I used to play a glass canon demon hunter and I always die either to 1 shot or 2 shot to white mobs. It is near impossible to SS on time because of the high latency I am having.
SO, I have decided to respec my demon hunter into a tanky one.
I have done a website (pretty visual one) on the build of a tanky demon hunter.
It will contain
-Videos ( A couple video of me slaying bosses)
-Item List (List of all the items I am using)
-Stats (Full Stats)
-Skill build
didnt watch any of the videos but i do like when you mouse over everything it pops up. only problem i do see is when i mouse over your spec it pops up on the right of the mouse and 1/2 off my screen so i cant see it all. is there anyway to make it pop up to the left of the mouse instead?
sold most of my DH's gear and was starting over. cleared inferno on my monk after i was tired of dying so much on my DH. dont want to farm gear anymore for my monk since i have cleared infenro and want to clear it on my DH. so far i have spent approx 780k and i have 604 physical resist and 360+ in everything else. really like the amount of loh you have and want to get some more myself, only have 242 atm tho my xbow has a crit gem in it instead of a loh one.
*Edit* almost 84k hp ?!!! holy balls that is alot, im a bit shy of 35k atm wonder how well my gear will work as a tank dh lol.
My DH is as well a tanking Dh the stats are rougly
550 AR//(750 or so physical resist
55k hp
8/9k dps (depending on act im playing for more/less LoH)
1.8k/1.2k LoH (again ^)
I find that my dps can use a gain though i may have sacrificed too much on defensive stats but I just don't know what to get rid of that wont cost me that much.
usually watch a stream for a EU metal monk, one day he took his monks gear and put it on his DH and went and cleared act 3, using an axe and a shield. which got me thinking for a tank build why not use a nice shield and a helm of command for another 8% block. could easy get 25% block which could only help with taking less dmg and staying alive longer.
The problem I see is mobile ranged mobs. You have to be in melee to use two of your best loh generators. Can u show us tanking 3 act 3 spear throwers or detail how you deal with them.
using impale as your hatred spender instead of elemental arrow, since you couldnt use elemental arrow because of no ranged weapon. with impale it is a ranged attack and would give you something to deal with the ranged mobs who do run away from ya. really isnt much options for a hatred spender if you are not using a ranged weapon. think impale and chakram are only 2 that would work

I believe for the build to work in act 3 and up
These are the minimal stats
500 AR
60k HP
15k DPS
1500 LoH
You need to have enough dept on your HP to soak up all the big hits. If you can survive the big hits, you can face tank them anyday.

Generally it's doable without crazy affix
