But regardless how you feel about that blog, other news sites are reporting it as well (mainly Korean ones).
So I'll boil it down real quick here. Blizzard submitted the game to the GRB a few weeks ago. A few days ago the GRB requested "additional materials" in order to come to a conclusion about the game and the RMAH.
Then recently, instead of complying with that request, Blizzard abandoned that submission and simply resubmitted the entire game again with some RMAH content cut out of it.
It seems their plans are to release the game in Korea without the RMAH and then work on getting it in at a later date via a patch.
From what I understood they still intend to keep the RMAH but only for "blizzard bucks" and with no option to cash-out. They still have to get that accepted though so it's nothing for sure yet.
From what I understood they still intend to keep the RMAH but only for "blizzard bucks" and with no option to cash-out. They still have to get that accepted though so it's nothing for sure yet.
Yes they are trashing the cash out option and trying to leave Blizzard Bucks in for now.
Definitely nothing for sure but it does show that Blizzard will do what they have to do to get it out the door. If it came down to it they will cut it out instead of holding the game back any longer. That's what I take away from the situation.
This whole thing makes me feel certain we will have a release date before January 14th which points to 1st week of March release.
Theres much work to be done =[ The delay has nothing to do with it.
The beta is a very old build, so the game quality shouldn't be judged on it. There will be bugs, make no mistake about it. Every piece of software has bugs.
Theres much work to be done =[ The delay has nothing to do with it.
I wouldn't be entirely sure about that. I have no doubt's that Blizzard will push the game with a crap ton of bugs.
I think he meant that the RMAH Negotiating shouldn't have anything to deal with the delay?
My opinion, this was never the problem of the delay. I think Blue posts finally spoke the truth on this part. I think the fact the AH (both RM and GM) have bugs with it, the rune system isn't complete, and final touches on everything else, is why it's been delayed.
I also believe it's poor work that the rune system has so many problems with it. The rune system has been in the making since day 1. They actually had a decent system built that was just about finalized, but they trashed it and had no back up.
Theres much work to be done =[ The delay has nothing to do with it.

well said. I think people forget about that at times.

Bashiok has already stated that it is definitely PART of the delay. I believe that it's not the only reason.
BUT, I also believe that the only reason anything else isn't "finished" is because they had this extra time to do things so they started tinkering with stuff more. I think If this whole situation never happened they would have shipped it as is.
Jay Wilson has said that things like the rune stone system aren't holding the game back, that they had an awesome game but they just wanted to try to make some parts of it better. If they had to ship it as is it would be fine because their original ideas were still good. When this GRB stuff happened, they got the time they needed to try to do that. That's how I think things went down.
That's my opinion of course but every time something happened between the GRB and Blizzard there has been some news post (the oringal delay post) or new beta contest. Seems all too coincidental. If we get a release date soon after the GRB stuff, we'll know.
Interesting news. So they got some information from them saying that some specific feature (cash-out) can't be in the game, after which they re-applied the entire game, but this time without the cash-out feature?
Well, they weren't told that the cash out feature couldn't be in the game, the GRB just wanted more documents and stuff outlining and explaining the RMAH better so they could make the most educated conclusion on the feature as possible. They were given a week (or something like that) to gather those materials and give them to the GRB.
Instead of doing that though, they just resubmitted without the cash out feature so it's a "Blizzard Bucks" AH (can still use the money to buy Blizzard services at the Blizzard store). They did this because they either didn't want to waste any more time (they know players are in unrest over the delay) or becuase they felt a week wasn't long enough to get their best material together to defend the RMAH. I think it's a little of both.
So they will still try to get the enture RMAH in Korea, they just want to do it via a patch at a later date.
This definitely points at the GRb being a huge reason for delay in a release date announcement. If anything, the GRB stuff is holding back the release date but not the game since once the GRB stuff is over they will have a good idea of how long everything else will take.
Bashiok has already stated that it is definitely PART of the delay. I believe that it's not the only reason.
You'll have to link to that statement, as I don't believe anyone else has seen it.
Several blue posts have stated that the RMAH issue in Korea had nothing to do with the delay. They specifically mentioned it may delay a Korean release, but nothing else.
Bashiok made a comment that the korean rmah wasn't entirely the reason for delays and then deleted the comment. The gist of what he said meant that the korean rmah definitely did play a part in delaying the game, but that there were other concerns as well.
I still believe that if the rmah didn't even exist that we'd all be playing d3 release right now.

our blue tracker keeps any deleted blue post..I dont see anything like that either.

Yeah, you'll have to do a little better than that. Find it in the blue tracker and give us a link.
There have, however, been several posts specifically saying the rmah did not cause the delay
.. Nevermind.. see the topic is RMAH approval in Korea.
So that's the first blatant response from Blizzard. The link goes into more detail and explains that there is no one thing causing the delay, nor is there anything outside of the game causing the delay.

I don't know what translation you're reading but no where has it been stated the release of the game on a whole is delayed because of a GRB rating. Might it delay the game in Korea? I suppose no one knows, but we still have some time since the game is not finished. We're playing internal builds, the entire game, we'd know if it was. I'd know.
Although a launch of the game at the global level is always our preference, i would like to point out that it has not always been possible to release the game at the same time throughout the world and that this has not stopped the release of the game. Suffice it to think of what happened in China with the expansions of WoW, for example. Each region has always unique problems, especially when it comes to business model (Brazil and Russia for StarCraft II) or legislative items (China and South Korea).
While Zhydaris isn't as blatant as Bashiok, Z clearly reiterates the theme.
Superfula beat me to it. I have only ever seen posts saying that RMAH HASN'T caused delays. Never seen the posts saying otherwise, but would be interesting if you could find them/if they were true.
Theres much work to be done =[ The delay has nothing to do with it.

well said. I think people forget about that at times.
Also for a feb/march release they still have 2-3 months to do hardcore debugging and this goes faster one every ressource is put into it. Right now they are still playing around with features so debugging is not at full speed. Don't forget day1 patch.
As I understand, and as Verity said, the material Blizz submitted did include the RMAH, but without the option to "cash-out", meaning Blizz can still get some moola, but Koreans can't withdraw the Real Money they make from selling/buying stuff in the RMAH. So technically it's not considered gambling or illegal or "GBR does not approve" or whatever, so Blizz will add the "cash-out" feature through a content patch IF the current version gets approved.
For me this is good news, Blizz probably knew about the rage/anger of the people thinking that Korea is the big culprit for the delay and am probably personally also sick and tired of waiting for one fucking country to get approval. Now they still intend to release globally, minus the RMAH's "cash-out" in Korea.
Blizz is trying to solve this problem as fast as possible. The material they submitted now, don't have the "gambling-notion" to it, meaning the chance for Korea to approve the current submitted material has greatly increased! If GBR approve this material in the coming weeks, we WILL get a release date shortly there after, since Blizz couldn't predict the outcome of the earlier submitted material as well as the current (even though it's highly likely to get approved.)
Nice. Just another bit of proof that it has nothing to do with the delay, as multiple Blue posts have already stated.
How can this have nothing to do with the delay?! It may not be the only reason for the delay, but it is one of the causes of the pushback...you can't deny that. Technically Blizz may be right, cause they can honestly say that the game got delayed cause "the game just isn't ready". Technically this is 100% correct. This can mean anything from:
1 - There's a couple of bugs that needs to be worked on and some polishing to be done to have the ultimate game upon release.
2 - Or it can mean that the shit they are adding now (which was supposed to get implemented only after release), RE-polishing, RE-iterating of features ect are not done (which is again 100% true), but what they don't say is the cause of this clusterfuck of new shit, RE-polishing, RE-iterating of stuff. If you want to say it's not the Korean RMAH's fault, be my guess. I'm just gonna repeat the stuff I already said and I don't wanna! <_<

Having moved the release date, our development team has been available to the additional time they are using is to finish the game, but also to add items that were not able to be included with the old date of issue (or better with the old forecast).
This includes details such as the 3D model of a particular monster, the graphics of some legendary item, or even the balance of skills, runes and classes in general.
What else can be the reason for the delay? Of course there's the rune-system, but they've been busy with that from day 1, so they're suppose to be done with that by now ffs!

According to Blizzard, it wasn't any one particular thing that caused the delay. Nor was it anything outside of the game. So it could have been any number of issues. They weren't quite sure about runestones, battle.net issues, auction house bugs...I could go on and on. Blizzard is notorious for not shipping games until they are completely satisfied with the game.
Let's just take all the blue posts aside that say the Korea rmah had nothing to do with the delay. Just on Blizzard's history alone we shouldn't be surprised it was delayed. It's something they are known for. They are seeking perfection. The devs may keep a game in development forever if given the chance. I don't know much about it, but Starcraft Ghost was fairly well along in the dev cycle yet it was completely cancelled. These are very picky people. The company also has a history of delaying games in particular countries due to legal issues. But in the end, we do have multiple posts by Blizzard employees categorically saying that the Korean RMAH issue had NOTHING to do with the delay, yet not even a hint from them that it was part of the delay. For some reason people refuse to believe them and think the opposite is true. I'm not sure why this is even a discussion...
you guys are making a valiant effort to not blame the korean rmah. i'm not sure why you're fighting it so hard when it's obvious that's what's caused d3 not to be released already.
any other bugs or game tweaks could easily be made after launch. blizzard doesn't sit on a game until it's 100% perfect because it's never perfect. you're trying to argue that when d3 is eventually released, that there will be zero bugs and they'll never tweak the rune system or anything else.
but of course they will tweak it. they'll probably make sweeping changes at some point too. there will be probably be known bugs still active in release. so that excuse doesn't mean anything.
