The question is simple, what and why did you find the most appealing weapon/weapon combination, based on your playthrough the beta or just beta footage. I added options that might not be used in the beta, but can be useful/fun in the actual game.
Voted 2x Hand crossbow because it looks so gangster. I dont have beta so i can't speak for the usage of the weapons, but i am hoping they make some pretty l33t end game 2x hand Xbows so i could rock it late game.
Also I love the look of 2 Hand Crossbows but I am still confused how they work. At least we know there are repeater Crossbows in our history but they all require 2 hands. Maybe I'm just a little too nitpicky. This is the series where we literally fought the devil after all.

Still waiting for Blizzard to reveal that the dual handcrossbow was just a terrible joke, and that they will be removed... One can only hope. Quite possibly the most retarded weapon I've seen in a Blizzard game. So... unfitting. The only place they belong is in a bad John Woo movie.
Definetly 2x Hand Crossbows. Even if they do slightly less damage, its like the signature of the demon hunter. Also the same reason ill be using 2x fist weapons on the monk, i like to have quick, rapid strikes rather than slower, more powerful shots.

(this build was before D3 launched... looking back on it now - i had no idea what i was doing)
going to have to go with hand xbow and a shield. I plan on using a close range DH. But will need Multishot (Alabaster) to regen Discipline or else I'd go with a weapon and shield
Defiantly a two hand bow. Just feels way powerful in the beta =) There's always an up with 2x handxbows such as faster hatred regen when spamming say grenades, but the power of a bow is awesome. Plus it's classic =)
One crossbow in one hand is strongers then bows ans crossbows. Dual wielding = broken.
Have you played beta lately? They actually upped 2 hander damage for everything, and I can safely say I kill just as fast with a bow than with 2 handxbows
Edit: The only time it's going to be more powerful is in instances when you've outleved and out geared the content, such as a level 13 in beta. If you're one shotting things then the handxbows are going to kill faster because you shoot faster, but if it takes a couple hits then it's almost equal.
*second edit; There's almost no rares or level 13 bows or xbows in beta, so if you're using the rare level 13 handxbows from the BS....well duh.
Voted for Crossbow and Quiver as most of my builds will be based on heavy damage per shot.
I'll be using the DW Hand Xbows for builds in groups where I'm doing mob control via stuns that are % chance based. Faster shots means more oportunity to keep things on lock down.

Procs are why I love extremely fast, low damage shots instead of the slow single megahits. I've always done much more damage this way. Atma's Scarab was my favorite item from D2, the only ammy I'd put on my 99 Assassin, for this reason. I would Blade Fury a pack for a second or two to spread Amp-Damage everywhere and then let loose. Refreshing was as easy as throwing another Blade Fury every once in a while.
I'm hoping there will be some pretty awesome/unique %on-hit effects in D3. Definitely voted dual crossbows.
Well call me a fanboy, but I absolutely adore the dual crossbows that were used in the DH trailer. Something about firing two weapons that somehow reload themselves automatically is pretty crazy!
This is a tough topic to decide on for me...on the one hand, the DH as a class "feels" the best with dual handxbows, but of the choices I like bows the best. At first when I was thinking endgame, I thought bow+quiver might be best endgame, but now that I think about it some more, I think dual xbows might actually be best. We all know how incredibly good near perfect yellows will, I think they'll probably end up making dual xbows better, but it might take a while for people to find them that good.

This topic covered the most basic weapon choices, but it's a bit old, things might have changed ever since then.
