This build is for Barbs running with a Necromancer, Firebats Witch Doctor and a Support Monk when pushing higher Greater Rifts. There are many other zBarb guides on DiabloFans for different purposes, ie Troupster's Rat Run guide for 3x Necro and the Barb when doing speeds.

Pickup radius is included where possible for easier globe collecting

Cooldown Reduction where ever possible

The rest is mostly for survival

Gem of Efficacious Toxin and Wreath of Lightning you only need to level to 25, you don't need to put additional points above that.

For Gogok of Swiftness you can level it as high as you like for improved survival.

Little Rogue and Slanderer is an alternative option if you don't like using the shield. It will make you charge faster however you'll need to make sure you keep 5 stacks up at all times. For a beginner to zBarb I wouldn't recommend this as it's another thing to keep track of whilst learning the class, but if you feel comfortable with it then by all means give it a try.

If Survival is an issue you can drop Illusionary Boots for Raekor's Striders and Raekor's Heart for Aquila Cuirass.

Life on Hit - Resource Cost Reduction - Gold Find and DO NOT put paragon points into Area Damage as it'll create lag spikes when in high Density.

Build Guide

It's the same old build we've used for many seasons, over time there have been some small changes here and there.

The zBarb's roll is to scout the map whilst keeping the group buffed with Ignore Pain/Warcry and enemies debuffed with Threatening Shout. You're tasked with a few responsibilities.

Scouting

1. Scout the map ahead whilst making sure you monitor the groups buff duration of Ignore Pain, if it's about to expire make sure you have enough time to return to your group to reapply Ignore Pain and refresh Threatening Shout on the group of monsters.

2. Once you've found a spot to move to next and the current group of monsters are about to be killed drop your banner (default button is G) and communicate with your group with Voice Comms if you have it.

3. You'll want to move with your group to the new spot and buff them with War Cry as Chilanik's Chain will give you and the group a movement speed increase. Make sure any left over mobs from the previous pack (such as elites) are kited to the new pack (usually done with Ancient Spear).

Health Globes

Ground Stomp with Jarring Slam has a chance of spawning globes for each monster hit, so when you use this make sure you do it with as many monsters as possible around you. The pickup radius on your gear will mean the barb shouldn't need to move to much to collect them all.

Solanium and your Crit Hit Chance will also help with spawning of globes, although some people don't need or want to play this way, personally I feel more globes doesn't hurt anyone. Alternatives to Solanium are Odyn Sun and In-Geom.

Where to set up to kill Monsters

Generally you want to drop your banner at a cross road / intersection where there is a good density of monsters. Over time you'll acquire a good knowledge of what twists and turns you're likely to encounter on a map (although not always!) which can help with planning your next move or where not to go.

Nemesis Bracers

As the Barb you'll be the one clicking the Pylons, if the Rift Guardian is about to spawn imminently you'll be better off waiting for the Rift Guardian to spawn first. Depending on the Greater Rift difficulty will also depend on when exactly to click the pylon, however if you're doing 100+ you'll probably already know this! Communicate with your team to let them know when you'll be taking the pylon or to ask when if you're not sure.

With Conduit Pylons it's always a good idea to prepare before clicking this by pulling the elite and champion packs towards the pylon and killing off most of the "trash" monsters, this way you'll get an awful lot of progress in the Rift in a short amount of time.

Finally, this build is aimed mostly at new players to zBarb, there are many barbs out there far better and knowledgeable than me but if this build helps others too, great! Any questions reply and I'll try and address them.

Thanks
