Most Mainstream rap these days is horrible, but do any of you like that underground rap? Imortal technique, Murs, Dub Pistols, Jedi Mind Tricks, etc.
Anyone?

Uhh.. I don't really remember my post, but I can't imagine how it could have been trolling/flaming. Or was it just because I responded to someone doing so?
Anyway, not sure if I should restate my opinion about the topic again or just not bother.
I think what I said was that genre isn't important, the only thing that matters is if the track is any good or not and to a lesser extent the artist.
Genre = 100% what it sounds like (I don't tag things as 'emo' or stuff like that)
Artist = 50% if it's good or not, 50% what it sounds like
Track = 100% if it's good or not
That's how I judge. So I guess I could list my favorite underground rap artists, but to be honest it would be a small list. Don't know many of them, as listening to a wide variety of music means less time to get really deep into certain genres.

Going to an Atmosphere/Brother Ali concert in a few weeks ;) Theres a whole bunch I listen to from EL-P to Sage Francis, Rhymesayers to Def Jux, you name it. Point is, you probably haven't heard of them, and thats not because they suck. Some want to stay underground, and others won't get pushed by big labels because of the content of their work. Not bad content, just controversial stuff, but anyone taking a few minutes to listen to it before writing it off is doing themselves a favor.
