Just noticed my wow acc is banned, haven't played wow for a year. I have gotten odd mails though, telling me of some fishy things going on with my acc. I didn't mind them as I quit wow, and never intending to go back. But will my wow acc status affect my chances in D3 beta ?
Even if you dont care about wow anymore, you should worry that someone has access to you bnet account... they have access to personal information and to current and future games you might get. Call blizzard...
They don't have access to my bnet account. I fixed that. Changed pass and all that. But my wow acc is banned, that's all. That doesn't matter, as I don't play.
I don't know how this will work with beta Diablo III, but with the release, since you use your single Battle.net 2 account for everything, you will be banned from all the games except for the legacy ones, I believe. I may be wrong. I do remember this being mentioned as intentional at some point, but I don't have time to find a source.
Unfortunately I think you probably don't have a good chance anymore, as one of their requirements for the beta is if your account is on good terms with them. So if you have been reported a lot for hacking, botting, flaming and the whatnot, they most likely will not invite you. I would defiantly call them and get it straightened out, because if someone was doing something bad enough on your account to get you banned (probably spamming for a gold website), then I'm pretty sure you won't get invited.

If your account was hi-jacked and banned -- changing the password won't be enough if your computer is compromised. I'll say run the following:
1. Avast Anti-Virus
2. Spybot: Search and Destroy
3. MooSoft The Cleaner (This one is entirely dedicated to Trojan detection only)
Some people like to use Kapersky anti-virus. You can give that a shot.
Once you are completely sure your system is clean, change passwords.
no, it wont. As long as your account itself isnt banned and you have an active game like SC2 or a subscription on wow you are in the beta pool.
It doesn't have to be "active" though, does it? The only game on my account is WoW but I haven't played that in years...
It has to be active to post on the forums, but to opt into the beta. I had a wow account on another b.net account I used for dualboxing, they expired over 2 years ago and had no problem submitting my beta profile... (unlike accounts where if you have no games, you cant). However I cant tell you if this means you're still in.
But like I said, if you have any of those other games, your good 100%
WHOA WHOA WHOA... I didn't know my account had to be in "good standing." WTH does that mean? I have an inactive WoW account because I quit, but also have a SCII account, HOWEVER, I did get frequent temp bans for various things when I played WoW. Usually for dumb things regarding chat language or name violations (explicit names that got reported).
For you people who abide by Blizzard's TOS and actually behave, I'll fill you in on Blizzard's "Penalty Volcano."
The last ban I received was a 72 hour suspension for naming my Priest alt PedoDuck. I thought it was funny at the time, apparently Blizzard did not, even though I don't think it was really that bad. So apparently I'm just a hop skip away from the dreaded "Account Closure." Do you think this would affect my beta invite chances?

Ok your account isn't "banned" if you simply stopped playing, which is what it sounds like you're saying. However if you were banned for violating the TOS, then yes it probably affects your beta standing.
I have a feeling this guy got HIMSELF banned and is making up a story around it to see if he can still get in the Beta.
The short answer is, No. If you have warnings and flags on your Battle.net account, especially BANS, your chances of getting in are slim because there are millions of users with no issues whatsoever to pick from.
I would have banned someone for making the name "PedoDuck" if I was in control of WoW, just saying. That's something a 14 year old would find funny. I'm sure multiple suspensions and issues on Starcraft 2 Battle.net will also secure you in the no-beta club, as well, PedoDuck.
They need beta TESTERS, and people who are responsible with their beta clients. Not people who make stupid characters and flame and troll and cause issues that require suspension or flags or warnings.

Ha. Bagstone.
I'm going to go out on a limb and assume a banned account, for whatever reason, is not in good standing.

In other words, yes it will.
he can have d2,sc1,wc3..ect and still be good or the beta.

na don't think warning would do anything
