Now I'm not here to support botters or anything, but are you really prepared to see the player base get cut in half? Also, everything in this game is player bound and betting only really provides someone personal benefit. The only exception see to this is players complaining that the leader boards are ruined by botters. That part is definitely true.
"The top Rank 1 players", "the popular people", are the Devs on reddit and DF, and streamers people KNOW have cheated? You said it 3 or 4 times, that the "community as a whole" has been working on it... This is just inflated ego, how did you all fit in the same room? You don't represent even the largest MINORITY of playerbase, and yet you claim to represent us all? If it was a community based "petition" if you would, where would people get the opportunity to sign it? You have an inflated sense of your own importance, and it's sad. I honestly hope they figure out a way to do something, at least reduce the bleeding, but logically speaking, there is nothing that can be done.
Case in point: Runescape's "Anit-Botter" Godwatch program, where it literally watched the game world, and auto detected 'bot-like' behaviour. Well, that is until it banned 180,000 innocent people, and even after reveresed, destroyed over 350,000 items. I kind of have to laugh at the people, who in this forum, have openly admitted cheating (on purpose, or by defending botting as a reprieve to keep up with no-lifers). You know it's a constant cycle, the bottom 10% can't keep up with the top 90%, so they bot, then the bottom 30% starts botting to keep up with them, then the bottom 70% bots to keep up with them, and finally the top 1% starts botting to show off that they are the awesomest people ever.
I'm sure this thread only exists so that top streamers have a written account of: "hey look at me Blizz, here is written proof that I don't bot. Please never ban me thanks. PS we are making money off your game just from streaming it" oh the sarcasm of it all, and so many unrealistic expectations of Blizz coming from the already spoiled playerbase.

1) Reported, and be glad you can hide behind a layer of anonymity on the internet, as your first sentence is quite the threat.
2) If you know of a better representative, please, by all means, come forth.
I get it, you're likely a botter. Keep it to yourself.

Let us be realistic here. Botting has always had an impact in the Diablo series and has always been met with ban waves. Now, they may not happen as frequently as many of us would like, but they do happen. Bans have already happened previously in Diablo 3 and they will LIKELY happen again. The responsibility is Blizzards to do. Let them do it and play your own game.
It should not take a letter penned by known and admitted botters, exploiters, and ToS breakers (not all of them, but they know who they are) to get the job done. Having some of the names you have on that list simply does not do a lot to protect the letters integrity.
It's also, effectively, a single player game. Bots will never top grift runs on ladder, and no amount of gear is going to equate to skill. Ignore it and move on.
I wonder about the motivation behind the letter too.
From what the majority of the community (minus the bozos that signed this open letter) , those botting are not treading on the leader boards that they covet.
Originally, Blizzard went after the botters and account sellers because they were making money off of the game. Remember "Pay to play" with the people buying the top gear off the auction house using a credit card?? With the Auction House gone, Trading gone and accounts tied to your DNA these days - Maybe Bilzzard should go after those streaming their game play and sucking money out of their viewers.... Or, maybe the streamers are catching on to that idea and trying to distract everyone with this crusade...
Any way,
Good letter - but wrong people promoting it.
Hahahahaha, bullcrap, play HC, i'm sure bots don't dare to run on HC. Why you think HC leaderboards are lower? Yeah stupid bots die and lose everything. You need human touch there.
Its not that easy to identify bots. just becase they have highplaytime, like 10-12 hours it doesnt mean nothing. Obviously if someone has average 20 hours/day, just ban.
Still, what happens if the account share within family? I know someone from Silkroad online, who shared his char with his dad and brother...
Botters has to be identified in other way than hours played.
So there was a bot ban wave the week before Season 4 started, a ban wave (hellfire bug, not bot related) several weeks ago... and another bot ban wave over the last few days which would seem to be direct action from Blizz in response to this open letter.
There have been multiple topics requesting bans before the season starts and at various times during the season... and they are obliging. It may not be the large sweeping changes that players want to see, but it's good steady progress nonetheless. Be happy. Go outside for some fresh air. Breathe.

No offense taken. There are folks in my clan that bot 24/7 and haven't gotten caught yet. Most of them botted 24/7 last year as well.
Just go to some of the support forums on the bot web sites and look at the ban reports. I hesitated to reply because I don't want to post a link to a bot site, but here is an example: (link removed)
Notes: Please don't post links to those kind of websites.

Well, that's only one website.
On one of the most if not the most popular bot community website, there are so far no reports of bans.
I think that people will slowly start losing their patience... We might see some big drama in the next few days

Blizzard doesnt care what people think, they dont even reply to real topics. Wasting your time as usual.
Turbo HUD is the real killer, i lost the count of how many times i wasted a grift because i ended in a dead spot or something.
One mind cannot contain all wisdom...

Botters has to be identified in other way than hours played.
Someone should create a petition that everyone who is interested in fighting against botters can sign in...
Maybe on a platform like openpetition.de (duh, its only germany, i know, it's just an example)

If blizz bans D3 botters, i will know, don't ask me how.
I play on EU cpy-2622. I consider myself average player.

Why you want to check my profile? You won't get any helpful stuff, i'm not pro.
