This is a build guide for what is currently performing as the top build on the PTR for patch 2.6.1. This build was taken from The top witch doctor on the ladder and is so much fun to play. I personally have loved witch doctor for my entire life in diablo and love making WD videos
For patch 2.6.1 we get buffs which make this build so strong
Soul Harvest
- Adding a stack or refreshing Soul Harvest now refreshes all stacks of Soul Harvest.
Creeping Death
- Increased the duration of Haunt, Locust Swarm, and the damage amplification of Piranhas when this passive is active from 3600 to 14400 seconds
Bakuli Jungle Wraps
- Firebats deals 250-300% increased damage to enemies affected by Locust Swarm or Piranhas.
Staff of Chiroptera
- No longer rolls Legendary-strength bonus to Firebats damage as an inherent affix. Can still roll 10-15% as a random affix.
- Firebats attacks 100% faster, and costs 75% less Mana, and has its damage increased by 150-200%.
Outside of this change this build had not changed much but the power growth has been huge.

Hello all my thinkers..... how are you all doing today? I wanted to create a video / guide for all my followers on what is the hot witch doctor build for patch 2.6.1. This arachyr's firebats witch doctor is performing top on the ladder with having cleared over a GR109. This build is one of my favorite builds to play as a witch doctor as it is a high damage build with good livability. Please note it also is the set which you get for the Hadrig's girt for season 12
Play style is fairly simple:
1. Keep Haunt and locust swarm on enemies at all times. (usually cast a few of each when you get to the group of mobs
2. Use soul harvest when necessary to keep yourself at 10 stacks
3. Cast Hex every time it is off cool down. This give you health, damage reduction, and also a cc with the toad.
4. Use Spirit walk when you need mana mainly or when you need to escape
5. Use fire bats to kill all of the mobs you come accross. The more grouped up the better.
Other than that guys its a very fun build to play so give it a try.
you have the pestilence rune listed for locust swarm when vile hive gives that passively... should be cloud of insects
also, i wouldnt recommend CDR on any gear since grave injustice takes care of that problem... AD or atk spd would be more beneficial for firebats damage
