Cataclysm release date was announced at about midday and I expect that same for D3. As is it is about 9:30 AM in California so I expect a couple hours before the announcement.

oh the horror, its 6:30 pm here where i am at the moment, in 6 hours it will be tuesday for me, so i hope release date will be announced at tuesday

I was trying to find on the intarwebs what time of day the releases happened on the previous Monday announcments. I couldn't find it. I was thinking 9AM made the most sense as it gave the whole day for further hype / word spreading. Also, when the big system change article went up, it went up right at 9am pst on the dot. So I was just assuming.
here is hoping later in the day can happen.
Would love to see a link to the time of day SC2 or Cata's press release hit.

I was wrong. After doing the math, which was hard, it was actually announced at about 5:30 AM. MMO-Champion posted the article at, what I originally thought, was 1:38PM Central but in fact, it was six hours ahead of Central time. Sadly I am too depressed to search for the SC2 release date announcement.

Well I gotta leave for a track meet in about an hour so have fun speculating. Hopefully there is an announcement today and just in case, I shall have my phone on standby.

Dont see there being an announcement today unfortunately, all this week they are busy with the press and MOP so I doubt they have time to devote to D3 and next week they lift the NDA on said press event so it wont be then either, maybe in 2 weeks time the time will be right.
They have their own team dedicated to just D3. The MoP Press Event will in no way disturb any D3 announcement made.

Doesn't look like it will be up today. I know Cataclysm's press release was posted on Blizzard's press site somewhere before 10 am. Wowinsider had it posted at 9:50.
Looks like they're going to get us next week. I suspect they want to get even more annual pass folks to sign up by potentially getting us the info from MoP's press event (embargo lifts on the 19th, nw monday) so people interested in MoP on top of the announced date of D3 will spur of the moment buy the pass. You may think it ridiculous, but there are definitely people who fall to that sort of thing. I know I can be.

The PvP Update was posted at 3PM Pacific. Just because they announced the Cataclysm Release Date in the morning, doesn't mean D3 should of came around that time. I just means that is when we could of first seen it. If there is no news posted by 6PM Pacific, THEN we can, most likely, conclude that it will not be today. Plus D3 is only related to WoW through the Annual Pass. So there will be no D3 announcement in the press event. Why? Well Blizzard has stated many times, Everyone will know the date at the same time. With the NDA lifting on the 19th, there will be people who know the release date before us than and that goes against what Blizzard has said in the past.

the user was talking about the release date obviously, jay could have easily been trolling. lots of ways to look at it (or the when they said an all important announcement awhile ago, they were talking about this...ect...ect
