Hey guys, I just returned back to the game. I stopped playing 1 - 1,5months after release because I thought inferno was just too hard, I was simply not having fun.
Now I returned back, bought a few cheap and good items and seems to blaze through act 1 and 2.
But I got some huge gaps to fill when it comes to game knowledge.
First off this is my main character: http://eu.battle.net...2111/hero/58412
Gearing it should be pretty easy with other guides.
But I wonder what should I actually pic up?
How can I know which item is good? and which item is bad?
Does yellows sell on AH?
What route should I take to earn some gold to get better gear?
Where can I choose MP? (I see people saying stuff like MP10 etc)
Any other specific changes that I should know about?
Since you've left, there has been a big overhaul to many Legendary items. Not only they're a lot more competitive with rares now, but in most cases, their base stats make them the absolute best way to gear up while in a budget.
This Nmitty video has some nice tips on what Legendaries you could consider getting:
There are other decent Legendaries that are not mentioned there (like Shenlong fists) which can roll decently. You can check the Official Guide for those.
Yellows only sell on the AH if their stats are on par with the baseline stats of the aforementioned Legendaries (which means insanely low chances).
> Chests, One-handed Weapons, Rings, Amulets, Pants and Belts (with high EHP rolls) are all worth picking up imho.
> Class specific rares are heavily shadowed by their Legendary counterparts (Sources, Mojos, Cloaks, Mighty Belts)
> which makes them only good to make some gold through vendoring
In the current version of the game, Act 3 is a lot more densely populated than the other Acts. It is common knowledge that farming Act 3 has a much better efficiency. You should probably farm it on a Monster Power that you're comfortable.
> Farming on a MP that you can one-shot mobs (usually MP 2-3) is better for Legendary farming (also said to be more efficient in general).
> This should change with patch 1.0.8 (with heavy changes to monster density).
IIRC you have to activate the Monster Power feature on the Options menu (similar to how you activate Elective Mode).
Other things:
The way item-lvl and affixes are calculated has changed as well (ilvl related to monster-lvl).
Higher Monster Powers wield much higher exp-bonuses (they might even be better for Paragon farming).
Resplandecent Chests are now affected by NV stacks and MF (not sure) - they're a free elite.
Public games have quite a few people playing them - give it a try, it's quite fun. Plus you can choose a MP for them now.
You can get a Hellfire Ring now. It's a quest that has you chasing Key Wardens and killing Ubers for a chance at a very good ring that has high-base mainstat and +35% exp bonus.
Public Games (and the Chat channel Looking for Group) is a great way to get people to do Ubers.
Ajey, you pick a good time to come back, with the impending 1.08 patch and a promised itemization overhaul to follow, right now is the time to get back in this thing.
If you play (US) than I'd be willing to help you with anything in-game. Just add me @ my siggy....good luck and have fun!
Feel free to add me on EU as well (Nomad#1741 iirc), if you want a suboptimal crazy Witch Doctor that throws Circus Zombies at their enemies as a farming partner (although I haven't been online/playing much lately, been trying out GW2)

MP settings are in the 'Change Quest' menu. Bottom left side of your UI, same screen where you select your mission.

Indeed - I could be wrong about this, guys.
We need a MF specialist here although it's probably a very hard thing to test and prove.
This is the best set-up for a penis joke these forums have ever seen!
