not sure how the WD movement skill works, but at least for the Monk that i know, it may not be faster, but it's definitely safer since you can't be hit while running in incorporeal form. so it seems pretty balanced to me.
what i'm more curious about are the skills they plan to implement. i'm sure there's gonna be more traps. but i have no idea about any close range abilities other than Fan of Knives that we've seen so far. sure, grenades can be fun, but you got to keep your distance if you can't fight them off very effectively in close range.
Watching the gameplay trailer the one thing that kinda looked weird was that the DH was dropping granades and setting traps and then running through them herself. Kinda looks weird when everything around you explodes but youre safe.
Well, not many games allow your own weapons and abilities to hurt yourself. Assassin walked through her own traps all the time. Now, say if you're playing a FPS and you fire a rocket right next to yourself, that's hurt me before.
With the swarms I've seen from gameplay vids, i don't think there will really be an issue with the traps being step-triggered. Although i can see how the skill losses its usability when you gotta lead monsters over it....
Another thing im interested in is the grenade skill. It seems like it would be a tough one to master with the bounce and the distance timing.
Awesome looking class and im sure we'll be seeing masses of DH in the first days of D3

I don't think it does. It's just more of a tactical ability that you gotta plan out.

Again though with it being a tactical skill. I like the idea that they are coming up with more skills that aren't just solely meant for doing damage. Sounds like some of these skills will be more for crowd control.
I HATE TO BE THE NEGATIVE ONE but I have to say that I am not a fan of every missile of hers glowing so much.
Sure, its easier to see, but I personally value a more realistic, toned down look rather than ease of visibility.
Like come on, do the twirl of knives really have to glow red? I would be able to see them just as well if they are just dull metal.
To me at least, raw metal seems a lot more brutal than magical glowing metal. Magical glowing things make me think that somehow if I can glow brighter than it can, it won't hurt me.
The best kind of fire arrows I've seen in a Diablo game where the ones in Diablo 1. They looked more realistic and just the tips of the arrows were on fire.
Since I have read the DH page and seen that each bolt from her dual crossbows hits each demon, does this mean that she might have a strafe-like skill at her disposal??

"Nothing is True. Everything is Permitted." ~ Ezio Auditore de Firenze
Back Stab: melee close range stabbing dealt spontaneous damage growth. Wound Walk: Grow yourself out of enemy's wound after dealing severe damage to his/her flesh. Tracking the prey down like a out-closet witch hunt. Perhaps use the prey as a vessel to haunt and destroy near by members of his/her teammates. Watch Tower: Suit stand the demon hunter in a strategic location in the battle ground, dementionally dropping down drones and sentry, being a watchtower for pvp teamplay. Droping down Blockades at the enemy for teamates retreat/tunneling underground.(I'm afraid this is only an idea; not constructive well) Glassy Bloody Marry: Create a fractured image of the demon hunter giving the enemy opportunities to batter it, the fracture glass structure stands out as meteor spike depends on how much it was takening the blow, instant heavy damage will react immediate death retaliation. Making the enemy cautious before throwing down instant dmg spell at the demon hunter. This explores delusional mind game for demon hunter's survival skill without having to give DH additional health boost, ruining the core value for the character. Blood Sucker: the demon hunter was slaven by vampires in her/his past life. Having the ability to sunken the enemy dry. Using fast dps (damage per second) out grown the damage that is dealt by the enemy in close range, and strategically sucking the enemy dry while struggling to survive. (triggered only in battered low health?) A Toy From An Angry God: Shoot and mark the target with her private collections of arrows, arrows that she charmed away from the angry god, Zeus. Who ever was marked by the arrow will be zapped by animalized attack from the horrible above (lightning bolts). Obey the instructions (draw back distances, or attack teammates) or significant elemental disaster will occur on the body. Freaks: The Demon Hunter's soul is infested with lunatic, powerful humans, (necromancer without bodies) and soldier demons that she lost in battles, unsuccessful posssession within her, parttake her to experience her mortal life. Within series of range attack taking place, she can potentially morf out a mirrored self in random drop location of each arrows. 1)She can trigger a skill and continue to multiply her minions by continuing to dealt range damage each seconds without interruption, she will be teleporting throughout all the vessels during her attacks. 2) Stabilize the single random reflection her arrow produced, allow it to copy some of her skills, use it as a shadow like in D2. 3) She can eat it?? Demon Hunter Underground Tentacle Attack Theory: Only the player's screen having tentacles edging inward, aiming toward the demon hunter, the length is spontaneous, changeing in seconds, surfacing in random order. (This vision will be excluded from other players) The screen of the computer acts as a blizzard attack, weather effects works like d2's Druide. When the tentacle looks reachable in length to the victim, DH trys to chase the victim and locate the short, fat tentacle's lair underneath the victim. When engaged, demon hunter hold-click mouse key, and drawn its cursor at the opposite direction to surface the tentacle for the attack. Maybe this is not an ideal skill for DH, but it's a concept to explore the cursor based attacks. An elaborated version to druide's hurricane.

In the DH gameplay video of the trap, well they just didn't play it right. As the name implies, it's a trap, so they should have placed a couple of it by a door entrance or inside by the door, so that when you start shooting at demons inside a room & they try to race out of the room to you, then the traps would be sprung, thus killing a bunch of them. I also think, this will be useful to set up on narrow bridges or corridors where you know that if they chase you, they would surely walk over it. So in my opinion, this would be a great skill, especially if you would be able to lay out about a dozen of it for the mini-bosses & the big boss. For game play, I think you could also place a couple of traps then just stand off to one side by the trap (just far enough that when it is sprung, you wont get hit) and wait for the monsters to come to you. While hitting them with bolts or arrows, the traps are actually grinding them up right in front of you.
As for the grenades, if you watch the grenade game play closely, you'll see that she also use it by her immediate surrounding where it didn't bounce far & landed in a close group, killing a couple of monsters approaching her. But it seems that if you do throw it far, that's where the 3 grenades separated in their trajectory for a more spread area of damage.
