Anyone know if it's possible somehow to get your gem rankings fused with non season gems after season is ended? That would be agreat feature.
All that work we do in grifts is mainly to level up those gems and find gear. All the XP we grind, the gold we farm, the items we find can be transferred to non season... but all the hard work we put into leveling up gems is totally lost. Great to spend 500 hours leveling a gem to 50+ when you have the same gem in non season.
But what if you could do it like XP. Some algorithm, as an example. Fuse 2 rank 50 gems will give you 1 gem of rank 55.
from how i undertood it the gems are also just transferred to non season. ? including their levels.
So if you have a Toxin Gem @ lv 40 in nonseason and a Toxin gem@ lv 50 in season. Then the season ends and you get 1 40 gem and 1 50 gem toxin in non season.
How do you get the idea that there is anything lost?
are the gem levels reset to lv 1 when transferring from season to nonseason?
If its like this is studid but i dont expect it to be reset... but correct me if iam wrong.
However the thing you are suggesting merging the gems is ridiculous. merging 40+50 would result in a 90 level gem.
did you clear a lv 80 rift? no you didnt..
Keep gems separated. ..its working as intended.
I would complain if they get morged, because i Want multiple gems of the same type to not be forced to swap them all the time.
Ofcourse there is something lost... since it's not possible to equip 2 of the same gem. so I have a level 50 gem in my char, and a level 50 gem in my stash that is useless. But having the option at the gem guy in town to fuse 2 gems to get 1 higher ranked gem would be nice. I'm sure you can do some calculations on what it requires to get from lvl 1 to 50 and how much it equates to in addition to another lvl 50 gem.
Same as XP. paragon 1-100 is like 100-120 or something. and they do it the exact same way with XP now, but we got no way to do it with gems.
You are the ridicilous one if you think i suggest 40 + 40 is 80, in my original post i suggested 50 + 50 would give maybe 55.
you level a second gem in season because your season character needs it.
you level a gem in non season because your non season character needs it.
you now need effectively 2 leveld gems because you have two chars.
but it seems like you prefer having the gems merged and swapping that gem everytime from character A to character B , if you want to play the other character ?
I tend to see two gems as two items .. not a value which can be merged as paragon XP.
IF you have a furnace non season and in season you also dont want to get those both merged with a slight damage upgrade, do you ?
I'm not trolling. And you can't compare it with a regular item.
A legendary gem is 100% guarantee drop if you don't have it. So it's not like some RNG thing like furnace.
It's also something you level up by grinding it out, just like you level XP up.
So yes, I need to level up a gem for my seasonal char, and my non seasonal char. But when the season is over, it gets transferred over to non season.. Hence it loses its purpose, as I cannot use it on a new season.
In season 10 I will have 10 bane of the trapped level 50, yaaa, Imagine how much time I spent, and wasted, leveling all those gems.
It would be the same as if you didn't get your XP/gold transfered, and they thought it was a good idea to do that.
I don't mind so much leveling up paragon's and finding new items in season. It's what it's all about - starting fresh. But some of the incentives of even playing season was that the time spent grinding it out, wouldn't be a total wash when season was over. Hence they made it possible to transfer xp/items/gold when season is over. It just seems to me as if legendary gems are in that same category, as it is something we grind to level up and not just random items.
If you farm organs/keys for hellfire, those are also useful when transferred, the ONLY thing that is useless after season is over, that we spend a lot of time on, is the gems.
However if you play seasonal is there really a time where you play non-seasonal again? Personally I play my seasonal characters and haven't touched my non-seasonal at all. There are pros and cons to merging the gems together however I just don't see it really being a big issue to a lot of players. In my personal opinion anyway.
Yeah it might not be a big issue. But if you don't care about your non season character you won't care if you get the XP / items / gold transferred either?
I mean what I suggest is just consistency. For those that DO think, what blizzard intended, is a good feature, it feels like they left the gems out of the equation.
And actually I probably will play non season again. There will be a break between seasons and it's on your non season chars that you have the absolute best gear and are able to play the highest GR, where you might not have been so lucky getting the items you needed in seasonal play.
So if you really want to test the highest GR, non seasons is where it's at imo.
But yeah, we are probably doing most of the farming/grinding in seasons. Hence why we don't have time to also keep leveling our gems in non season... and that is just another reason why we should have an option to get something out of all the time/effort we put into leveling them up in season.

Might be nice if you could use "surplus" Gems (ones you're never going to use) for crafting material.
And actually I probably will play non season again. There will be a break between seasons and it's on your non season chars that you have the absolute best gear and are able to play the highest GR, where you might not have been so lucky getting the items you needed in seasonal play.
