Playing through 65+ levels and only doing Baal runs sounds about the same.
If you do crap like that, you deserve all the 'boringness' that you get. I never did that sh*t.
To be clear, I wasn't calling you out or anything, I was just making a point. Sorry if it sounded that way. I never did that, and hence why I rarely play D2 much anymore, apart from playing with friends and of that sort.

Sorry, I wasn't saying that YOU particularly deserve 'boringness'. But people who basically do Baal runs all day every day deserve to get bored. It's turning a game into a chore.
Indeed; but how else would you suggest reaching high levels? After lvling all my classes to 75 or so multiple times to get the build right the only thing left to do is grind for exp.

In d2 each difficulty was +33 monster levels, so I'm assuming in d3 it will be +20 per difficulty level.
Its probable that initially the story will take the same if not longer to complete than d2's. If you look at sc2 and its planned expansions the total story will be about twice as long as the original starcraft and broodwar.
So I think level 60 wont take quite as long as level 99 did, but significantly longer than 60 did for LOD.
If they are planning 2 expos for d3, that could also mean a final level cap of 100.

I hope that d3 lvling will be harder ( not in terms of length between final lvls 90-99 65-70). You could get 1-80lvl in about 2hours (yes, and even faster if you have any clue about the game), 1-90 3+ hours. I think blizzard will be smart enough to stop high lvl chars from xping the lowest ones.
Keep in mind guys Blizzard has already said that by the end of Hekk you should be max lvl, right now we're more less just giving our opinion of what it should be.

If you could get to level 90 in 3-4 hours, you must have hacked... lol
Yup, it's mathematically impossible with how much EXP/lvls you get from rushing through all 3 difficulties, than doing B-runs you still wouldn't reach 90 in 3 hours. I've reached 80 in a day, and I can tell you it was around 3-5 hours.

Did you play at bnet? You get 1 lvl char to hell, you need some friends ofc and to know few things. You do cs runs with 1lvl char and boom..Some people even offer lvl services inside uber trist. Just sometimes you should avoid talking only from your experience and look at people who actually played at bnet for 5+years. Even after rr without rushes people were 70+lvl ( in HC) like 3-4 hours after it started.
AND LOL mathematically impossible, calculations please of "impossibility"
I didn't take into account uber farming, my bad. I had only done that once and the game dropped constantly due to the rate at which the hammerdins were killing the spawning skeletons and the but barbs not keeping their distance behind that rock.. After that I just stuck with Baal runs, in which case it is impossible to reach 90 in 3 hours doing. With uber farming on the other hand yes it is possible. I really hope the team makes it impossible to skip content as rushing involved in d2. Between that and duping the game broke quickly.
On topic though I would like to have to grind a little bit after completing hell. It would help separate players whom play more.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, I've gotten to 80 in about 2 hours, but from 80-90 is a lot more than 2 hours. Even getting a game lined up to power level can take time.
Well that wasn't the case in D2. After completing Hell you needed to grind for hours to get to level 99.
Hours? What have you been smoking?
Make that months if you are playing legit. One week has passed since the reset and the bots that are on top of the ladder are still only at level 97, and they are probably going at it 24/7.
Exactly lol. After lvl 92 it's pixel by pixel that your exp bar moves per Baal run lol.

I think if you do all quests/sidequests and w/e in all difficulties you should be level 60 or vary close.

Well, the game was pretty fast up to 90, but 90-99 was really slow. I've never done it. I always got bored around 93-95ish, but leveling was part of the endgame. Hopefully, they have some replacement for the time spend grinding.
Did they ever stated a reason why it's 60?
(in term of the actual number)
What makes 60 better than 75 as example.
I don't really dig the Normal 30, Nightmare 20, Hell 10 = 60 thing.
First because it does not match DII in playing pace nor level pace and playing time(story mode).
P.S. I think a few days (2-3 h per day) of grinding to hit cap after story would be fine.
Well you can't compare it directly to D2, as levels will require different amounts of expirience. But the reason they chose 60 is that number corresponds to how powerful they want each level to feel. The more levels you have, the less each one will matter, and 60 is what led to the right amound of power per level.
i don't think something like a week of grinding to hit the last lvl would kill som1
Well one week of grinding isn't bad at all (especially if you compare it to D2), but Blizz doesn't want D3 to be a "grinding" game. It's all about fun, not repeating the same thing over and over (even though in D2 it still was pretty fun). lol

=) i understand
but sometimes i ask myself.. why d2 was so GREAT if there was so many wrong things, according to blizz, sure wasn't a perfect game.. but for me the best one at all
for me the best answer at this lvl discussion is something between "d299wtflvling way" and the new 60 by the end of hell.. as i said, grinding some days.. but it's actually a minor problem
