Just a heads up, I'll be doing the Spin to Win thing this Thursday 4/30 at 7pm EST at twitch.tv/diablo with Nevalistis (community manager), Don Vu (game designer), and Davlok (Play Your Way Monk winner).
For those who've never watched it it's just casual gameplay with random discussions (not a huge Q&A), but if you have anything in particular you'd like me to ask about Barb or the game in general - that's not trollish/dumb - let me know!
Yeah, ask them to increase my RNG, specifically, because I can't find a gift to save my life and I have some sweet ancient weapons just rotting away in my stash. Thanks.
On a more serious note, find out why there's such a discrepancy in obtaining Arcane Dust compared to Veiled Crystals. People seem to always be screaming there's not enough Arcane Dust.
Tell them please that they need to fix area damage.
Ask them about the current state of the mortic's brace bracers. (Re-implement into the game)
Also ask them on a possible Solution for more usage out off gems.
Ask them why they did decide that dustdevils no longer travel though walls on ptr and what experience bonuses now stack multiplicative on PTR (what exactly wanted they to change)
Tell them that alot of players are not satisfied with the current xp-gear in speedgrifts Situation. Everybody should have the same chance for all classes to get the same amount of xp
Can you please ask them to fix greater rift balancing, especially on higher acts. I say this because of how lacunis, moon clan impalers and winged assasins hit too hard. Also the amount of progression in acts 2-5 give little or no progress, unlike act 1 and dust eaters. This is a very important thing to talk about in my opinion, as players are affected in speed grifts and in solo play where rng matters. Thanks in advance

This a million times over. It's an easy hotfix to make RG's drops more blue mats instead of a shitload of yellow mats so why haven't they done it? I have 33k veiled crystals but only 3k arcane dust in S3 currently and when I farm t6 I only pick up blue>white items and totally ignore yellow items.
Ask them about unavoidable damage in greater rifts!!!! It is not fun to have affixes that were designed in torment 6 to be implemented into greater rifts without balance. This just causes the player to get one shotted from an affix they have no way to avoid or dodge. Jailer, vortex, frozen should not do dmg at all.. If anything frozen should freeze you and the explosion should hurt that is it. Thanks
I'd like to know whether we should start keeping Invoker set, Legacy of Nightmares (litany of the undaunted and the wailing host) just incase they make new set bonuses like Focus/Restraint or if they'll make changes be not retroactive?
For the most part, set item completion bonus changes will be retro active.
As for the Invoker set. They've basically said they don't want a passive playstyle, so unless they radically change the completion bonuses (which I doubt they will) I will probably continue to salvage them.
I would love to know what their thoughts are in regards to Group Play Vs Solo Play.
As it stands currently you are penalized in both experience and loot drops for playing the game on your own. Everything is more effective in a group and is easier. Why? Are there any plans to balance the playing field in the future?
The only reason people play solo is to increase their bloodshard cap and try and place on the solo leader boards.
They don't want to have to keep up, like a more relaxed play through.
They don't like public games and their friends aren't on.
They are playing intermittently ( people around, kids etc.) and they are away from keyboard at any moment.
Some people flat just aren't social, seen one or two around here.
I'm sure there are more. I like the increased exp/drop chance but I don't like to fly through a run. I like to kick every tire and check every loose stone usually.
Occasionally I'll drop into a friends group and do some runs for the quick exp/drops, but not often.
It is like dailies/weeklies. The difference is that you are sent across the world to do new things every day. One day you might be visiting an ancient Night elven temple off the shores of Desolace, the other you might be invading Southshore. Hence, the adventure.
I'm a fan of normal daily quests (which we don't have in WoD, sadly) as they revolve around a new story, letting you do fun things on the new continent. But I think there is room for these types of quests across the entire game, too.
Tell them please that they need to fix area damage.
Blue post by Nevalistis just went up. They'll be changing Area Damage mechanics 'in a future patch' (NOT 2.2.1 though). Right now just avoid Area Damage.
I'd like to know whether we should start keeping Invoker set, Legacy of Nightmares (litany of the undaunted and the wailing host) just incase they make new set bonuses like Focus/Restraint or if they'll make changes be not retroactive?
Set bonuses for all sets have and - according to Blizz - will be retroactive. Save well rolled Ancient Invoker/Helltooth pieces is my recommendation. The last few patches ALL set changes have been retro. The only exception is 'new rolls' on items, such as IK Boulder Breaker now rolling +Ancients damage, which doesn't roll on legacy BBs. However, legacy BBs still complete the 'new' set.
So does everyone who plays it. It's OP as fuck. That's not necessarily a bad thing, in fact I find it echoes back to pre-ROS where the best builds were barb/monk/wizard who could just keep rolling and never have to stop. It has a certain nostalgic charm.
The problem comes in a group where the Wastes set spawns so many whirlwinds that it literally clogs the entire map with them. But the barb playing it doesn't notice because they're constantly running and the whirlwinds spawn behind them off-screen. Something needs to be visually done about it. Perhaps not mechanically, but visually... it needs toned the fuck down. My hope was that by having employees of blizzard forced to deal with seeing nothing but whirlwinds it would spur some change in the set/rune visuals to clog the screen less.
I would love to see the whirlwinds buff ally movement speed. While I love my barb, I hate playing with barbs on my wiz. I'm curious what the devs thoughts are on helping less mobile classes keep up with build such as the ww barb or nats dh in a group setting.
Also, any word on being able to downgrade mats to help with the blue bottleneck?
Good job going over a lot of questions, even if a bunch of them didn't get solid answers I appreciated that you brought up a good number of things in the limited time you had.
Thanks for watching everyone, I tried to sneak a few surprises in there. I think I did ok. It was a lot of fun and we did get some useful info - mostly 'coming in a future patch', but at least it's something. Thanks again!

Hi;

Didn't they already say they were going to be looking into area damage?

Good. Let them know how obnoxious the new Wastes build is. Make them hate it, and it will get changed next patch.

People play solo for a myriad of reasons.

I second Arianaa's question. Will an iteration of Mortic's Brace be coming along?
And good luck.

No room for Sprint in this build (and unnecessary in grifts).
How so? I like it.
