of your evil, they wont give you a quest, they'll try to kill you! however, if you havent done that many evil deeds AND have done some good deeds then they may give you the quest and therefore see you in favor. This would be traveling the thin path of neutrality, it would be the toughest path to travel but you would remain human as result. Now i know what your thinking...what about divine rewards (horns, wings, so forth)? First off, Completing quests for both sides will become increasingly difficult because they are aware you are working for the enemy. Human quests (neutral) can have equally as powerful rewards (an ARMY of Mercs, magical horse, etc). Sorry, id elaborate more on it but im late for work.
