It's like the dark side you start on the light and fall into the dark (so you either have a choice to stay on the light side or choose the dark side and the dark side has different skills than the light) the mortals have some of each (like people you got the cool people and the dumb shit people who don't give a fuck. and those in the middle who go along with the crowd) thats what the mortals are your on both the good and evil. (sorry if confusing some of you but thats the best way i can explain this)
what do you mean by good char bad char thing? in d1 and 2 you've ALWAYS been fighting for the LIGHT! not evil there has never been an evil side
thanks for stating the obvious but were jsut throwing ideas out there dude u dont have to shoot down everything this forum has to say..The best thing about this site is the mass amounts of different kinds of ideas we get...if we stuck to the same rules that d1 and d2 used we wouldnt have much too expect/want from d3 now would we
First time posting here, so be gentle if someone has mentioned this before. This isn't exactly an idea for a specific character type, but more like a way of using characters.
I was playing D2 the other day and I got an idea as I walked up to Gheed to do some gambling. What if instead of just controlling one character, you could have a few people traveling with you in a caravan. Maybe you can have a character who is an elderly person who is too old to fight and stays at the camp and acts as a shop keeper. You set up a tent like Gheed and that person can run a shop where you can sell or trade goods. So instead of selling your stuff for cheap at a shop in town, you can just sell them in your own shop and people can come to it to purchase items. Maybe you could also have a sign posted with items that you may be looking for and people can read the sign and offer to sell or trade an item with you. There could even be a sign the pops up if your character is away from camp that says someone has a trade they want to make. You could then open a window like the trade window in D2 and complete the transaction.
I also had another idea that would be like another form of a mercenary. Instead of just being limited to rogues or another specific type of merc based on what town your in, maybe there could be a system that randomly generates characters to be hired as a merc. I guess this system could be similar to how D2 generates magical items. This system would determine what spells/skills they have, what character type they would be, and so on. These characters would have their own equipment on them that actually shows on their character, unlike how D2 has generic looking mercs no matter what they equipment they have.
And maybe as your character goes on and becomes more well-known for the quests he/she has accomplished, mercs begin to approach you in town or even in the field and ask if they can fight by your side. Or maybe you could even take on apprentice who goes out with you and trains to be like you.
So this would mean you could have a caravan of 4 people traveling with you. The shopkeeper, your mercenary, an apprentice and your character. Just imagine your a cold and fire based sorceress with an apprentice learning the arts of lightning, and you have a barbarian or palladin like merc. Sure it may seem like it makes the game too simple, but then that means Blizzard can make the game more difficult to balance that out. I dunno, what does everyone think of my ideas?
think its a good idea..i like the whole shop keeper idea and trade window out of town..might get a lil messy though if somoene keeps "Paging" u to trade and ur in the middle of being overwhelmed by the forces of evil..especially trying to type to them to wait and getting slaughtered right then and there for takin 3 seconds to type
As far as the trade window getting messy goes, it can be handled as simple as the request to ally with someone. A simple message or icon won't get in the way. Or possibly just do away with the shopkeeper handling trades and let him handle purchases and your character can trade in a way similar to the way it does in D2.
And as for the apprentice goes, I was thinking it could be viewed as a merc who fights by your side, except maybe you could select the skills that they invest in.
ya, that would be interesting, and would add a new aspect to the game, and u could make the skills the opposite of urs so that if there was a monster that was immune to u, ur merc could take em out
ok guys i made this forum so we can talk about new char ideas and so far im da only one who made up some (vampire, samari, pirrate, egyption) and all i hear is about the good and bad thing altho you guyz have awsome ideas i wanna hear New char ideas with mapped out skills and such not trynna be a dick like N Awlin saying how were stupid cuase we had some creative ideas??? dude stfu we just forming the greatist game in the world so guys all your ideas are good and i belive diablo can go n e way so you can never defeat the purpose
we start out as mortals. The more devine interactiom either good or bad you take their form little by little just like moses getting old every time he saw god.
I think that Diablo 3 should return to the 3 main classes but under them have 2 subclasses. Maby a little something like this.
Melee
1) Templar-A warrior for the reformation of the church of Zakarum eager to slay the prime evils in order to bring honor and glory back to the name of Zakarum
2)Mercanary-A Warrior for the highest bidder, holds no particular alleigance.
Ranged
1) Monk-Archer priests whose arrows are blessed by the heavans
2) Bandits-Theives and scum of the earth who attack from the shadows murdering for gold and other riches. Sometimes bought for the highest bidder.
Magic
1) Magi-Decendants of the ancient Horadrim who dabble in Elements, Magic spells, and some sort of conjuring or summoning.
2) Shaman-Sorcerers belonging to tribes of the forest people, Well versed in pagan beleifs and spells given to them by demons thought to be gods.
Light sorcs do loads of damage but costs a lot of mana to be burned up plus lightning does low damage min to way high damage max which is ok if you do higher damage. i like the fire sorcs they do loads of damage but in hell the fire resis on the monsters takes away all the fun. orb is my favorite you just have to use it and bam it usually hits someone but it does pretty low damage
So if u were like a paladin for the dark side would there be like demonic hammer instead of blessed hammer and for dark sorcerors there would be like death orb instead of frozen orb or like what is goin on here
still not grasping the concept of heaven and hell thing sry
You fucking retarded ass sonofabitch! You seriously think you could cast a fireball at Gheed just because you were a n00b137 enough to gamble in the beginning of the game? Well i got a few words for you: NOT IN TOWN, MOUTHAFUCKA!
