Please Help Me!!!!!

OH MY GOD! I GOT A VIRUS AND NORTAN ANTIVIRUS COULDNT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT! I TRIED DELETING THE FILE, BUT MY COMPUTER SAID ACCESS DENIED! a.k,a this picture right here http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/4957/untitledtz8.jpg (http://aarinfantasy.com/forum/redirector.php?url=http://imageshack.us)
and this virus is starting to infect all my other files T.T!!
and did mention its in my SYSTEM32 folder? i tried some file deleting softwares, but it said the same thing' Acess Denied' ( or something)

i had a similar problem once; i did a custom virus scan with Norton and it picked up the virus so i was able to delete it. here's what to do (you can also go to Norton and it will tell you the steps):

1. turn off system restore, the virus will just use that to copy itself.

2. do a custom virus scan, idk if it will pick up the virus, it did for me.

3. delete ANY registries the virus added to your computer registry (but make sure you back up the registries first)

4. restart your computer

lucky for me the virus wasnt able to add any registries to my computer so all i had to do was delete the virus. once you have done all that, it should be safe to turn system restore back on.

I know what to do I had this before! Start your computer in safe mode then delete it manually! find out allt he locations of it. For example C:\Program Files\Ares\My Shared Folder\porn i shouldn't of downloaded now my computer is fucked. :)

Well i dont kno how to fix the problem, but for next time get Trend Micro Antivirus, you have to pay but its worth it, Download hours of porn, visit any site, and youll still be clean.

to a previous date that u know u didnt have the virus

if your cruisy like me then you can do what i do when i cant be screewed re-formatting and my comp is filled with viruses.....

Uninstall your virus scan! It works! Your computer will no longer bring up all these virus alerts and infected files!

It is like running naked through the woods...No restrictions and no worries!

if i get a serious virus i back up my most needed files (e.g. d2 chars) and reformat the drive....it works

I'd get rid of Norton. It does nothing and when it found something (surprisingly) it doesn't delete it. I know I had it. Recently I installed the free version of Avira Antivir. It already found 3 trojans Norton couldn't found. So I would turn Norton completelty off (don't try to remove it because it will leave all kind of stuff in your registry and cant be removed) download antivir and keep that as a Antivirus program. Get spysweeper for Spyware and turn Windowsfirewall on. You probably have a hardware firewall in your router wich will keep the real threats away and makes your computer invisible. (If you dont have a hardware firewall DONT do this!) It works fine for me. Plus a Firewall build into antivirus and all the anti stuff slows you down. You just need the Antivirus. It improved my gaming speed somewhat. About your virus. Do what I said and then scan your whole computer with the above named programs. Ofcourse its only an advice so do what you want.

about a month after formatting my drive last time, my computer was once again full of viruses... using microsoft anti-spyware also helps though^^

Yeah I love Norton, "I think you have a virus, but I can't really do anything about it even if you do, so just letting you know in case you care... but you can still check out my fancy GUI.". I recommend Kaspersky or NOD32, but there surely are other decent ones. (No, not Panda / McAfee / other commercial garbage).

but..... nortan found another virus that is in a folder that doesnt hve any files in it.....so i was like wtf?!

either fake or its hidden, go to tools -> folder options -> view (tab along the top) -> and click on "show hidden files and folders" (scroll thru the list till u find it)

i checked the folders proteries and it contained no files and was 0 byte
so nothing to worry about i guess

Dont uninstall norton and put mcafee on, it will conlfict and neither will work properly, trust me i had it
