Has anyone ever noticed that whenever a band releases an album and a song in that album is the same name as the album or the same name as the artist, it ALWAYS SUCKS. Why would they do that? The song is like... I don't know, representing the artist/album or something. It more less makes it look like the main song. BUT IT ALWAYS SUCKS!

Not always true, but seems like it. I'll pull out a full examples of exceptions.
'Set Yourself on Fire' by Stars
'Ghost Opera' by Kamelot
'In the Aeroplane, Over the Sea' by Neutral Milk Hotel
'The Edge of Infinity' by Lunatica
'Grow Up and Blow Away' by Metric

I also disagree. I don't particularly like Ghost Opera from Kamelot, but Karma is an excellent song from an album with the same name.

I've had the same experience with most bands. It always makes me curious whether the band felt that song was their best, or best represented the album. The only exception I can think of to this rule is Dave Matthew's and his Some Devil album.
P.S. I'm not a fan of Kamelot. I tried really really really hard to get into them. I put their cd in my car for several weeks.. It just.. wouldn't... click..

Major props for trying that hard though, much more than anyone I know :)

You made me do this....
Black Sabbath's self-titled song. A song that would have scared the shit out of me if I was around back when it debuted; and it's the song that pretty much breathed life into metal.
Close thread.

Uhh lol close thread? This is a totally fine and rule-abiding thread.
Sure, what I said isn't always true... but you have to admit it normally is... I mean, then again I'm really picky. I only listen to songs that sound unique really.

I agree, but sometimes some bands whos songs are the same as the album or band sound pretty rad. But thats only like 20% of the time.

Californication by the Red Hot Chili Peppers is an awesome album. So is Blood Sugar Sex Magic.
Toxicity is one of, if not the best album by System of a Down.
Mutter is an awesome album by Rammstein, so is Herzleid, Sehnsucht, Reise Reise and Rosenrot. Actually, all of their albums have the name of the album the same as one ofthe songs found therein.
