I'm sure if Blizzard would do a large banwave once a year the large majority of the community woudn't bother with botting.
You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. The number of people who bot will continue to raise with 1 or 2 banwaves per year. Blizzard have to do minimum of 2 banwaves per season in order the number of botters to start at least lowering. This means minimum of 8 waves per year. And still the smart coders won't be caught.
Ye right, the majority of people who bot are willing to buy 7 diablo licenses a year or 2 per season. ok.
@Willemh: Money is not a big problem for the most people who bot. Remember the D3 Auction House? A lot of people don't have a problem to give $250 for an ingame item. D3 + RoS costs a lot less. Plus you forget the players who never bot before and start doing it at some point. And what better point when you have endless paragon plus enormous power creep after every single D3 patch. Yeah, 2 banwaves per season won't be enough. Blizzard need to make them 3. At start, mid and end of season.
Some interesting info: Click fraud by ad bots costs $6.3 billion in 2015.
Blizzard is a joke who ruined D3 a long time ago. Adding nazi bans like this is just full retard, but hey, they are still rolling in our money so guess what? they DONT CARE AT ALL, they can just delete the game and still got billions from it.
D3 is over since the start of seasons, and those stupid banwaves arent gonna help it ressurect.
I did not gain or intended to gain any advantage, if would want to do so i would not stop after first try.
Pointless discussion. I am not cheater i am not EXPLOITING any bugs, i tried bug that everyone talked about. ONCE.
And that's why you only got a temp ban, not a permanent one. I salute you for being sensible enough to stop after your first try and thus avoiding more serious punishment.
And now you know not to do it again, right?
Manner makes great videos, he is a great contributor of content but even if I like his videos a lot I don't like his stance on cheating, he have done in the past where he got banned the last season, I don't agree with boters or cheaters, doing one is not better that doing the other...
I could feel the butthurt in this thread before I actually opened it and started reading.
This banwave is hilarious, satisfying, and if it were a buffet I'd make four more trips to it. I don't care if somebody used the Hellfire exploit once or 8000 times, they got what they deserved. I take absolutely nothing Manner says to heart because all he ever seems to do it is piss and moan and whine about anything Diablo 3 related.
Every single person who used the exploit, whether it was a quick attempt or a way to cheat upwards on the leaderboards KNEW that it was against Blizzard's ToS. Even that D-Bag Gabynator, who has admitted to AND used exploits on stream, cried about his ban. What a loser.
No, I don't compete on leaderboards, so botting doesn't directly affect the way I play the game, but I also have no respect for cheaters and have NO SYMPATHY for any single person that was banned. Not one.
I keep on reading....don't like cheating/cheats but love the guys streams/videos.......This to me is the problem! If the D3 community wants to make a real stand then it needs to boycott watching/following these guys. It's a simple concept that would go some way to act as a deterent. Either that or do nothing and face up to the fact that the cheats are prospering and that the bans are only symbolic and futile.
I've read all the replies to the OP and not one person has shown they understand what he said. Even the OP had said people deserved the bans they got. It's the severity of the bans when even blizzard gave the guidelines on how bans would be given out. I believe that's a point he's trying to get across.
I myself think they should punish people for exploiting any bug. But permabans should be for repeat offenders and those who keep at it.

You cheated, you got banned, sweet sweet salty tears.

RIP
The amount of butthurt in this thread is hilarious

Tried this bug after they fixed it. Figured i could get some movement speed, skipping 3 packs of scoprions and failing 65's solo by 30secs.
Purely my fault, not a shitty game design
So which exploit did the OP use that's got him all pissed off about the bans?
I have zero empathy for exploiters, hackers, botters and the like. They deserve to be permabanned.

In fact, more should be banned.
