Breaking the Addiction

This is for the Addict in you.

Well We have all been through it, the Diablo 2 Addiction! How many of us have tried to quit? Some people just "try to stop playing", others "try to uninstall it", and some go to the extreme of throwing the diablo 2 disc's away or breaking them in half even! How often did you find yourselves playing and saying to yourself, damn I could be doing something way better than diablo to, such as something social or something better to do with my time? I found myself to become on of those people. I have been playing for 3 Hard years and on and off for 2, so a total of 5 years. I would always tell myself, fucking I should be going out on this friday night and parting hard, but there I was addicted to the game of a life time. Well the game of a life time for me in this case. I dont know what it is but I could never walk away, and I wish I always would have. Yes, Diablo 2 gave me some great times, but it probably took away from many others that I could have had doing something " better ". I just ask myself, EVEN thought I love/d D2 to death, would I be willing to go through that heart break with D3 for another 5 Years? Its easy to start, but to stop.. is another thing. So I leave you addicts and also myself with a question? Why start if you know you cant stop ?

i was playing diablo2 3 years and the last summer i was pklaying 23 hours the day!i was needing one to sleep :)

but one day when i finally got them all (92lvl PALA) WITH ENIGMA ANNIHILUS BOTD AND MORE CHARACTERS I FORGOT MY FUCKIN PASSWORD!!!!!

I BECAME MISSERABLE FOR 2 WEEKS UNTIL I SATRTED WC3...(PLAYIN DOTA)

LoL I was just like what am I doing here this is like my 4th or 5th good account. I know everything, pretty much done everything and the game was kind of dieing out so I stopped and like 4 months later I started CS with my friends then like a year later BF2. Now I don't exactly play anything except for the ocasional console games at a friends house when we're bored. OOH but when D3 comes out!

I just quit d2, it was hard, nearly impossible, but it can be done.

i find myself every 3 months going back to d2 lod and playing about 3-4 hard core chars play em 4 2 moths then be done just to start up again 3 months later

Now that i think of it diablo stop me from growing b/c ain't u suppose to grown in your sleeps if that true than i never grew b/c i was to busy staying up playing diablo but i never once blame diablo for my troubles b/c it all blizzard fault damn them

I've been addicted to Diablo II for too long. I haven't gone longer than 3 months without playing it since the week it came out. I usually play it heavily in the winter time, when it's nasty outside and we get snow days for school. In the summer, I tend to cool down, but I don't entirely abandon the game. However, I've lost lots of characters:

the game got boring for me to and i quit for a like 4 months than i started to play again but my mom didn't pay the internet bill so i had to quit for 2 month but now it back on and i'm playing it again every day

i guess that would be consequential. im not addicted, i just play once a week if i feel like it. but i just started a new char, so there goes my spare time ^^

yea whenever i make a new char i get them to lvl 60 then just stop they get boring

i noticed when i pushed myself to max out my druid, but now i have a necro, and i have already planned out all the skill points, so i HAVE to get him high up there too.
