Continually, i post here to only hear that im not being constructive enough. Well, im sorry but after reading the "answers" to ask the devs part 2 I am only left shaking my head....
Why did it take them 2 or more weeks to beat around the bush and say that to "fix" a "bug" would break the game even more.... Is it me or does "fix" and "bug" reflect the fact that they are now admitting they made mistakes, but dont know how to fix them....
I don't think they are going to release any major content until the release of the expansion. Maybe small things, yes. But iI wouldn't hope for any major changes.
If they release a bunch of content they have planned for the expansion, it in my opinion will take away from the upgrade the expansion would give. I would rather have more content than i know what to do with all at once, rather than having a tiny bit that i totally destroy in a week, four times a year. I have no problem with cutting down my gameplay to casual until the release. There are other things in life than the anticipation of itemization.
Not trying to flame you Brandon, if you took it that way. I totally agree with you on this. I thnk this game is very good, but those are some lame ass answers for hand picked questions.

This post of yours in particular is headed to a nice direction.
Why did it take them 2 or more weeks to beat around the bush and say that to "fix" a "bug" would break the game even more.... Is it me or does "fix" and "bug" reflect the fact that they are now admitting they made mistakes, but dont know how to fix them....
^ this is a legit question, and phrased in a way that it doesn't offend anyone or starts a discussion already poking the other side with something like "now what you gonna say stupid fanboys about them doing this?".
I don't really know the answer that you're looking for, though. I do find this stance of "we're not changing old items" very weird, particularly regarding CHC + CHD and these "bugs". I just logged in to see the prices of decent Zunimassa's Trails and Tal Rasha's Allegiance go up quite considerably just because of what was said on the dev blog (aka the old items will retain the massive bonus to black dmg).
There's already a huge disclaimer on the AH that items can and WILL be changed if the game so requires to be improved, so what's the big deal. Are they really that worried about harming RMAH users? Do they even realize that every "itemization patch" that improves the general quality of items just (as they said) raise the bar and increase the baseline which separates "good" from "bad" items. It has happened in the past, twice, and they're looking to do it again. Instead of just raising the bar, they should be giving us other "exercises" to do.
Something as simple as "secondary stats give twice as many defensive bonuses" would make that +300 STR Quiver decent. 600 armor on a Quiver? I know it's probably not the best stat to roll, but it's FAR from useless. 200 int could easily become +40 resist all, and if anything we need MORE variety while choosing our stats/affixes (aka a reason to use other stats), not LESS.
sorry for the rage, its hard to be constructive.... look at the official forum if you think im the minority here.... http://us.battle.net...69308133?page=1
Being constructive is providing clear and well thought out feedback, or asking for clarification on the reasoning of a certain change/feature. Asking what you asked is hardly raging.
Not being constructive is posting things like "yo thanks blizzard go fuck yourselves barbarians are ruined" because Blizzard reduced the damage of Whirlwind or Run like the Wind; which is what 80%~ of the official forums on all Blizzard games do, blow any changes way out of proportion -> an attitude that justifies their fear of changing anything even more.
The answers were kind of lame. The only thing that really annoyed me though was the suggestion that they will remove the current versions of the affixes which add % elemental damage based on "black" damage in favor of new affixes which work the way they originally intended. I don't have a problem with adding new affixes, but part of the problem here is that there aren't enough good affixes in the first place. In light of that, why would you remove one (really, a set of them) unless it was a major problem? Why not have both?

...and if you disagree with me, you're probably <insert random ad hominem attack here>.
At the end of the day, my loyalty will stay with D3....but i swear PoE is becoming more and more intriguing. It seems like the devs for that game sit around and listen to us here on this forum and try and fix all based off of what we say we want changed in D3. Constant new content, big changes, and a general sense that they are making the game for their players and not for themselves.... Boy that would be a nice feeling if Blizzard was humbled enough to appreciate that.
Right now it feels like itemization is so far gone there is no chance to save it without shifting focus to something else...unrelated like pony land.

PoE is such a poor game to actually play (the combat) that about the only thing they have to hang their hat on is "we'll put everything into our game that people complain about D3 not having".
The "problem" with ask the devs is that people expect it to be "Tell the Devs what to do and they will respond with exactly what you want to hear".
Funny how they are looking at elemental effects, like 3 years after they took them out. One of these days we will come full circle with Diablo 3s development and have skill trees again (I hope not).
Which is it for you guys?
A]. They don't know how to fix the problems?
B]. They know what fun is and we don't?
C]. They are to arrogant to admit they were wrong?
D]. They are trying to please everyone?
E]. They know exactly what they are doing by leading us on so they maximize profits for he xpac?
F]. All or some of the above
Its pretty hilarious to wait for months, get almost promised multiple good features and then read a disaster of a post like this. While the people responsible for this may be nice and everything
The delay is getting kinda frustrating indeed. I think this is the longest hiatus we've had of considerable upgrades since the game launched.
I'm still sad that it really looks like a good PvP system isn't going anywhere they're not even talking about it anymore. Having tried it at Blizzcon created a huge expectation on me
I posted in one of the rage threads in futile attempt to calm the nerves of select people. So I'm just gonna paraphrase what I said before.
It's hard to demand answers when answers don't exist. As a developer, what could you possibly tell the CMs to say to the player base when there's nothing concrete to report? It's an awkward and very uncomfortable situation to be in.
The only thing that could be said is "We're working on it. Good ideas from the players, just hold on" and that's not what people want to hear.
They can't hype up hypothetical changes either since what do you think would happen if it falls through? Look at the removal of Team Deathmatch for PvP. If they say they're going to bring the Mystic back and suddenly have her vanish before implementation, people will erupt. To be safe, the answer is going to be, "we're thinking of making additional changes to the whole artisan system." Now people might be disappointed in the answer/non-answer, but at least that's information nonetheless; it's just that there aren't any additional information.
We don't know what's going on behind the scenes. Not even the CMs know exactly what's going on behind the scenes. We can't demand what doesn't exist. And that's answers. If there are answers, one simple blog post / wall of text solves everything. But there aren't any. All we can do is be patient and wait to see what's in store in the future.
The problem with some people is that they expect every blue posts to be patch notes and promised future changes.
That's part of the problem. The other part is that everyone has jumped the shark to the point that if the game isn't fixed with YOUR changes on YOUR timeframe that it's a giant failure.
I'm not in love with these answers, they're very vague, but then again I never put that much stake in Ask the Devs. I'm much more interested in 1.0.8 at this point, since it's imminent. I just can't get too wound up (one way or the other) over what amounts to a blog about features that really haven't been hammered out. As sad as it may be, I expect them to come back with vague, uninspiring, answers in these segments and I expect them to become less vague as they work towards the patch preview blog as well as the PTR.
Do I love it? Hell no. Am I silly enough to expect anything else? Fuck no!
The fact is they don't have a lot of these answers yet because itemization is a ways off. Ask the Devs is not the place for them to announce new things which is obviously what everyone wants to see. Considering that I don't really understand why they did this Q&A, they should have picked another topic.

The reason it took so long was because the devs had to go to PAX East and are also working on bringing us the PTR online ASAP.
