Hi guys.I'm farming act1 and my problem is cant survive in mp 7.Currently im using bats still cant deal good damage. What should i do or which one is my items should be upgrade.
I'm a bit confused why he suggested what is in essence, a high dps centric build when you're having issues surviving?
Horrify with Frightening Aspect rune works wonders when combined with Grave Injustice and some pick-up radius. It literally doubles your armor and can be cast often. As well, Horrify is a helluva panic button.
Myself, I prefer Hex/Jink over Mass Confusion/Paranoia. It's easy to get full up-time with it, as it has a drastically shorter cooldown than MC.
Also, ditch the Lacunis and craft some bracers. WD's using bats don't need IAS. Actually, many people prefer slow builds to high IAS. You'll get far better mana sustain this way and in this manner, sheet DPS lies to you in respect toward IAS on a WD.
It is hard to describe, but what MC(Mass Confusion)does is:
Well.....I'm aware of what it does, I used to swear by it. Until a friend suggested Jinx, and he was right. Most WD's I see have replaced MC with Hex/Jinx. The cooldown is too long and it typically misses up to half or more of the Elites. It's a good skill, just a bit gimped by it's cooldown and unpredictability.
If he's looking to send mobs away and create a block, Horrify will hit everything near him and send them running, clogging up dozens of mobs. As well, if he's really having serious survivability issues, Horrify's FA rune actually does something to boost survivability, the double armor bonus (at his armor rating = over 7k).
SoJ creates serious issues for people toeing the line in regard to resist, vita and armor. The ring only helps against elites and causes the player to sacrifice so many more desirable affixes that aren't going to appear on a SoJ.
The key thing I would suggest to the OP if he's still trying to figure the right balance between kill speed and survivability....he should consider, you can't DPS if you're dead.
As well, he never mentioned anything about wanting to pull 50% of Fields mobs into one group. That might be a bit more than he wants to handle.
Your suggestion of Dire Bats rune was....curious. Nobody uses that, for good reason. It's an awful skill rune choice, just awful. He's using CoB, which is a bit tricky but it does DPS like hell. Myself, I prefer PB. The range prevents constant repositioning, saving a great deal on resource.
i'll have to side with ruksak on this one... i don't even use cloud of bats anymore as it's a limit to what you can actually damage... my WD has a pretty bitchin set up, and i pretty much don't die anymore... sure, i don't pull "100s of packs", but what i do is play fast paced, and rarely die... i also use jinx, it works especially well against kulle's uber form... ;D
Something I started using over the weekend and like so for is Zombie Dogs with the Life Link rune. The dogs absorb 10% of your damage. It has certainly helped me stay alive. I'm also using Plague Bats, that gives you some range so you can stay out of harms way a little better. Here's my WD and build if you're interested http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Jackal-1503/hero/29008394. Oh and as others have said Hex/Jinx is a really awesome skill, especially against elites..

BBV is a good sub for Horrify if you feel you don't need that much survivability.
