This can only end in disappointment. When a final decision
is
rendered and game still isn't released, finally people will realize the two weren't linked, as stated. But then the game still won't be out, so still no one is happy. I suppose those are just the ups and downs you have to expect when following something so closely.
"
Well, that does not prove that those things are not linked
And btw it looks we won't be hearing the release date even of GRB would give rating now...
Y you no give proper link?!?!
Use "Special BBCode" --> "Blue Quote" --> link in "Option" and content in "Content"
Yes, that doesn't mean anything...obviously they know we'll shit on their heads if they give us a release date right after Korea give their decision...so he basically also says that they won't be giving us a release date soon after the rating...and he's still being sort of ambiguous...even if Korea gave their decision today, they can still easily announce the release date 1 or 2 months from now and release the game in March/April with their "early 2012" wording which will be 100% correct.
Yes it does prove, yet again, the delay and Korea are not linked. You can't get much clearer. How many official statements from Blizzard explicitly stating Korea was not the reason for the delay will it take before you guys get off the conspiracy theory crap? I believe we are up to 5 now. Perhaps we need to see 5 more before some people will get it?
I'm sorry to say this, but I still won't believe Blizz even if they release the game the day BEFORE Korea give their verdict...

Are you actually this naive or is a pretend thing for lols?
Doesn't prove a thing, bashiok is so well known for being full of shit. Granted he is taking it to another level now, but he really has very very little credibilty. This isn't a conspiracy theory either, you ought to look that one up too.
He's well known for teasing people, yes. But he's also known for being very matter-of-fact as well. You can't lump every single one of this comments into one or the other.
He has very little credibility amongst those who believe the conspiracy theory that korea is the cause of the delay. To the rest of us, he's just a normal person.
This Bashiok's post sounded like they will on purpose delay the game just so everyone can make sure GRB and delay are not related.
No it didn't. He's incredulous that people still think Korea caused the delay.
I mean Bashiok probably (99%) does not know when exactly GRB will approve D3, so how can he even say what he said?
There's no doubt he doesn't know when GRB will rule. No one does. He can say what he said because this whole thing had nothing to do with the delay.
If GRB approves after 2 months and that is exactly when Blizzard finished their "polishing" then it will appear that Bashiok was wrong.
I am really confused why he even said that. I expect that to be deleted soon..
Exactly. Regardless of the timing, some people will always believe korea was the cause. If we get a release date shortly after they approve or disapprove of D3, they'll claim it's proof it was the delay. If the GRB decides on Friday and Blizzard finally announces a release date a month later, people will claim they delayed the announcement just to hide the fact that korea really did cause the delay. It's really quite humorous how much people want to believe it's all because of Korea, despite all the proof pointing to just the opposite.
It's really quite humorous how much people want to believe it's all because of Korea, despite all the proof pointing to just the opposite.
What proof? Only proof against Korea-delay-theory is Bashiok, and we all know that he is not very reliable. However, Korea-delay-theory has quite a big amount of evidence...and most importantly reliable evidence.
Bashiok isn't reliable to those who believe Korea is the cause. If he was reliable, you'd have no argument. Logical fallacy on your part. As I said earlier, there are times when he's joking around and there are other times when he is quite matter-of-fact. It's very easy to distinguish between the two.
What reliable evidence? No one has posted anything like that, so please share. So far all we've seen is a bunch of logical fallacies, bad translations from Korean to English, and assumptions.
It's really quite humorous how much people want to believe it's all because of Korea, despite all the proof pointing to just the opposite.
"Proof pointing to the opposite"? What are you talking about? Maybe I don't know something..
So why exactly D3 was delayed? I bet because of simplified tooltips, right?
Multiple statements from Blizzard telling us that it wasn't Korea.
How long have you been playing Blizzard games? (honest question here). They have a very long history of delaying games or releasing them "when they are ready". They are picky, for better or worse.
He has very little credibility amongst those who believe the conspiracy theory that korea is the cause of the delay. To the rest of us, he's just a normal person.
It still isn't a conspiracy theory, a conspiracy theory means that there is an evil plot involved, and there isn't. Blizzard is just doing business.
It doesn't matter if there is evil involved or not. A conspiracy theory is when a fringe group of people don't believe in something, regardless of the huge amount of evidence to the contrary. Man hasn't walked on the moon, aliens landed in New Mexico, Elvis isn't really dead, etc etc
Also, why do you think Bashiok was just fired? :3 (yeah yeah i know he might not be, but it'd be hillarious)
That post will definitively prove you wrong, if not you lack common sense. Sorry.
Wow, now we really have hit a low point. Please tell me he isn't your sole source for all this. You think Bash isn't reliable yet you quote someone who....isn't reliable. Interesting.
All he's doing is regurgitating what others are saying.
Blizzard has dug a grave for itself by publicly committing to a simultaneous global, region-free launch for the first time in company history. Because every country will receive identical software, the Korean board’s decision is keeping the global game giant in chains.
Nothing factual here. It's strictly his opinion.
But in this case, the high-profile visit to Korea last September by Michael Morhaime, Blizzard’s CEO and co-founder, his meeting with the Game Rating Board members and the subsequent announcement the following day of a fresh delay, combine to fuel the blogosphere controversy.
Then we have this. Morhaime didn't rush to Korea in Sept to meet with the GRB. He was already there as part of a news conference to push D3. Whether he actually did meet with the GRB is purely speculative. The only report we have of this "meeting" is here http://www.koreatime.../123_95415.html
So what some will have you believe is they flew out to Korea JUST to meet with the GRB on Sept 22, forgetting the fact that the game hadn't been submitted for a review yet. And from this meeting, a decision and public announcement to delay a game the size of D3 was all done within 24 hours. Really? All this is based upon a supposed meeting with the GRB about a game they hadn't even submitted for review, and wouldn't submit for review until December. It's all quite a fantastic tale.

did you just read parts of the article i posted??? read the whole thing please...
“In principle, we are always committed to a global release,” said spokeswoman for Blizzard

Oh I read the whole thing. The quote means nothing. Of course they would prefer to release their products globally, which is what the quote says. They didn't release WoW:BC or WoTLK globally, so it doesn't mean they won't. The comment is nothing more than the company line.
and to add to that, they already said they would be 100% willing not to release it globally at this point... they wont hold the game back for one region..
Would it be naive to assume that there are Blizzard employees posting on this website under different screen names? even if I had a small business I would devote some of my time to positive PR via anonymous forum activity, this is a major corporation we're talking about with PR divisions.
Also, it would also be naive to assume that a major distribution problem is not going to take resources away from releasing the game. That is a stone cold fact, they don't have unlimited resources.
looks like the version without the cash-out feature will get the aimed mature rating on Friday. The cash-out feature will need a separate rating if it wants in.
And there's something I'd like to add to the 'GRB delay' argument. Korean journalism is not known for it's... professionalism, it's pretty much a cesspool of sensationalism and open propaganda in the raging war between 'commies' vs 'capitalist pigs'. Don't think your media is any different? At least yours ride the fine line and try to put up the ruse of being neutral, ours don't even try to pretend to be neutral and, when they do, they suck at it.
This Daeity person, not being aware of this, seems to be putting too much confidence on the exact wordings of the Korean Herald article. Oh yeah, and I can't speak for Diablofans or INCgamers, but when he looked down on MMO-champ as a reliable source of news that kinda raised a red flag for me.
I hope this damn Korea thing gets resolved soon so that people can stop saying that they delayed it because of a single country. When the majority of their player base is everywhere but Korea(Not saying Korea isn't a huge part, just saying they don't have a majority over everyone else), then they wont delay it based upon one country. So heres to an approval for release in Korea and no release date to confirm that Korea wasn't delaying it.

I don't always burn. But when I do, I use hellfire.
This Friday morning on Jan 6th 2012, members of GRB in S.Korea had a meeting to rate games and the result has just been posted at its web site. There is no D3. So I have made a phone call at GRB to double check that is true. The answer is there is no result on D3 today. At this moment there is no news on when the board will handle D3.

Please, bullying is going to happen no matter what games the kids are playing on the weekends, though it is true that cyber bullying is extremely common, just looking at how nearly every other person online thinks they're some hilarious troll, but who really committs suicide over something that happens to everyone. But when it's kids in your scool you have several choices. Get help from the authorities, man up and do something about it yourself/deal with it and make the bullies accept that you're not going to take it anymore, accept it and be a depressed weakling, or give up all hope and emo out.
It's probably all political and about pressure and money. Diablo won't be the only blizz game played in korea. Starcraft/2 are huge. It's just my personal opinion but the agencies in Korea are quick to play politics- the social victim or the offended outstanding professionals who then make demands.
