Now that I farmed my 10 posts so that I can post a link.....
Hi,
The old guy (47) needs some help and advice. I haven’t played video games since I played D2 the whole summer of 2000 during my divorce.
Roll forward 12 years and D3. Anyway, I should be spending more time on other things I need to do like work around the house etc…. oops. It is also interfering with my other favorite hobby – growing superhot peppers!
I have about 130 hours into my DH.
I’ve made it to Act 3 Inferno the Larder without much study, look up or references…but alas I find myself being stomped quite a bit now. I think Belial crushed me 25 times before I made it passed him. (I finally found a YouTube video where the a guy showed his tells). But I keep dying with the larder not to mention times when I’m careless in the keep.
Please look at my profile and help me with a course of action, what steps would help me the most.
If you're not the shy type, I'd suggest joining a public game for Ghom. If you get the right group (like I did) you'll down him the first time. Hope that helps.
Ahelmet with a socket would definetly help you out gemming for xtra life. More res all would definitely be needed. Since you don't have much crit chance, you should probably reconsider using impale/grievous wounds. You would probably do better with elemental arrow.
Definite advice for yourself is a new helmet with a socket and higher stats (u can grab even semi-decent ones for around 300k)
And you really should look at selling your current weapon to a Wizard/WD and buy yourself a proper DH bow. If you can get 1 with about the same DPS/vit/socket with some base crit damage if you're lucky.
Doing quick Act 1 runs with high MF is always nice but with this new paragon levels I recommend using a 25% xp gem in your helm.
I just fool myself into thinking I’m keeping my mind sharp!
I took the advice from many and did some small upgrades from the suggestions here. Upgraded socketed helm, gloves and amulet to start with. Will look into other upgrades as I obtain funds.
Current build hopefully I’m making the right adjustments:
I was able to get by Ghom on the second try after the above equipment upgrade, taking my Templar with me (I usually only have the Enchantress) and changing the following as suggested. Hungering Arrow-Devour, Impale-Chem, Shadow Power-Gloom.
In order to continue with Act 3 I think I will need to farm Act 1 or 2 for a bit with whatever MF gear that I can safely wear. I'll just need to decide where to farm.
With my current equipment and skills, Evasive Fire – Covering Fire, EA- Ball Lightning, Spike Trap – Scatter, Shadow Power – Gloom, Prep-Battle Scars, Vault ToC. I was able to get to the Seigebreaker…but I took heavy losses in getting there. I shouldn’t say heavy losses, but I didn’t make what I should have due to the losses. I bet I died 10-15 times. I didn’t want to lose the NV stack so I didn’t change up the skills. But I think I’ll have to try what I used for Ghom against SB.
However….I did get my second ever Legendary Drop in the Caverns of Frost with the 5 Nephalem stack!!! It was Devil Tongue with 880 dps.
What skills do you find most effective for Farming Act 3?
Any other suggestions are welcome and I will check out the posts here on farming.
Thanks!

I was farming Act 1 Crypts, Festering Woods, The Warden and the Butcher….not really finding much to sell other than to a Merchant.
Thanks for your help!
