If they don't announce something, then I might continue to play but I'll shift some of my time to something like Fallout4 and/or the new Battlefront game. Stale Diablo or driving a friggin AT-AT? Decisions....
Indeed... I'm already on the border with this season, due to Disgaea 5 coming on 17th and Fallout 4 on 10/11. The next season will probably draw me back in if they add Melee DH's... If not... I dunno.
I really hope something good comes from Diablo if not that will be very sad.

If you want to arrange it
This world you can change it
If we could somehow make this
Christmas thing last
By helping a neighbor
Or even a stranger
And to know who needs help
You need only just ask
I'm really hoping they have a big surprise at the start of the ceremony and announce the expansion but it sounds like there will be additional new zones like the Ruins of Sescheron coming so if they keep adding new zones every 2-3 patches for another year I'd be happy with that though disappointed about the future of the game. Blizzard has though already supported D3 much better than they did D2 so I guess we can't complain too much? Hopefully though enough people ask about an expansion and pvp at Blizzcon that we see something or even at least hints on both fronts.
Not even a "What's new" or "the future or d3" but simply "Diablo III Dev Talk" ... which can easily be done in the forums.
wouldnt be surprised if they plug the cable in 2-4 years.
They're not going to announce anything secret on the schedule. Just because there's not a 'mystery chunk' dedicated to D3 doesn't mean there won't be an announcement.
Consider this ... it's the calm before the storm. Blizzard has been pretty quiet since 2.3 landed.
Wow, this is really sad news. I was really excited to hear where Diablo was headed but now it seems they are killing the game by released a few small patches here and there until the game dies. I will most likely quit if this is the case.
Why does no Blizzcon news mean the game is "dead"? It has more activity now than ever before with the revamped legendary items that keep pouring in, sets that are added, and now the cube. I personally see this game as "doing very well" or at least far closer to that then "dead"
If you have a reason, please help me understand why it would be dead all because there is no news on something, because Blizzcon is rarely the only source they use to unleash big news.
What is this thread about? Meaningless speculation. You have no proof or solid info about anything. So go back to whatever you where doing and come back when there is a definite schedule. Jesus.
The schedule posted at MMO-Champion has to be fake,
TL;DR
Unkown panels Epic Cosplay and you?, Machinima panel?
No World of Warcraft Movie panel
No Engineering Panel
Missing time from before The future of Starcraft and after which sums up about 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Opening Ceremony taking more time then previous blizzcon events.
Like previously mentioned there is no Engineering panel
There also seems to be unusual large gaps in between not talking about 5~10 minutes, if you look closely there are at certain places easily 20~30 minutes missing from the rest of the hour. compare this to previous schedules you'll see that the previous once were more timely accurate and not were people sitting for 20 minutes for nothing. Take a look at "The future of starcraft II" Also "machinima panel"? "Epic Cosplay and You"? seems honestly kind of awkward haven't seen those panels before.
So besides some of the panels are literally unknown, and this schedule seems very fishy.
I'm pretty sure and convinced this is a fake.
Just wait and see until blizzard uploads their official panels.
The Warcraft 3 HD-Remake is missing, too, but the list is not fake but a WIP it seems.
We might get something anyways. I doubt they would just spoil it with having a shittonne of panels now. Then people would easily understand that there was a expansion on the way.
They did hire people for a unknown diablo project. That much we know.
What's with all the negativity? Why does this game need an expansion for it to thrive? Each patch they add more and more content. If you are leaving because they are not announcing anything at blizzcon I feel bad for you. This game has made massive improvements over the course of RoS.
I'm loving all of this negativity in this thread so far. You realize that RoS wasn't announced at BlizzCon yes? So they don't reveal an expansion at BlizzCon, there are several other gaming expos that they could announce an expansion during. I mean we already know that they brought in new people for a Diablo franchise project.

People just want to know what the next expansion is. RoS was announced in August 2013, released in March 2014. That means the time frame puts it so the next expansion will have been released more then 2 years after the previous one. That's quite a long time, even with seasons and patches adding content.
Adding the Cube was a genius move, but it did not alter the content we are playing itself, nor the classes we are playing with. There's only so much repeating the current content you can do before it gets stale. I'm guessing judging by the reactions that for many people that time has just about come. We need a major shake up, which an expansion would provide. Adding a whole new act and a new class would begin a new age of replayability for many people.
So it's perfectly understandable people are upset that there's apparently no announcements yet, at a time that seemed perfect to make one. It's just disappointment.
X-Pac or not, the main problem still exists !
a few weeks into every new Season and it is boring again, we need some good end game alternatives
I am still having fun with the current season. There are a lot more things to do this season than the last.
There is still a competition for leaderboard spots and coming in a month or so they will open the PTR again for the new patch.
My guess is there are a lot of people who try to go hard at the very beginning trying to keep up with the leaderboards and get burnt out. It takes a special kind of person to compete for first. I would suggest either playing Normal or taking it easy in the season. There is tons of gear and ancients to find.

I don't understand this. This game is not WoW. It can't and won't pump out content like WoW. Diablo makes no where near the amount of money WoW does. I don't have a source but Devs have talked about this before.
As for a new expansion, it would be great but it's not needed for this game to thrive right now. This game is about min maxing gear. Anyone who played diablo 2 had to deal with the same content for a very long time. Not many changes were made and balancing never was right until about 1.0.9.
As for Blizzcon, Do not trust the schedule that was released. Blizzard has always kept new releases under wraps. You think they are going to give away important announcements in a schedule panel? the schedule is not even set is stone.

^this. Man has a point. What is the purpose of Blizzcon itself then to be an event where they do make announcements?
Why have such event anyways if you can just post it on official page, right?
I doubt they'd screw up the schedule to the point where they forgot to add Diablo panels. That's pretty much the basics you start with, especially for a big release.
Also, they announced RoS at Gamescom and vanilla D3 was initially announced at Blizz's attempt at a european Blizzcon at the World Wide Invitational in 2008. So they've never announced anything at Blizzcon itsself. So, I don;t think it's unlikely they do an announcement later, at one of the Pax conventions or at Gamescom again.
About the "D3 is not WOW" thing. That's true, but if you have this many people that indicate that they'd like to see some expansion sized new content in D3, it makes every bit of sense for Blizz to provide it. Golden opportunity to get a ton of cash from box sales again. In that sense, if profitability was an issue they'd have started on a new expansion long ago, to make more money. The fact they haven't, to me, shows D3 is plenty profitable still. But I'm sure Blizz has an excellent financial department that tells them when it's a good idea to get a new expansion out, from a financial persepctive. Apparently that moment is not yet here.
Here's what I don't get: I check this site pretty regularly and I very rarely see any real complaints about the game. I mean, I'll see complaints about broken mechanics or items, but the community in general seems pretty happy with the game itself.
Now, me? I quit playing a while ago. I got tired of the endless grind for the sake of more grinding. It's not my type of game.
But it's clearly your guys' type of game. Blizzard has been updating it pretty regularly, giving you new loot, updated skills, and balance changes. Do you really need another expansion?
Be honest: If Reaper of Souls had been a patch instead of an expansion, and the game still had only 4 acts, would you really miss the 5th act all that much? You'd still have rifts, greater rifts, and all of the other RoS content, just not the 5th act. It'd be almost the exact same game.
I'm with you here. Also if I may add.... what on Earth they could announce when they are still incapable to fix the damn GR issues which actually is the end game in D3.
If they were working on a new expansion, they'd probably have an entirely new end-game system for it.
I really hope something good comes from Diablo if not that will be very sad.
