So i am looking for a new class to use on S2. And im looking for a class where i can play like 2 or 3 different specs and still be able to get into some high rifts.
I know there will always be one Top Spec per Class, but for example i play WD (only) on non seasonal, i know that Jade Harvest is the best spec, still when i play Carnevil or even pet with smk i can get into some high rifts aswell, although Jade harvest is just the best.
In Wd there is a bit of diversity that i enjoy, cause playing the same spec all the time.. well it gets boring.
So in S2 i created an DH and so far.. it was a disapointment. Every build needs Marauder set and plays around Sentry , the only thing that changes is the element and some skill.. Im not enjoying it atm.
So btw Barb /monk / Wizzard what offers more build diversity?
I only play crusaders FYI, but I hear its one of the most diverse classes. Almost every Crusader build will need 6 piece Akkhan set bonus and 50-56% CDR, so there isn't much diversity there in the gear you can wear. The set modifies a cooldown and not a direct damage dealing ability, and relies mainly on a weapon or weapon/shield combo to define a build, which is actually pretty cool. So this type of set yields plenty of builds such as Heavens Fury Shotgun Build (made possible with Fate of the Fell Flail), Fist of Heavens builds (made interesting with Darklight Flail), The Phalanx Builds pet/stempede (made possible with the Unrelenting Phalanx Shield), and the Condemn Build (Made possible with Blade of Prophecy Sword + Fredyrs Wrath Shield). All those builds will get you into GR30s and the last two listed will get you further.
Thanks alot for the unput.. i was already tending to Monk (cause i can use some of my DH gear) also the fact that it seems to be the class that got the best season item.
I'm going to flat out state the DH isn't what you're looking for. If you doing anything but M6, it's probably weaker.
The only variation is pretty much Weapon and your choice of Resource Management. Passives are pretty much Awareness, Cull of the Weak, Steady Aim, Archery, Custom Engineering, Blood Vengeance, and Ballistics. Of those, for Higher Grifts, you need Awarenes, Custom Engineering and Ballistics. Cull of the Weak is too good not to use in combination the Bane of the Trapped Gem. So, the others are whatever your Hellfire Amulet allows you to use. With the overlapping bonuses with Passives and Gems, if there is a class that needs a 5th passive, it's DH. And crafting requires lots of luck or way too much time to gather the Keys and Forgotten Souls.
Legendary Gems provide the most diversity. Bane of the Trapped is pretty much required, as noted above. Zei's is best in combination with Steady Aim. And Enforcer is good with Sentries. Other than that, you can use Bane of the Powerful for most part, but when it takes more than 20 seconds to kill of an Elite, the gem's only real value is Elite Damage.
With weapons, the only thing that will drastically change your build is an ultra-rare Kridershot. It helps with resource management. The new Season weapon is good, but, you're still only doing primary damage. M6 does most of it's damage with either Cluster Arrow or Multi-Shot. Elemental Arrow with Lightning is an option, but, this is a very specific build with well rolled items. So good luck getting all the right gear to drop or allow required enchanting.
That being said, I think Crusader is the best for Multiple Builds. There are a number of Game defining Item Drops that will allow you vary your build. Ahkahn's Set is probably the best set, but there are a lot of items outside the set that can be swapped outside of the set. These are in Shield and Weapons. There is a Flail and a couple of Shields that affect Heaven Fury. Each is very powerful on it's own. There is also a Sword that triples the effects of Falling Sword. So, as you obtain items, you can vary your build. Considering Shields, there are a number of them that do different things, like allow you to use Hammer as well as do somethings when a Block occurs. The big thing is that the items you find will be usable to do different things. Most of these things are offensive, so your builds feel much different from the others. For most other Classes, they are very Set dependent for this kind of change in play styles. For Crusader, if you swap a shield, you can change your build from channeling Heaven's Fury or to an in your face Shield Bashing style.
Personally, I still like all the trouble I can get into playing DH, but, for now, this requires dropping sentries and managing resources. This is what you do regardless of any items you have in your slots.
I would vote for WD. It looks like it's close to Crusader which also has lots of different builds, but in the end I feel most Crusader builds "feel" similar - but the different WD builds are just so entirely changing your playstyle and "feel" of the class. Basically, for solo high-end GRs there's Jade and in groups there is the Tiklandian perma-Horrify build. But then, you can also play a hybrid Tiklandian/pet DPS or even pure pet DPS build in groups (the latter if there's a 2nd WD). For solo, there are people that cleared GR40+ with pure pet builds, the Tiklandian/pet hybrid, Carnevil (imho the most fun spec currently in the game overall). And for T6 you basically have a million specs, just pick a spell you like and go for it - simply because in T6 WD isn't the fastest class at all, so there's not one spec dominating as it's the case for other classes. You can experiment a lot.
Make sure to cross out Wizard. There's only Firebird's, a couple of viable fire spells and endless kiting. I hate dealing no direct damage, so I run with endless meteor spam, which is lacking.

Totally forgot about Crusader there

Will give it a try! thanks

DH must use marauders and wiz must use firebird's. AFAIK, barbs must use raekor's.
idk about crusaders, and monks have at least 3 builds (innas, solo CDR, and zdps pure CDR)
witch doctors are bad
Funny thing is what hurts build diversity the most is difficult contents. There are plenty of builds in lower difficulties.
