It has been meticulously written to address the most common issues members ask about. If you have any further questions, please post a thread in the Site Suggestions and Questions forum.
Administrators, managers, and the moderation team try to patrol as much of the boards as possible, but can't read it all. If you find a post that is inappropriate, report it and they will look into it as quickly as possible. It's simple and keeps you out of flame wars and out of trouble.
Do not, under any circumstances, publicly discuss moderation about threads, members, social groups, visitor messages, albums, and/or blogs in any public venue.

Each violation will add one or more infraction points to your account's history. Infraction points last three months*, after which they expire**. If you reach certain levels, an automatic ban will take place. You can view your current infraction level in your profile.

3 Points: Two Day Ban
4 Points:Five Day Ban
5 Points: 1 Month Ban
6 Points:2 Month Ban
7+ Points:Permanent Ban

** When an infraction expires, it is no longer counted in your active infraction total. It will, however, always remain in your history.
All rules marked with the Φ symbol apply to blog posts as well as board posts. The reputation section applies only to reputation comments.
Signature Guidelines
1 point - Signature Size Limit. Signatures should not be wider than 600 pixels or taller than 250 pixels.
1 point - Signature Animation. Animated signatures that significantly disrupt the load time of any page they appear on may be removed. Flash signatures are not allowed.
Signatures may not break any of the rules that apply to the rest of the site (infraction level depends on rule broken).
Flaming
1 point - Personal Attacks. Directly attacking a/other member(s) based on their game experience, game-play style, intelligence (including "noob", "nub", and various other spellings), age, sex, post count, sitejoin date, and/or any other factor. This may include explicit cursing and profanity directed at said member(s).Φ
2 points - Ethnic Slurs. Using racial, religious, or sexual slurs.Φ
2 points - Discrimination. Insulting users based on their race, religion, or sexuality, or encouraging insulting members based on their race, religion, or sexuality.Φ
Trolling
1 point - Whining. Don't create threads just to QQ.
1 point - Basic Trolling. Posting to incite arguments.
Adult Content
2 points - Pornographic Links.Posting a link to a site containing pornographic material.Φ
7 points - Hidden Pornographic Content/Links. Disguising a link to trick users into visiting a site containing pornographic material.Φ
7 points - Pornographic Visual Media.Embedding pornographic material in a post (images or videos).Φ
Software Piracy and Illegal Activities*
2 points - Illegal Activities. Posting links to or encouraging illegal activities, such as copyright infringement through illegal torrents, usenet, warez, etc .Φ
2 points - Software-Specific Illegal Activities. Selling/trading CD keys/serials/warez.Φ
*Since the board is hosted on U.S.A. hardware, "illegal" and "piracy" are determined in the context of the laws of the United States and/or international copyright laws.
Other
Warning/1 point - Thread Necromancy. Bumping a thread that is more than 3 months old.
Warning/1 point - Off Topic. Posting a comment that is irrelevant to the subject of the thread.
1 point - Discussing Moderation. Do not discuss moderation or rule violations in public. Report the forum post/blog post or contact an administrator, moderator, or manager in private (via PM, email, or an instant messaging service).Φ
1 point - Advertising. While I don't doubt your fansite could be the next greatest thing, these kind of posts are explicitly forbidden to keep the forums from having big advertising threads everywhere.
1 point - Spamming. Making a post for the sake of making a post.
7 points - Harmful Links. Posting links to sites containing a virus and/or keylogger.Φ
7 points - Impersonation. Impersonating another member.Φ
7 points - Ban Evasion. Using another user account to circumvent a ban or moderator action.Φ
7 points - Hidden Pornographic Content/Links. Disguising a link to trick users into visiting a site containing pornographic material.Φ
7 points - Pornographic Visual Media.Embedding pornographic material in a post (images or videos).Φ
7 points - Multiaccounting. We do not allow any member to have more than one account. If you should have multiple accounts by accident, forgot an old account, or want a name change, please talk to an administrator or the moderation manager.Φ

These are the behavior guidelines we intend to hold our staff members to. If they violate these, please contact the staff member's manager or an administrator. If you are interested in being a Staff member, please understand that you will be held to stricter standards than the rest of the community.
Staff members are official representatives of DiabloFans and DiabloWiki and should act accordingly. For this reason, staff members must never be found threatening the integrity of the staff team by breaking any of our regular rules (see [thread link="rules"]above[/thread link]).
Since staff members are representatives of the site they are entitled the respect that comes with that responsibility. If any user shows flagrant disregard or disrespect for a moderator performing their duties please let an administrator know.
Staff members should never carry out personal agendas with their privileges. If you feel there is a conflict of interest, please report the post or contact a manager or administrator.
Reported Posts should be responded to as promptly as possible. Staff members should try to follow reported problems back to where they started and take the appropriate actions.
