Build Guide
Basic game-play strategy:
- Rotation. Piranhado as opening, Spirit Walk into mob, apply Soul Harvest and Horrify. Move around avoid projectiles and elemental attacks, allow your Gargantuans finish enemies, reposition and repeat.
- Focusing on elites. The speed farming build focuses on killing elites to proc your In-Geom instant 10 second CDR for your abilities, so you will be able to move incredibly fast during the rift to search another pack of elites. Definitely kills the blue elites, but when you encounter the yellow elite, please remember to also kill his minions(ones also with affixes, with yellow shadowing) otherwise you wont proc your In-Geom CDR.
- Reposition. Your Gargantuans are not Google's AlphaGo... they are stupid, sometimes if they are not around, you will re-cast them next to you or "pull" them next to you by moving a further to your target so they will move nearby or reappear. As a WD, you are quite fragile so keep moving can also avoid deadly random projectile and if you have Hexing Pants of Mr. Yan, repositioning allows your constant damage buff.
- Movement Speed. What makes this build so powerful is the speed, In my opinion, with In-geon uptime you will move faster than classic angry chicken WD and most other classes' speed builds. Therefore, remember to cast your Horrify regularly and apply Soul Harvest to maintain your speed.
Skill variations/explanations:
Both following runes' changes will decrease your movement speed. However, they will boost your survivability. I recommend these set up if you do not have optimized gears and have low paragon points.
Soul Harvest:
-Languish: Increase your armor and reduce your enemies' movement speed.
Horrify:
-Frightening Aspect: Also Increase your armor as well.
Passives: (Swap out Pierce the Veil)
-Gruesome Feast: Drastically increase your primary stats and life, but you have to keep picking up health globes. This shouldnt be any problem at all.
-Swampland Attunement: Increase your elemental resistance, i.e. higher damage reduction.
Additional Tips:
This is just my personal preference and setup that I would like to share with new players, sometimes with you are clicking around the map, you will accidentally click on an enemy then trigger your primary ability unintentionally. This kind of incident seems trivial but it actually affects your progress in some situations if you do not want to waste your abilities. Two important keys: "Force Stand" and "Force Move". You need to assign these two keys in order to move around unhindered. For my personally set up, I assigned my Force Move to my mouse's wheel button. So if I cast my Spirit Walk and just want to "move" then as I click my Force Move key, even when I click on a monster, it will not trigger my Horrify(according to this build that is the primary spell) and typically as you click your Force Move key you would hold it as you move your cursor and your character will still move. As or my force stand, I assigned it to "R" key, if I am moving around and need to cast my Horrify to boost my speed, by holding R and press my left click, I will "self-cast" horrify and thus increases my movement speed. This is just my personal tip that I found fundamentally useful during Speed Farming.
