Full 6 piece Unhallowed Essence set, Topaz in the Helm, Emeralds in the Torso and Legs for full offense with a variation on the Legs using Amethysts or Diamonds for better defense. With the 6 piece set bonus, additional Discipline total is your go-to affix for all your gear, armor and weapons alike.

A Hellfire Amulet is an excellent choice for this build to add some variation or reinforcement, such as the Perfectionist or Brooding passives, and Ess of Johan works to group up and Slow enemies at a distance. The Traveler's Pledge is another good all around choice to add more overall damage. For Rings, the Bastion of Wills set is the most popular choice for the raw damage output, though if using the Traveler's Pledge and Compass Rose, a more defensive option like Elusive Ring would work well, or higher elemental damage with Convection of Elements, the better of the two worn and the other Cubed.

Legendary Gems are Gogok of Swiftness for increased DPS speed and Dodge chance plus additional cooldown for Vengeance, with Esoteric Alteration granting elemental resistances overall and when in low health. Zei's Stone of Vengeance works with the build fighting at distance and the ability to Stun enemies always helps. In terms of substitutions, Gogok could be swapped with Bane of the Trapped for higher damage at higher Greater Rifts and works with the Stun effect from Zei's, or Esoteric could be swapped with Molten Wildebeest's Gizzard or Invigorating Gemstone for more healing and crowd control immunity.

Hunter's Wrath works best for Belt options, making Elusive Fire attack much faster and with greater damage, whereas Witching Hour is an overall increase to critical damage and attack speed, though not as great an increase at the offset of affecting all the Demon Hunter's attacks. Krelm's Buff Belt is the last option for additional 25% movement speed when not attacking, and adds Vitality if using Krelm's Buff Bracers as well.

Nemesis Bracers for speed running Rifts/GRs, though Wraps of Clarity greatly improve survivability for GR pushing, especially with the build's need for regaining Hatred and/or triggering the effects of the Bastion of Wills set. Krelm's Buff Bracers works to negate Stun and Knockback effects, and grants a Vitality boost if using Krelm's Buff Belt.

Paragon of 1000 and above is required for pushing past GR75 range, focus on Maximum Hatred for casting Multishot, Dexterity for damage and Armor and Vitality for total Life, Movement Speed rounding out when able but the priority on Dexterity and Vitality beforehand.

Attack Speed is more crucial for maintaining all damage dealing, Cooldown Reduction for Vengeance and Critical Hit Damage and Chance.

Life Regeneration for healing, Resist All and Armor for defense and Life total lastly.

Resource Cost Reduction for better use of Multishot, Life on Hit for healing and Area Damage to round out Multishot's damage radius. Gold Find isn't applicable to the build.

Build Guide

This build has been tested on 2.6.1 on PS4 and PC.

The build is of course the pinnacle Multi-shot focused build, the damage boost from the Unhallowed Essence 6 piece bonus for it and Vengeance along with the effects of Yang's Recurve and Deadman's Legacy turning it into a multi-hitting skill as well as an area of effect damage dealer. Combined with the build's mobility and damage reduction skills, it makes for a fast, hard hitting Demon Hunter able to cut through mobs in a few hits and shred through elites and bosses at range easily.

Evasive Fire with the Focus rune turns the damage to Cold damage and boosts the Hatred regeneration to 7 per hit, along with an additional 2 Hatred and 1 Discipline from the Unhallowed Essence 2 piece bonus, helping maintain the resource pool for Hatred and the full damage boost from keeping Discipline at full, as well as being a reliable damage dealer from said damage boost. Multishot itself with the Arsenal rune turns the damage to Fire and launches up to 3 Fire damage rockets for 300% weapon damage each, the rapid uses allowing for whole swarms of arrows and rockets to annihilate mobs, and balancing the two to maintain the Hatred generation to expenditure ratio is key to avoid falling dry at a bad moment in Rifts.

Vault with the Tumble rune is the focus of the build's mobility, allowing repeated Vaults to keep enemies at a distance and allowing the 60% damage boost and damage reduction bonus of the Unhallowed Essence 4 piece bonus to be maintained. Further damage reduction and Life on Hit comes from Shadow Power with the Gloom rune, both of course costing Discipline which is where Preparation with the Invigoration rune comes in, restoring Discipline in bulk and granting a bonus amount to the total Discipline pool, thus granting the build a higher maximum range for the 6 piece damage bonus. Vengeance caps all of this off, the Dark Heart rune adding another 50% damage reduction along with the assorted bonus attacks as Lightning damage.

For passives, Ambush deals greater damage to enemies with higher health and Leech helps reinforce the Life on Hit from Shadow Power. Steady Aim stacks with the 4 piece bonus, adding another 20% damage with no enemies within 10 yards of the Demon Hunter, and Ballistics adds a chance to fire Physical damage rockets on any attack, and doubles the damage of them and the rockets fired by Multishot and Vengeance.

The Cubed items for the build help facilitate the main damage dealing aspects, Dawn cutting the cooldown for Vengeance more than half, and Cindercoat reducing the cost of Fire damage skills by 30%, in this case Multishot as the sole Hatred spender. The Jewelry slot is down to player choice, the use of all four elemental damage types making Convection of Elements an excellent choice, and Shadow Power making the Elusive Ring a good choice for even further damage reduction.
