At some point we will grind for only the best gear. Then Act 1 and 2 will be obsolete.
It was always alright if we had to grind hell for best items to be able to somehow beat the inferno. At the beginning it would be tough but as we get inferno gear it would get easier. So flat inferno was almost absolutely fine.
The only problem with inferno was that you could get there better gear which kind of suggested it supposed to be another difficulty level and not flat mode. They should keep inferno as they now want but still give us flat inferno mode to choose from after we finish it. If this is impossible I would still rather had flat inferno as I wouldn't have to grind just one or two acts and when first expansion is released most probably only last act 5 will be grind to death if they go further down this road.

You are assuming you will never try to progress into Act III and just farm the first two acts.
Even late into D2, people had their bots farm every Act.

Below two great sarcastic quotes from blizzard forums:
1 - "It's perfect. Love playing it, love unlocking, love not having to grind stupid items to make my build. I can just play, have fun, and get to my build. I have enough things to grind for as is. Perfect, keep it, don't screw it up with stupid farming."
2 - "lol wont need to have MF chars, uhuuuuu"
This ^ is exactly what this change is going to do to D3 (more or less).

I don't know what you mean. I've never said (or at least didn't mean) I wouldn't farm act 3 or 4. I would progress into all of them so I have later on, all 4 acts to choose from to grind, without drawbacks of not being able to get the best possible items from all acts.
but well, I don't care that much anymore. I suppose that when Titan comes out they will give us what we want as all WoW lovers will switch to it. Possibly even sooner than that
They should make it so that you have to go through inferno once as the monster levels progress throughout it. After that, you have the choice to keep all monsters and bosses at the same level, or to keep it the same way (monster level progression).

yup, I call it a special mode (maybe "ubber mode" is better :)), which we should be able to choose (where all the monsters are difficult as same as in act 4). Kinda like hardcore mode. Let others "feel" the progress and just grind act 4. I wonder if they would like/not like the idea now and why.
They probably got some testers who could solo inferno and they realized that their "hard" mode wasn't hard. This is a good change, probably one of the few they made so far.

I just that it would work better that way, because it would make it so that everyone still feels the accomplishment of progressing throughout the game, but also being able to farm afterwards wherever you want to, and having a sense of "endgame" and "longevity" like Blizzard is aiming for.
I would rather be slaying the biggest bad ass creatures this game has offer than killing zombies all day. Pretty much this ^
You would still have a choice. If I want to slay zombies I don't have this choice anymore (not without a loss).
You're simply under the illusion that there was a choice in the first place, if you read into the details behind the change you would understand that progressive difficulty makes more sense.

I actually really like this idea. You must beat inferno mode to unlock a max difficulty across all acts and all monsters. That would satisfy everyone and add more replay value.
I like this idea. Feels like it gives you something to work towards. And now, when you get better gear while playing Inferno, you'll really have an effective gauge of comparison to see yourself progressing.
More difficulty is always a good thing, if you ask me.

Why are people throwing "it was an illusion" out whenever they feel like it - no matter the topic.
How would it be an illusion of choice to pick act 1 zombies to kill instead of act 4 whatever-monsters in the old Inferno?
Seems like a real choice.

You are describing the original idea - as presented by Blizzard - behind the inferno difficulty.
Yes, but now you have to beat the tiered version of inferno first to unlock that universal difficulty. It gives more purpose to beating the 4 acts instead of sitting in A1 all day.
I guess you can't please everyone. It was an illusion.

Almost, true. Just that I understand that not everybody wanted to get new better items without progressing through inferno even once (the feel of beating the inferno first time is actually better this way, kinda). But well, after they progress once (and probably have nothing relevant dropping for them) they would have a choice to progress again or choose a flat difficulty if they felt that act 4 difficulty was tolerable for them and they want to even all of them from now on.

Blizzard has only stated two things in today's post.
1) Act IV>Act III>Act II>Act I in terms of difficulty in Inferno
2) They lowered the difficulty in Act I compared to before
We have no clue whether Act IV got buffed - if anything it seems Act IV is just as hard as it was before - but we do not know. There is NO information about increasing the difficulty of anything.
Hmmm, I can't really find a post where they said that they've made it easier. Can you perhaps link it here, please?

You are really not making any sense at all...
So before you had to beat the game three (3) times Act I to Act IV. Blizzard's original design intent was that this would unlock the crazy mode - Inferno - where everything was really challenging - Act I to Act IV.
You are suggesting - and believes it is a good idea - that Inferno is also tiered as normal, nightmare and hell are - and then you add the Inferno Special difficulty mode after Inferno. That is in no shape or form different than the original design intent - except that you now have to beat the game four (4) times before unlocking the special difficulty instead of three (3). <scratches head>
So you want less content? The illusion is strong. Yes, that is exactly what I'm suggesting, but don't care about in the end because I will love this game and I know it. Getting inferno mode at all had me all giggly when I first heard of a 4th difficulty, all people can do is complain about good things which aren't even a negative. Diablofans is slowly turning into the Diablo official forums day by day. Rejoice for that which is Diablo and stop worrying your pretty little head over getting changes which you have NO IDEA about. Do you know how hard inferno is? No.
Tiered or not, who cares, if you like act 1, go farm act 1. You will still have a chance at very excellent loot with inferno mods, that in itself is justified to still be able to farm all acts.
