try Lamb of God (they fucking have the greatest drummer in the world) or Devildriver (altough i would not believe you didn't listen to them ^_^) and ofcource the great Two Ton Predator.
Altough lately the best music that fit me was plain old Pantera!

<-------- I love my metal too. :P
Only thing I can really recommend are the bands I listen to. My first band that got me into metal was 'Pantera', but that's probably not heavy enough if you're looking for something like 'In Flames'. There's of course 'Slayer' which is just sick. 'Crowbar' is a good sludge metal band. If you get ahold of an album, my favorite is "Broken Glass". Very very sludge like and feeling. Slow and heavy as fuck with distortion out the ass. 'Acid Bath' is another good one. Might not be as heavy as you'd like, but they're deffinitly a good metal band with a different approach. 'Droid' is a newer band that you might very well like. My favorite song is "Fueled by Hate"; it's pretty much just a 4 minute beat down by a group of pissed off metal heads who are... well, fueled by hate. The 'Dethklok' album is actually a very good metal album. It's one of my favorites of all time. 'Hellyeah' is also a good debuting band that put out a good (although fairly generic) metal album that to me sounds like what the next 'Pantera' album would have sounded like if it ever came about; only less awesome Dime riffs.
Again, none of these bands (except maybe Droid) are as heavy as a 'Behemoth', but they're all great.

If you mean real grindcore, try sore throat, rotten sound, extreme noise terror, brain drill, origin.
As for black metal, im into Emperor, Dark Funeral, Dissection, Satyricon, Naglfar, Marduk to name a few.
If you like In Flames, you'll probably like At The Gates and Dark Tranquility.
As for bands like behemoth, idk many, but i would suggest listening to Nile. As for othe "blackened death metal" bands, try Vader, Belphegor, Azarath, stuff like that.
Try out http://www.pandora.com/ , you will probably find a lot of bands you like.

First off... I just wanna note how horrible it is to associate Hardcore and Grindcore music with Black Metal. I dont even consider most black metal to actually be metal just because of how untalented 99% of it is... its all a stupid subculture with a bunch of losers who like to wear too much makeup. The only black metal band I would suggest to you is God Dethroned.
But here is what else I have for you
- Hardcore -
Agnostic Front
Hatebreed
Madball
Suicidal Tendencies
- Grindcore -
Extreme Noise Terror
Carcass
Lengt'che
Napalm Death
- THRASH -
Exodus
Testament
Death Angel
Annihilator
SLAYER
- Others -
Psyopus
The Red Chord
Ion Dissonance
Kataklysm
Anyways... hope I helped

Lolz at successfully not naming a single "Hardcore/Grindcore/Blackmetal" band lol
(Dimmu doesnt even count, most REAL black metalers deny thier existance)

Maximum the Hormone -
They are a Japanese band, and are a mix of DeathMetal, SpeedMetal, Funk, a little rap, and a touch of harmony thrown in there. Plus 90% of the lyrics are Japanese, and they go by so fast, that even if you speak Japanese, you will have a hard time decyphering them. They're style is really refreshing compared to the mainstream metal. This might be just the band you are looking for. Warning, they also have a little bit of a pop style for a few songs. ;)
Songs to check out:
Burikikaesu
Hayani Spain
Rokkinpo Gorochi
Louisiana Bob
Policeman Benz
Zetsukan Billy
Chu Chu Lovely (for good measure :P)
Actually I'd have to just put down every single song. They are tied with Nirvana for my favorite band of all time.
Other heavy music I listen to:
Mindless Self Indulgence
Nonpoint
Blood of the Phoenix - If you are in the mood for mostly heavy metal w/o very many lyrics
HED p.e. - For Alternative Metal/Rapcore, good stuff,
The Sword
In Flames
Slipknot
Static X
Mudvayne
Off Topic: I'm trying to find the name of a band of this song I got from my friend. The song name is Slaves of Addiction. Anybody have a clue who the band is? I really like the style, weird as shit, but really cool. Thanks.

These are the bands I enjoy listening to, can't think of more atm.

Wow, Amon Amarth aren't Black Metal, and you can't put Satyricon there either.
To answer to this topic, here are some bands that you should like, if you're looking for Metal.
Thrash: Metallica, Megadeth, Testament, Kreator, Some Celtic Frost, Bathory
Black: Carpathian Forest, Primordial, Leviathan, Xasthur, Morgul
Death(and all its subs): Opeth, Death, Psycroptic, Hate Eternal
Prog/Power: Blind Guardian, Symphony X, Wintersun, Arcturus
Those should suffice for now.

Chris Adler (Drummer from Lamb of god) is a king, he doesn’t play insanely fast, he plays insanely complex. I have been into metal since I was a little tyke and as a heavy metal drummer in a band myself its all about the groove. Sure, I appreciate death metal drummers that can trigger a snare and play blast beats and gravity blasts at 5000bpm, but its drummers like Chris Adler that really impress me, off-timing, hard to follow, weird polyrhythms… drooooool...

ahahahaha...have you ever even listened to them, at least i didnt suggest coheed and cambria as a good death metal band (they're terrible), and how can you say through the eyes of the dead are gay...they are fucking amazing, and the red chord...what the hell is wrong with you,...do you have something bad to say about necrophagist, or between the buried and me...or a life once lost (i know them IN PERSON), or 3 inches of blood, job for a cowboy?? (their new cd isnt so good ill admit, but DOOM was fantastic).....

"At the Gates" is a must. Their older stuff is more melodic and has a sort of black metal feel to it (though it's technically death metal, i guess). If you like In Flames i think you'll like At the Gates.
Someone mentioned Lamb of God, and i agree, they are another must-listen. You might like Shadows Fall, also. They are basically melodic metal, not sure if they fit into "death metal" or not because frankly i haven't heard much of their stuff.

For a great black metal band, listen to Arckanum.
If other metal bands are okay, then you have to listen to Opeth, At the Gates and Finntroll (my personal favourites)

Indorphine: Glowsticks for clubbing baby seals
It is a great album. It's even better to see them live. Although I think they replaced the drummer and 2 guitarists since I last saw them. In that case they may blow nuts but that cd is one that still gets play time in my cd tray.

Okay, well Im the kinda guy who likes bands who aren't even on the stream yet...and compared to all these other bands that people mentioned, i would strongly suggest go my way with this:
Suicide Silence,
The Ghost Inside,
Recon,
Born of Osiris,
The faceless,
The Acacia Strain,
and if ur into myspace, going to these bands, and looking at the people who are on their "top friends" is a good way to adventure into other music as well.
