Hey so i figure there is already a post out there about this but i cant find it. I'm living in EST and the game is released at 12:01 PDT so does that mean the servers wont go live for me till 3:00am EST? I'm just wondering so ill know what time to force myself to an early sleep so i can wake up on cue. I mean it would be sweet if i get on at 12:01 EST, but i'm pretty sure it doesn't work that way. Anyone who knows for sure it would be greatly appreciated.
One would imagine they would launch the game at 12:01am pacific since that's likely when the digital downloads would allow you to install. Whatever time they allow digital downloads would be my guess for the launch time, since they wouldn't be too smart allowing the game to release at 12:01am eastern, and digital downloads at 12:01am pacific, otherwise it'd be pointless.
edit: fwiw the digital download of Cata went live at 12:01am pacific / 12:01am CET depending on region, but not sure what time the actual content went live on each server?
Is it true that the servers wont be live until 12:01 Pacific?
This may be a good thing for me.
I have no clue if that is true i'm trying to find out how it works releasing a game over multiple time zones. I would love it if server went like for everyone in there own time zones at 12:01am. I just think thats not how its done.
We really don't know as they've yet to 100% confirm anything. Their last major release was Cataclysm and it was a simultaneous release at 12:01PDT. I'd just expect it to be 12:01PDT, then if it isn't and is released in each time zone at 12:01am you'll be pleasantly surprised.
This is relavent to my interests. Looking at getting a couple of days off work, so I need to know if I should get Tuesday (15th) off, or start time off on Wednesday (16th). Living in Australia an digital downloading as well.

I'd start my time off on Wednesday if you're in Australia, personally. Might depend on which server you intend to play on, too.

hmm.. I played cataclysm at 00:30 CET or so because of server issues, EU time, which is like.. 9 hours ahead of you guys
Guess I should have said North American servers, true. It's possible you guys will be able to play ahead if it is indeed 12:01PDT, more than likely you will. However I'm interested to see as, for all I know, there are no distinctions between the European and North American Diablo III, aside from the servers themselves (i.e. there is no European version of Diablo III).
It really depends on how much it matters to Blizzard if certain players get a head start over other players. They've said they aren't going to have Server/Region first level 60 Feats of Strength, so I don't think they'll care that much. I'd love for them to allow us to play at 12:01 Local, because I'd get a head start over most people in North America =p Besides my Newfoundland buddies.

But really just wait a few weeks they'll make an anouncement for that at some point before release.
