lol @ customers are the boss... you are waiting on them, you are dying for their game, you will make it sell mil plus in first week (as will i) so who is really the boss here? if we didnt buy the product blizzard wouldnt exist?? it came into existence without our help, it went from creating game ports and morphed into what it is today... we had nothing to do with birthing it, we just help support our adopted child... and dont lie, you will buy it and play it just like everyone else... it may b with reluctance but you know that there is crack in that little box, crack to be smoked for months on end that will keep you up until 3 am, make you lose sleep, controlling you...and whose the boss?

I won't buy Diablo if the game is delayed Q4+. It's not a lie and claiming so is ignorant. I have a line, as does everyone. I don't play Diablo like a crack addict, I'm sorry your projections of self have to reflect on others, but I am not you.
We are the boss, end of story. Without the masses to buy the product, then they COULDN'T stay in business. The birthing of the Blizzard has NOTHING to do with the maintenance of Blizzard. There is no correlation. We are the boss.
We are the boss we are the masses... wait what? Anyone who is posting on these fourms are not part of the masses and they are gearing this game to simple minded folk who are not Diablo hardcore. If you don't choose to buy it, thats your problem they will do just fine.

Playing Diablo since 97. I know nothing and having nothing good to say, I be a troll.
I wouldn't stress to much, sure we don't have a release date yet but its coming. They are starting to drops systems inorder NOT to delay the game more! They have a basic idea of when they want to release it. I predict that after they release the changes to the Rune skill system depending on how the community feels we will get our release date.
We are the boss, end of story. Without the masses to buy the product, then they COULDN'T stay in business. The birthing of the Blizzard has NOTHING to do with the maintenance of Blizzard. There is no correlation. We are the boss.
That doesn't even make any sense.
In the end they will still make the game they want to make, according to how they want it to be, and develop it for as long as they see fit. If you really were the boss, then e-mail them and tell them to release the game tomorrow, and we'll all see how they ignore you. Some boss you are...
We are not their 'bosses', this is more of a symbiotic relationship. We buy their product and they make it playable for us. We don't command them, but they are still dependant on our feedback. But we still use their product for entertainment value. You see, symbiosis.

if you think im projecting my life upon this, which obv im not between work, family, kids, etc, look what you just did? you think since you wont buy it if it comes out q4 that nobody will, you consider yourself the masses, the unpaid boss of a company. kind of hypocritical. maintenance has everything to do with birthing, you have to take care of it, nurture it as it grows, take your lumps because life isnt always smooth sailing. not that i would expect such reflection from a irate fanboy such as yourself

It's ironic that the fanboy is calling the kettle black.
All subjective. Tbh you can get mad whenever you want. Just realize that you come over as an immature kid and/or retarded when you whinge and whine on forums, crying for "justice".
So riddle me this. Why is it taking longer than Skyrim (which is massive by comparison) to make D3?
Wish I could tell you, but I really cant, seeing as I'm not in beta, nor am I on the dev team of Diablo3
I have faith in Blizzard, I'm sure they have their reasons.
As for Skyrim, perhaps they should learn a bit from Blizzard, considering the bugs in the game were as numerous as the possibilities...
Then there's the atmosphere. I really _REALLY_ hope D3 will have the same kind of atmosphere as D1. Tuning this is probably very hard (Yes, I'm quessing). Skyrim didn't really have an atmosphere to speak of to be honest. Hints of it here and there, depending on the mission, but overall I found it to be rather bland when it came to how areas and situations felt. I also think Skyrim cut some corners. One of which being voiced NPCs etc. Your average NPC has like one or two standard voices.
And before I get accused of hating on Skyrim or some such, I liked Skyrim.
Either way, I'm sure Bethesda has their way of doing things, and Blizzard has theirs. Respect it, it's not like you have some demand or right to Diablo 3. Patience is key

Yeah, it's odd how a person who screams for release and threatens to bail on the game, claims someone else is projecting obsession. No, I am a fan, but I can wait. Whenever it comes, it will come, doesn't matter because I know I'll play it eventually. But clamoring to play, screaming 'I want a cookie or I will ignore you' seems more obsessive than someone who is taking it as it comes.
Skyrim took only 3 years to release.
So riddle me this. Why is it taking longer than Skyrim (which is massive by comparison) to make D3?
Sadly, Skyrim is very limited, only it's deception is limitless.
For instance, few of your choices have real impact on the world, and I don't mean you kill an NPC and he stays dead, I mean impact. For instance, when you become Thane it's promised to you that you are of a higher standing, and people (especially guards) will look at you in awe and give you respect. But they don't they treat you like they did every other day. When you do things, like cause almost an entire town to die, people will just go on with their lives, no repercussions will come of it, except perhaps a guard may stop you, but they can always be bribed, no matter how severe your acts are, and they have no moral compass.
Secondly, Skyrim swims in an ocean of bugs, it sometimes even renders the game unplayable. The PS3 version is almost unfixable. The game is a mess, and pretty shallow at times. A rushed, squandered opportunity. It was far from terrible, but I'll always look back at it and shudder, it just left me wanting.
If I want a game where the world feels vibrant and my choices have consequences, then I'll rather play Mass Effect.
And hopefully Diablo 3 will have a lot fewer bugs, it certainly can't have more.

>Open World Game with huge lines of choices
>hear bitching about bugs from everyone
>feel sorry for their delayed birth depriving them of much needed brain cell oxygen
Also the game is more organic than Diablo 3 will be, also if you haven't noticed if you commit a crime in a city you are a thane of you have the choice to point out you're the thane and they will look the other way. Also I hear about these bugs that make the game unplayable but have never ran into one, on either Xbox or PS3. The biggest bug I saw was NPC's spinning perpetually in one spot.
Edit: I am not comparing the game types as they are vastly different, I am comparing size of the game VS development time. Which everyone tiptoes around or says "Blizz will do it their way because hurr."

I actually compared the dialogue to Mass Effect, not Diablo, since Diablo is an ARPG, not a normal RPG. Mass Effect did choices, impact, and consequences far better than Skyrim, and I hope the next Elder Scrolls up the ante, because some things are sloppy. And if you want to compare size vs development, D3 has action permanently with randomized sections, while Skyrim has open a lot of open space where nothing goes on, pockets of action, and many reused texturing.
>hear bitching about bugs from everyone
Yeah, lucky for you that you somehow never encountered any bugs. You received the only working Skyrim in on Earth. Good for you.
>feel sorry for their delayed birth depriving them of much needed brain cell oxygen
Cute
>if you haven't noticed if you commit a crime in a city you are a thane of you have the choice to point out you're the thane
So, it was impossible for them to add a few extra dialogues for the guards to give you recognition when you spoke to them, other than 'don't cause any trouble'? It was impossible for them to make your presence better felt in a town, other than you may now buy a house? You're right, I can see why the game took only three years to create.
>I am comparing size of the game VS development time. Which everyone tiptoes around or says "Blizz will do it their way because hurr."
Oh, I see. It's fine to poke at Blizzard and say how bad their choices are, how buggy the D3 beta is, how terrible some of the implementation is. However, it is unacceptable to point the flaws out in Skyrim, who cares, right? The game is so brilliant all the flaws just melt away. Yeah...

I never brought up the beta, also I didn't start the topic of bugs you did. Bugs are GOING to be in the game and I accept that. The problem I'm bringing up is the lengthy development.
ALSO I believe the guards say something along the lines of:
"Oh, I'm sorry my thane. Try not to get into too much trouble, even the influence of the Jarl has its limits."
sure someone has already stated this. but just for the sake of it.
even if they delayed it for ten years, you would STILL buy it if your here on the diabloFANS website. why? because you love the game and are a fan and will buy it no matter what. why? because its going to be a fun game and you want to have fun.
think of it like this. if someone offered you a thousand bucks. and said they would give it to you soon. and you started getting mad because they kept delaying giving you the money. if 5 years later they said "hey, here it is, take it" your going to say "no fuck your thousand dollars i dont want it out of principal" all that makes you is an idiot who refused free money. lololol

I love Skyrim. (I'm a level 43 High Elven Vampire Illusionist and on master difficulty, its a fun challenge.)
But the quests feel repetitive. The crypt based dungeons reuse the same graphics over and over. I've encountered so many weird bugs. Some have been fixed though.
I guess my favorite problem is that you can get bored, kill everyone killable in a town, and as long as you pay your fine everyone's still nice to you. Yet they execute the guard guy jsut for letting a prisoner escape. Also, Blizzard would never be satisfied with the quality of the script or the voice acting. Plus it's single player, so balance isn't a worry. If different builds in Diablo varied in power as much as Skyrim builds, there would be a lot of mad players. LOL
It's a fun game, but it's feels a bit unfinished to me. The whole things is so different from Diablo that comparing their development times doesn't prove much.
Ahhhhhhh! I have to add this. Once I shot a bandit in the neck with an arrow. "What was that?" he says. Then he looks around for a few minutes sits back down and says..... "Must have been my imagination....." The arrow , in your throat is just your imagination? Seriously? LOLZ ! Seriously love the game though.

I have become jaded to the fact this game keeps getting delayed, and bought CoD mw3 I will buy D3 next year (cause I can only afford one game a year).
LOL not even a month passed in 2012. It hasn't been delayed more, it's still "early 2012". And only stupid would assume they meant Jan-Feb, so it's still around March-April, it's still possible, so no delays so far.
U can start be mad if there's no official release date by the end of April.
Actually, I would start to get mad if there is no release date by end of February maybe March. Or Early 2012 is no longer, thus making it delayed. Have to think, there will be at least 2 month leeway when there is a release date.
At this point I don't really mind when it comes out since I'm back at school and busy as hell. I was hoping for it during winter break, but then it go delayed so yea.....
Edit:
Apparently this thread is about Skyrim now. My apologies.
