Honstly people..
Noone here actually paid any attention to gfx playing LOD and DII i mean after finishing the game once twice , it becomes more of a Getting a strong character and find great loot game more then anything else..
I couldnt care less about the GFX as long as the character development is extremely Flexible and as long as there is a wide specturum of items to get my hands on..
getting loot and improving caracter might be your goals with playing the game.
Mine is too feel the adventure aspects and challenges of it and enjoy it with IRL friends online.
Great graphics enchants the mood a lot, there's no deny in that.
I'm gonna lay it out all plain and simple so everyone understands what's going on here:
All this bitching about why X feature is not there or why Y feature changed isn't good for the community. You people need to realize this.
Everyone thought D3 was abandoned. Turns out they've been making it for 4 years and I'm sure that many of you can remember how freaking happy you were when you heard the announcement either live, or from a friend.
And now all of that excitement has gone away because some of you have decided to nitpick on some small feature that DOES NOT MATTER. It is a moot point. It's not going to change. Diablo 3 is coming out. Can't you just be freaking happy and let everyone enjoy it?
There's no need to ruin other peoples fun. There's no need to ruin your own fun over this freaking useless issue. Just get over it. It's not healthy for any of us.
The environment is not a big feature? It occupies 80% of the screen's space and gives us something to identify Diablo with.
I don't understand how you think we're going out of our way to sour your excitement about the game. We're trying to provide feedback to the developers while a handful of people have spent their entire time trying to discredit us and tell us how we're stupid, or our opinion doesn't matter.
What we're asking is not too much. Blizzard is a company that should be doing THE best possible job with what they release. When we see lighting and colors that don't fit the franchise, we're going to indicate that to them and that's something they'll take into consideration. We're not just going to give up and stop talking about this, if we do... we're never going to see any change. If we manage to keep it up, I'm positive that we're going to see something done about the lighting and selection of colors.

Diablo frenchise never set the higest levels in GFX comparing to other games of the same style.. so i dont see why demanding it now?!
We did care about the art style and graphics in Diablo 2. For its time the quality was amazing and the style of the graphics are one of the best I have seen in any video game.
I am sure majority of us only signed the petitiion once. Stop thinking your puny 1 vote against will make a difference against our 30,000.
Someone should make a video in favor of our petition and put it on YouTube.

It's about the feeling and the atmosphere.
Good job misunderstanding the 30 000 people who signed that petition.
I could say the people against it are a proof of the counter-mob-effect rebel-type persons too.
now seriously diablo has so much more to it then gfx and the atmosphere in the demo video was immersive in most of the places...
there was plenty of colurs in act 2 in diablo2 as well..

I like the colors, I think it needs more shadow. Need to remove the oversized shoulderpads, reduce them a bit. Thats all.

The 30,000 people signing that petition want a variety of things, not just what the petition states.
The majority probably feel it's just to darken the environments and sign it without trying to read or understand due to the misdirection used to propagate it, but the petition itself and a minority of people want them to restart Diablo 3 from scratch, destroying all the resources and making it into a hyper-realistic bore like every shill game that's tried to imitate and copy Diablo for the past 11 years.
with how everyone has been acting latly i just feel like saying ,Fuck the mood, fuck the darkness, and fuck everything graphics related, and just give me god damn good gameplay damnit.
I don't feel like searching your posts, so i will take your word for it.
I took the time to search through your posts... Fuck off.

Long time lurker of diablofans.com and diabloii.net, so Hello!
Now as for this long standing issue.
As someone who not only played the original Diablo 1 and 2 games when they were released, but also worked on Diablo 1 (in limited capacity) and the unofficial add-on "Hellfire", I would say that I have somewhat of an intimate knowledge of the Diablo franchise.
I've watched these titles grow and maturate over a great deal of time, and while I love the way Diablo 3 looks, I do however, agree somewhat about the color and lighting.
While I feel that the outdoor environment looks fantastic (they really do) I do think a little more can be added. I didnt see much in the gameplay trailer that convinced me that tons of evil hordes and denizens from Hell were occupying portions of the world of Sancturary. Now the game is definately still in its early development stages when it comes to content, but I would like to see more that lent itself to the older ideals.
For instance, in the previous titles you knew you were coming up to something horrible, like seeing a tree ornimented with the bloody corpses of failed Rogues. I didnt see streaks through pools of blood on dungeon floors or ripped torsos lying against a dungeon wall.
These things definately added to the darker environment, and that is definately missing, at least when it comes to the gameplay trailer.
I think the outdoor environments look great, but I do think some smaller added touches can be made to indicate Hellish demons are residing in whatever area you happen to be in.
However I do agree somewhat with what we've seen so far of some of the dungeon areas. Whille they are breath taking (compared to the previous titles) I do think they could have more of an "evil" motif that the previous iterations had.
Overall though I think the game is looking fantastic. In fact I would say that I think that the 3rd one appears to be brining back more of that more "Gothic" feel that Diablo 2 lost somewhat. I am specifically talking about Act2 and 3.
But to address the original comment.
Yes people did care about the graphics, especially when it came to Diablo 2. In fact there was a huge outcry amongst gamers who were upset that Diablo 2 didnt initially break that 640x480 boundary and people felt that Diablo 2 was superior to 1 when it came to graphic quality.
Just give it some time. Blizzard is known to put quality of the experience first and they do pay attention to the fans. Im sure as the year moves forward we will see some changes in how the game looks now.
Afterall, I am will to bet that what we saw was more of a technical game play demo and less of a complete game demo.

Just like the cake, the petition is a lie.
